Try sitting through a two-hour live concert. He performs every single song as if it's the only one. When that respect for the music is combined with his incredible gift, it's emotionally overwhelming.
I get the pleasure of finally getting to see him again in June and when I seen my tickets lock in I literally danced around like a kid in xmas
So true, saw him in Tahoe; I was worn out after his concert
I was wondering how many people just weep all the way through the show. I cry at every single live show. Maybe not the Dead, but I was tripping, so...
I would give just about anything to be at his concert! But I'm in Canada.
@@rvt1994 Check his website. He has a tour planned and I'm fairly sure there are a few Canadian stops. I live in Nova Scotia and flew to Ottawa to see him. So worth it!!! He said it was their first tour in Canada and they hadn't known what to expect. When he did Whiskey and You, he did a tiny change-up in 3 spots and the entire stadium let out a huge gasp each time, and he said something about never getting such a reaction to that song before. He appeared to really appreciate the love and did a gazillion songs in the encore.
This dude Chris Stapleton is the real deal. Remember this is LIVE. No auto tune BS. If you know anything about music this song is done to perfection. The VOICE is amazing, The B.B.King guitar solo is perfect. The Violins are perfect. The piano and drums. You can not make this song better than it is right here. You can play this 50 years from now and you will still get the Chills you felt the first time you heard it. Totally Amazing
Chris Stapleton is the best thing to happen to country music ever!
Best thing to happen to humanity in general.
Best thing to happen to music, period.
The crazy part it isn’t just country he’s blues, rock n roll, soul, gospel, bluegrass! So you stand corrected Chris Stapleton is one of the best thing to happen to music!😉
...to music, period! Country and otherwise!!! He is super versatile and multi-talented....a U.S. treasutr, for sure
This is not country. Not sure why they are branding it as country. He is so much more. I don’t listen to country music so I have missed out on this man’s work. Well not now!
He is the new soul king.
Southern rock mixed with blue eyed soul. He is the hottest in Country music!!
he made me feel his pain. his voice is so rich and smooth and the music just sends chills up my spine. this brings hope that true good music is not dead. LOVE LOVE
That is so good it hurts.
That's some blues like none other He's right up there with the man, BB King.
pull up the video of Chris singing "Its a Man's World" you'll be blown away !!!
This might be one of the all times greats in writing, arraignment and performance.
This is how you know the singer is Great, when with just One "Oh" he delivers the pain, despairation, heartbreak, need! Chris went off on this performance, topping the studio version by a mile🙌🏻😄
I hear a strong BB King vibe in this song. And you can believe that's high praise!
I can't think of a song of his that isn't just fantastic.
I can. Just one. "Maggie" ... for those of us dog lovers who deal with, "Ol' Yeller" childhood trauma, it's excruciating. It's beautifully written, a loving tribute, superbly performed, but I can't even hear the opening notes without scrambling to turn it off. I heard it once, did the ugly cry, and said never again. But then I saw him in concert and I was trapped when he started singing it, couldn't get away from it quickly enough, bawled my way through the song and then it took two songs to get my happy back. Of course that's not his fault. He dealt with his emotions of losing his beloved pet in a way I wish I could, but this dog lover (with clear grieving issues) can't handle it. So for me, that is the one song I will run far and fast away from! But I guess that means it does its job of hitting the feels. 😪
Bc there isn't none!!!!!
@@Melly01 naturally I had to go have a listen to “Maggie” since I had never heard it. After my soul was finished being ripped in two, I laid here sobbing like a baby with my dog for a solid 10 minutes. Her name is Maggie…….So thanks for that lol. And don’t even get me started on “Ol’ Yeller”
Playing in WA state in June, saw tickets for an understandable price, waited till the next day to ask my girl what she thought,go for it. Certified resale tickets only, five times at least the cost. Getm when you can folks, this cats on fire
Indeed! As a Bluegrass fan, I also really like the work he did with The Steeldrivers, before his meteoric (and well-deserved) rise to stardom. But, you are correct; everything he does is just fantastic!
When I saw this performance during the CMAs, I told my husband that there was not a single thing about this song that I just don't completely love! It pulls you in on these invisible strings from the first bars of the song, and just pulls and pulls on your emotions. The pain and desperation in Chris's voice holds onto you, and you can literally feel it deep into your soul, causing your whole body to move to the beat of the song. The strings are completely genius, the guitar solo is unbelievable, the piano sends chills up and down my spine and the lyrics are worthy of every award possible. Dare I say that this is the best song ever from Chris Stapleton???? If you can't feel the emotions screaming off this song into your soul, then I can't imagine what will. Just absolute genius in every possible way! Genius.
CS takes us with him on the journey. My 98 yo grandmother says it’s like he takes you to church with the emotions
I literally just got home from seeing him live In Minnesota. He’s not of this world.❤️💪
FREAKIN BAD ASS SONG!!!! FROM THE MOMENT I HEARD IT
I FEEL SAD FOR THE 2 THAT GAVE IT A THUMBS DOWN
So much talent. So soulful.
I truly feel, that Chris brings blues, soul, and country together and lets us feel that we should see that we all are human and we all fell the same deep within! Thanks for your review MrLboyd
He tore it up!!
Another thing..you react to almost exclusively live videos of his..which is just him with his mic..not with the advantage of a studio..and he still sounds this good.
Another Wow Wow from Chris he is a gift to the music world❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Little BB King, little Duane Allman. Whole lot of talent!
🎸💯 Chris Stapleton IS perfection‼
His VOICE, the GUITAR, that PIANO, those STRINGS & TRANSITIONS are EVERYTHING on "Cold"‼I absolutely love ALL of Chris's stuff; but, "Cold" is so freaking special on EVERY LEVEL‼🤯🔥
This is so good, I almost can’t take it! I’m also infatuated.
Chris is my favorite living right now. He is just as good live as recorded.
Good point. That’s what transcends Chris to greatness while other artists are just “good.” This man’s voice is like an instrument. I’m in shock by how good he is live.
Better live.
YES!!!!!!!!
better
He is amazing live. I was so blown away when I saw him in concert. I was sad that it had to end. Can't wait to see him again. I hope his wife is with him next time, her voice is so good. The connection, and how they look at one another is as sweet as love could be.
Standing ovation!!
When people heard Hendrix, TVZ, Whitney, Cash they may not have known what they were hearing. With this man you are hearing that same level. That very best of best but hopefully we realize it while it is happening.....
@ian Wilkinson that's a bit of an overreach! All singers you mentioned were tops at their game. I love Chris Stapleton and in his genre (s), he's tops too.
I'm impressed that you can even react to this and make sense. I can barely speak after hearing a CS performance for the first time sand this was up there with his best.
This man is among the all time greats. Every song is timeless
Saw him sing this on the CMA live a couple nights ago. Blew me away. His voice and passion and gradual buildup in the song was incredible. He plays a mean lead guitar several times during this song too . All blend in smoothly with the 12 ??? Violinists building the crescendo and then fading away. In between this arrangement was beautifully timed organ sounds to carry out CS s emotion. Just a masterpiece so well arranged and delivered.😊👍🔥🔥🔥
JUST WAIT UNTIL YOU HEAR THE ALBUM VERSION! The intro is much longer and just makes you feel every note. SO GOOD!!!
I fell in love with the studio cut but I was waiting to hear this live and personally it blew it out the water. Incredible artist live
@@aquaagu2 I've seen him live twice and you are not wrong. I was in some kind of trance the first time.
Also, I listen to music a little too loud in my car so it was like a symphony up in there 😁 #losingmyhearing #totallyworthit
Benmont Tench is a legend. You know how good an artist is when legends of the business like Mickey Raphael and Benmont Tench want to work with them.
“I Was Wrong” by Chris Stapleton, On top of his entire catalog. But personally love this song!
Whoa. His voice never gets old. So evocative.
I just heard this for the first time a couple of days ago and I can't even tell you how many times I've heard it since!! I love this song!!! I can't imagine anyone else doing it justice like he does...and that guitar!!! OMG !!!
EXACTLY!!!!! THAT GUITAR!!!!!!
I love Chris Stapleton and you are my favorite person for reactions.
Soulful perfection
Give Chris’ song death row and his original band the steeldrivers other side of the mountain song. It will give you glimpse into Chris’ early years. God bless.
He is a true legend. He is climbing that mountain to sit up there with other Country greats likes George Strait, and Jonny Cash. Also side note Change that title tag to say, **ROAD TO 400,000 SUBSCRIPTIONS *** Dig watching your reviews.
I feel like the fame isn't as important to him as music & putting everything he has in it. The fame is the bonus he gets for being so TALENTED!
This is my first time to hear this one. He has the ability to use words and say words to draw you in to the story . He is great with an orchestra or just him and his guitar!(
I'm an old woman... but this man wrenches deep emotions from my heart and soul ... especially with " COLD"... I am emotionally exhausted! It is a masterpiece in my humble opinion! Thank you
My personal opinion...this song's string arrangement plus blues makes me think of two songs: B.B. King's "Chains and Things" with Carole King on piano and she's the co-writer of that song with B.B.
And Albert King's "I'll Play The Blues For You" (part 1 and 2).
And we all know Chris is a fan of both.
Definitely hear both. Chris has more blues and soul in him than country. Mavis Staples said they had to be related somehow.
Chris Stapleton is the best thing to come out of country music in 20 years. I'm an old school country girl, with Johnny Cash being my all-time favorite. Country is just not the same these days. I like country from the 1990s and back. Chris Stapleton will be a legend. You do that by singing what you want when you want. Why do you think they called Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings outlaw country.
Would say in Music. He covers all: country, blues, soul, gospel, rock, orchestration, etc. He IS music
@Vicki Lloyd....EXACTLY! YOU GET IT, THANK YOU!!! #CountryGirlFromKY #LoveMeSomeStapleton #StapletonIsMyKindaCountry 💯✅🎯😘
@Jasmina.....he covers all spectrums and if he rapped I'd listen to that too!! 😂😂😂
@Jasmina....he had two different bluegrass bands, as well, before he went to Nashville and started writing and singing. Damn, he's Blessed to be able to heartfeltly (idk that that's A word, heehee 😂) bust ANYTHING out....any type of music! 💯✅🎯😘
@@stephaniepreston-mullins3262 I listened to that band and him waaaay before he came into larger audiences' spotlight!
Omg love this song
OMG! I love how you feel the music. I do the same thing. I just want to chill and listen to good music with you man. Chris Stapleton is hands down my favorite artist. His way with words, emotions and his arrangements, forgetaboutit. He is amazing. Loved watching you hear this Gem for the first time.
ANOTHER GREAT REACTION MY MAN!!!!!!!!! I'M 64 YEARS OLD & CHRIS IS MY #1 MALE VOCALIST OF ALL TIME BAR NONE. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HE CAN ABSOLUTELY DO NO WRONG.
I’m 65 and I’ve been hooked on CS for a long time. Absolutely brings the emotion, the real , the beautiful, the soulfulness. On and on and on.
One of very few singers who sound sooooo much better live. I hope he comes to Ireland, I have to see him in concert!
Utterly amazing. Gotta give credit to the piano and choir for adding to the insane amount of emotion within this song. So many people involved and so much work put in to make it absolute perfection
All his songs are wonderful reaches your soul
This song has ALWAYS given me major James Bond title song vibes
Last night's performance at the Grammy's...I got chill bumps. He tore that up!!!❤
He’s damn near as perfect of an artist as I’ve ever heard.
First time I’ve ever seen the stank face from you!! You must see him in concert- phenomenal!
Pure perfection!!!! He’s now my absolute favorite artist ever!!!
Chris freaking rocks!!!!
He's so so amazing, so lucky to have him in my lifetime
This is one of my favorite songs from him!!!
Like you said "He's phenomenal" Thank you!!:)
A true artist is one that convey the emotions of the song through their voice. There aren't many of those around but Chris is one of them.
I can’t get enough of this song!
I reacted the same way! I was blown away when I heard it for the first time!! 🎤🎶🎸👏
Love this man! He's brought back real Country music🎶❤ It's no wonder he's bringing $800 + for some of the seats for his Nashville concert in December.
Just got back from that concert and it was stunning amazing something you will not feel anywhere else
His voice is making love to my ears
He's one of our home town boys
One of the best live performance’s EVER! This man is ridiculously talented and gifted! all the grace of god on him daaamn I’m still tripping and this is my 5th video reaction to this performance Wow mindblowing
The strings in this song makes me think of a James Bond movie
I thought the same thing! :D
Probably my favorite song by Chris. I’m so glad you enjoy him this much he is extremely talented.
He is soooo wonderful and his voice is like nobody else. Not just country but also very bluesy and smooth. I could listen to him all day 🤗
Great reaction MrLboyd! So heartwarming to see your appreciation of this incredible artist. New fan here, was absolutely blown away hearing Chris sing this for the first time. You summed it up perfectly “Masterful”. Can’t get enough of Chris Stapleton! So exciting! Thank you! 🥰🎶
1st time I heard this last year I fell in love with it immediately!!!!
I so love this performance....great reaction!
The way you reacted made me cry.
I over love his music it’s very soulful
He's incredible ! I don't of any thing else !Love your reactions,I just wish we could see the video itself.
He is phenomenal. Thank you for a great reaction.
I truly enjoy the way you break down different sections of the song! Chris Stapleton is one of the best Country Soul artist! One if a kind & add arrangement of his band to back him up is powerful!
Chris Stapleton -song (Outlaw State of Mind )if you will please.Held back tears, heart and soul started smiling overwhelmingl with like hope for humanity.Idk if conveyed that correctly. We had a Mirrored reaction. I'll put it this way it was..awesome!✌
I just saw him in concert he was phenomenal! Such a talented artist!
I was expecting something with a little twang coming from Mr. Stapleton. This song is R&B more than country. Absolutely beautiful and precise. I agree 💯 with your reaction.
You need to listen to Parachute. Falling feels like flying till you hit the ground. Great song by Chris Stapleton
Thank you for the great review first te I heard this. But man what can I say they say he is country but to me he has a more soulful or blues sound. One of the best I have heard.
This man is a once in a millennium talent! I would love to hear a duet with Chris and Darius Rucker!
I have been enjoying this song for the last year on the CD, but this live performance was next level.
me too, the first time I heard it on the CD, I looped it for nearly an hour, I was awestruck.
This was the first time I heard this song. I sought it out after hearing about the CMA awards. Your reaction added to my appreciation, Mr. LLOYD. I've heard that heartrending "OO-OH' before! Maybe that sexy hillbilly man who sang "My love is on fire" (not Stevie)
I need to check this fellow's past musical history.
Yeah this performance was unreal
He is a true music artist, an artist can take you where he wants to lead you....and we all follow! True artist.
You just feel it when he sings. I am not a country fan but I LOVE Chris Stapleton.
Chris Stapleton could make the devil cry. PEACE!!!!!
Your sound on these reactions is so much better than other reactors. Great work Brother.
Every part of this scong is just indescribable perfection. His voice and the way he plays his guitar with the same soul as he sings with is mind blowing, but then adding the subtle perfection of the orchestra just elevates this song to what has to be the best song ever recorded.
The string in the background were great!
This dude has the voice of a thousand angels.
Ya gotta have some soul in ya to sing this way... Chris Stapleton is full of surprises... I like your reaction to this song, you have got a real feel and understanding of music....
I know his rhythm guitar player is his producer. I believe he also arranges. I think most of the Country star dislike, and/or are jealous of him, because he is super successful across ALL genres without even trying. He's never changed his look, or style, for either. He's just his wonderful, talented self. The first time he was at the CMA's and won awards awards and sang, Luke Byran was being interviewed afterward and they kept asking him about Chris. He got mad and said " Let's talk about me! It's my interview!" He immediately realized that was a mistake and did a little laugh, like he was just kidding.
Song writer's and Vocalist like him come once in a lifetime
It was on my daily before the live performance got released. Needless to say i was thrilled when this CMA version got released. I LOVE Chris live.
Easily my favorite song of his. Those strings also make it sound like a James Bond movie anthem.
I don’t think I’ve seen “Fire Away” on your reactions from him. That one is a must! Find the music video if you can.
I believe every word, every emotion- This man has lived-This is a Blues song sung with soul🦅💚🦅🦅🌸🦅🌼🦅🌺🦅🙏🏽 Thank You -Always spot on!
I'd love to see your reaction to his song fire away. The video is just as important too, about as heartfelt as it gets
Hell yeah....Fire Away is a heart wrenching, gut punch, BUT....awesome at the same time?! He needs to react to Fire Away, the song AND the video, the first time I saw the song/video...oh my GAWD....I was sobbing at the end, tissues flying everywhere. Plus the actor in that video, *chef's kiss* I love him in any show/movie he's in. Sorry, his name eludes me at this moment in time.
Seen him twice now, his concerts are emotional rollercoasters, unbelievable live!
Absolutely love his music & enjoy it even more watching you react.
You should check out a song called if it hadn’t been for love by the steeldrivers. Chris was the lead singer during that time.
Listen to the live version of that song (which Adele sang, as well, was A BIG HIT) from Sundance! It blew my mind, it's just him, his song, guitar & A microphone! It's here on YT floating around, I'm gonna find it right now, Peace out! ✌✌✌
