    Mike, this is by far the best instructional series I have ever seen. I've seen videos on solar power, gun restoration, sprinter van conversations, knife making etc. Your series gives me some confidence that I can get my old Suzuki running again. You are a great mechanic and a master CZcamsr. Hats off and CHEERS!

      Thank you so much for your very kind words. I really appreciate it. I'm glad that you enjoy the channel and thank you very much for continuing to watch. Best wishes with your Suzuki! That sounds like a fun project, especially during this time. Take care. Mike

    I owned that identical bike in 1975. That is basically a springer front suspension. Lock up the front brake on wet pavement and you are going down. But 60 miles per gallon and never lets you down.

      I live in Vietnam right now and they reintroduced this bike last year. I know it is available in 50cc (no license required) and runs about 12m to 15m dong ($520-$650). I think bigger motors available (125cc).

    • @TheMightyGarage
      @TheMightyGarage  Před 5 lety +1

      Aaron Son Hi Aaron, there are a lot of variables to consider. If it ran previously before it sat for a while, it should hopefully be relatively straightforward to get running again. I would recommend all the basic steps such as removing any old gas/petrol, changing or at least checking the oil, removing and cleaning the carburetor, checking the battery and installing a new one if necessary. Then check to see if you have a spark before trying to restart. Good luck with your project!

    how do you change the gear?

    • @TheMightyGarage
      @TheMightyGarage  Před 7 lety

      Hi Iz Stan, I'm not quite sure what you're asking.. If you are asking how do you change gears while riding, then it is the foot pedal on the left hand side of the bike (as you sit on the bike). The gears automatically engage as you click on the gear-shift as it's an automatic transmission/gearbox. But if you are asking how to change the gear-box, then I did not change anything with the engine or transmission/gearbox. Hope this helps. Cheers, Mike.

      His query was how's the shifting happening without clutch.

    • @TheMightyGarage
      @TheMightyGarage  Před 7 lety +2

      Right, I think I answered that.. the gears automatically engage as you click on the gear-shift as it's an automatic transmission/gearbox. There's no clutch lever with this model. Cheers.

    Is this bike good for starters?

    • @TheMightyGarage
      @TheMightyGarage  Před 8 lety +2

      Hi, yes I would say that this is a perfect starter bike for anyone. I don't know where you live but my only concern would be that it is not fast enough to keep up with modern day traffic. So there is some risk in riding too slow in traffic. But I'm sure that a newer model of this same bike would be fine.

    • @mannaz_y
      @mannaz_y Před 8 lety +1

      Mi Ty I think it's fine. Im thinking of getting myself one. One more question, does it have a fuel gauge/indicator?

    • @TheMightyGarage
      @TheMightyGarage  Před 8 lety +1

      Hi there. This year (1981) model does not have a fuel gauge/indicator. I'm not sure if the newer models do. I would guess that they do, but it's really easy to flip up the seat and check inside for the gas/petrol level. Or, you can set the odometer to zero every time you fill up to gauge how much gas you have left.
