- In this video, we begin the restoration of a 1981 Honda Passport C70 (Super Cub). We figure out why there is no spark, get it fixed, and then get the carburetor cleaned up and in running order!

Greetings from Saskatchewan! Thanks for the video, I'll be watching for the rest of the series and I've subscribed.
Thanks a bunch Rob! Hopefully I can find the time to start getting it all back together and put into video form to get it all concluded!
Hi from newfoundland, I have a 1980 c70 in showroom condition with 1800kms, absolutely love the bike
I'm in Mount Pearl. Where are you at?
@@blastworks I live out in central, a small town called peterview
@@jguniv3066 I know it. Botwood area! Glad to see there are other people in the province watching my content!
Great machines! Watching from Seattle with my Newfoundland pup!
Thanks for tuning in!
This video is great, bro! I’ve got an 81 C70 in yellow that I’m constantly tinkering with. You are very in depth and entertaining. ✌🏻
Thanks a bunch, Preston!
Mine is 83 CDI ignition pretty tough bike an absolute gas saver as well
They certainly are awesome! I'm looking forward to finishing my project up over the course of the next couple months!
Nice
And nice to see you again Mike!
Interesting video . Came across your vid while looking for information on the C70 I picked up for a project . Not sure what year as the serial # on chassis is C70 KA . I’m a Newf retired in Thailand. Enjoying the vid and great information.
Thanks for watching, I hope the series of videos is helpful for you! I'm just about ready to start filing putting the bike back together now that most of the restoration work is done, so stay tuned!
Hey from PEI.
Thanks for popping in Chris! Hey back from Newfoundland!
Do they still put grease on the point cam ,and a couple drops of oil on the felt pad next to the points cam?
I don't know who they are, but I definitely do this if required!
I have one a 1972 honda c70 yellow and white that I wanna get running really bad but I'm clueless when it comes to wiring and the whole center where the fascea over the handlebars is a birds nest of wires
Pick up a shop manual, read lots of stuff online, and take lots of pictures if you start taking things apart so you can put it back together! We all start somewhere!
@@blastworks I paid someone to fix it and we had a disagreement because he was taking months like 3 months to fix it and I wanted it back and he just destroyed the shit out of it I can't afford to take him to court so I'm just left looking at a heap of fuckery and it's a huge disappointment because it was passed down to me from my grandparents it was in fine condition it just needed a new carburetor from being tarnished with old gas and new tires. I took it as a loss and now I'll just do everything myself. Definitely will look into getting my hands on a shop manual
@@farmerbobbygrows3338 That's a horrible situation to be in Robert. Hopefully when you start digging into it on your own you'll be able to draw satisfaction out of correcting a wrong and making it work!
How much is a mint condition 1981 worth today?
Depends on the market! There's no demand where I am so I would probably get fuck all for it once I get it done.
How to get head of
I won't be doing a rebuild of this motor as it is very low kms. There are other videos on my channel of me rebuilding single cylinder motorcycle motors which should help!
@@blastworks is 90k miles bad or would it a rebuild be needed ?
@@edgaribanez8592 Depends on whether you are having issues or not. If mine had 90k on it, I'd very likely rebuild it with a new piston and rings.
@@edgaribanez8592 Yeah, if the oil is gunky I would totally rebuild it.
@@blastworks thank you for the advice I might be asking alot btw
