I am a Canadian I did not look at anything about the Voters choices yesterday because I was feeling anxiety. I went for a long walk in the sunshine and cold in nature, after a horrendous wind and rain storm with Arctic cold air the night before. I chose to believe that the People of the USA would not once again vote for chaos and lies. Thank you for voting for Truth, Humanity and Stability as the outcome matches many prayers. Peace to the World. Sigh....

I live in Michigan as well. I am so glad that our citizens stood up for what is right. I was worrying myself about what would happen. I went to bed and said a prayer that whatever the outcome was, we would be able to handle it. I changed from wishing to hoping and finally surrendered it to a higher power. What a relief! I am so thankful that democracy is still alive. We have a long way to go to protect the rights of everyone, but this is a great start!

The main thing I got from last night is that DeSantis vs Trump is going to be the most entertaining primary ever.

And that's the main reason why I've been cautiously optimistic for this election. I knew it wasn't going to be a landslide victory for the Dems, but there's still a chance to keep the Senate. Stock market is down about 10% from its historic high close. Real estate is cooling and finding more rational levels from unreasonable price increases of the last couple years. Gas prices are, adjusted for inflation, comparable to 1982 prices. Food prices have come down, supply lines are opening, used car prices are falling as new car inventories begin to ramp up. Most people are smart enough to know the once in a century pandemic disrupted the worldwide economy and realize that, after a while, we will see more normalcy in the economy. Sorry, Chicken Littles of the extreme right, but despite your clucking the sky is not falling.

This time the fear they keep shoveling at us was piled on top of anxiety from the four year clown show. Big thumbs up to all of the women and young people who voted like their freedom depended on it. Because it did, they stood up and got counted, as it's supposed to work. We still need to do it again in 24 though to ensure the fascists can't get any foothold on the positions of power.
Some Americans are finally waking up and realizing that the economy of many countries is sufferings, not just the USA. In the USA under 45, the economy starting to buckle because of the botched COVID response which led to 1000s of business closing, many 1000s losing their jobs, and 100s of 1000s dead. Under 45, interest rates were slashed to nearly 0, which was unsustainable. It was the perfect storm that ushered in both inflation and a recession. Biden was left with a huge mess to clean up. And then there is the war in Ukraine, etc. As for spending, the republicans like to state how much Biden's administration spent, but never mention the fact that 45 spent 7 trillion.
