I know, the reason why is at this point borderline paradoxal, but its still valid, and we shouldnt throw away 200 years tradition away in less than a generation. But we have to make 100 % the SCOTUS cant be tempted or bullied to make decisions. They cant be in a position where where a ruling is affected by them beiing promised a job position after end service, we cant allow a situation where they might rule on something that will affect their own future busines ventures or w/e.

Theres a lot we can do before we destroy something that could be good, and have been good for centuries. This time we live in is a fluke. Its not supposed to be like this. But the GOP and their manipulative narrative is by design. Its designed by The Media Research Center and/or all its branches and offshooting, its by design by Rupert Murdoch and the Koch brothers.
Its a design thats driven by Big Money. And theyre so good at it that people think that free education and universal healthcare are bad things.
we HAVE to change the narrative. And it starts in the schools, in the religious place of worship, it starts on social medias and books, new papers and even movies.
We have to advocate for things like free high quality education for all. Its our only chance. only when people are able to think for themself will they be able to see through the BS.
We need to protect the institutions, but we dont have to tear them down in the process

It is not a matter of the 1st Amendment. It's that SCOTUS Justices are *supposed* to be impartial and their job is to uphold the law and the Constitution. Can we agree that the peaceful transfer of presidential power falls under both these categories?
And if a SCOTUS Justice finds he/she cannot uphold their duty, has a conflict of interest, or if there is the appearance of a conflict of interest, that Justice is supposed to recuse themselves from connected cases. That is in the Constitution.
Alito and Thomas have both flatly refused to recuse themselves despite clear conflict of interest and appearance of conflict of interest. That is a violation of their oath and a dereliction of their duty.

Freedom of speech is not freedom from consequences. He has the right to fly the flag upside down, and he and Thomas has the right to associate with billionaires. But judges at every other level of the judiciary would be required to recuse from cases where their impartiality might reasonably be called into question; why aren't the justices of the highest court enforced to maintain the same standards?

The Courts do not make law. Congress makes law. The Supreme Court determines whether laws made by Congress are Constitutional when a case is brought to them by a citizen of America.

It's true...when significant issues come before the scotus that have political implications. Roe, gun control, election question the media target justices they know that are prone to take positions that are constitutional text based . They do it every time any hot button issue comes before the court.
