We lost several and many injured last Friday at our only grocery store, a local man began shooting randomly in the parking lot and inside. Funerals began yesterday. Our world is so broken. I had planted my green and red peppers last year from the seeds of peppers I bought from the store. They are still growing strong, covered them up in the winter and babied them . They are good. I also have an avocado tree, it's 2 years old. I have some garlic that was in the refrigerator. It has grown , so I will plant them today. I also planted some chives and spinach. ❤

The first lacey cornbread I had was made by my neighbor from Georgia We had it with pinto beans with big slices of Vidalia onions on the side Nothing could be better.

I’ve never heard of lacy cornbread but it sounds and looks like I’d love it. I try to make cornbread fritters and / or hocakes but I can never make them as good as my momma can! Ms. Brenda, I got busy and made me some lacy cornbread! It was delicious! Kinda had a hint of popcorn flavor, which I was surprised to taste that flavor! It was so crunchy! I can’t wait to cook them for my momma.
I put just a pinch of sugar and salt in my cornbread, and it really makes a difference in the taste of the bread. I've cooked lacy before and it's really yummy.

I’m just now seeing this post. I have had a grocery bag hornets nest for years. I do not draw anything on it, hang it by a wire on the end of my patio and wa la not wasp. It really works. I stuff mine with plastic grocery bags.
I sent paper bag suggestion also. Don’t have to draw anything. Put in corner of building. Had same one up for at least 10 years and no bees are drilling on wood! Y’all it really works!
I went to the store today get the cabbage, stone ground fine cornmeal, to make cabbage, lacy cornbread which I have never heard of but I’m going to try it this evening

We used to always eat fried green tomatoes before sitting down to eat. They would come out of the frying pan and we would grab one after another! 🥰
