That would be bright spot in a very dark case. Everyone who works with families should study this case, and the others where a family member, often the perfect father, kills the whole family. There has to be away to recognize a extreme crisis and to intervene to prevent future cases. This case is so sad.

I feel very deeply that with Shan’ann’s flight being quite delayed, he killed the girls before Shan’ann got home. I also believe that he waited in the dark for her to enter the home and came up behind her and strangled her without her seeing him turn on her. He was an extremely gutless person who could not face her. Up the stairs to grab the sheet taking no time at all. He possibly let her get to the kitchen where the floor could easily be cleaned up. If he was short on time why wait to kill his girls, if he had that job done already, no time problem. The grave could have been dug earlier, after all he was planning weeks earlier.

Her father also believes Chris killed Shan'ann while she was asleep. There's no way on God's earth she wouldn't have fought back, especially knowing she was pregnant and her two little girls were asleep across the hall, she was a fiercely protective moter. Just look at the whole "nut gate" situation. I also believe he strangled her because he knew she had a potentially weak neck, having had surgery in the past, there was also no reason for him to physically be on top of her while they were having an "emotional conversation", the way he describes what happened just doesn't make sense.

    • @ShannyShan20
      @ShannyShan20 Před 3 lety +60

I agree! I don't think they had an emotional conversation, at all, especially one where he was "bawling"! My ass!! I also believe that he never admitted to his affair(he was way too weak of a punk to speak up, a little scaredy cat!) I have my theory on the girls but my one theory on why Shan'ann didn't fight back. This is my own experience, and not to get into too much detail but years ago with my ex, when he was abusive and I would physically fight back, he would end up choking me to make me stop and as soon as he did that, I would submit and not move and he would ALWAYS let go(except once, he took a little longer)so just a thought...if she was awake, I'm sure she was in complete shock and she just might've thought if she didn't fight, he would let go. It is very possible. Or else, like other have said, she was asleep or he snuck up on her or was on top with his knees holding her down. I guess we'll never know since he is a TOTAL FKING LIAR!!!

The sad part is shannan was emotionally abused he made her feel crazy she asked him outright about an affair, and he denied it. She wrote him a letter saying she would change.
Also sadly there is talk that he made bella walk up to the oil drums because he couldnt carry 2 kids, bury shannan and be at work in time, as shannan flight was delayed. I really do think that to a certain extent mental health psychology and personality disorders should be taught in school. Before I escaped an abusive relationship with a narcissistic sociopath I had no idea about any of it. I took people at face value and believed what they said rather than what they did. This case helped me realise how dangerous the man I was with actually is and potentially capable of. It’s so hard when a person like this wears a mask for everybody else to see and the world thinks they are a saint. I think if we were given even a small understanding that certain individuals are capable of completely deceiving us then we would be a little better armed if we come against it later in life. Great video and I agreed with all of your points made, looking forward to the next!

I totally agree! I worked out that my ex was a psychopath with the help of Women's Aid and online articles written by psychologists and survivors. It was very difficult to break out of the cognitive dissonance, in my mind it was like he was two different people. One sweet, loving and responsible, the other a lying, cheating, violent misogynist. It was very difficult accepting the former personality was just a mask. After leaving I studied psychopathy, emotional abuse etc to be able to detect it in future. It's been invaluable not just in dating but in recognising governmental and media manipulation.

Videos dissecting Shannan’s videos, pulling everything she does to pieces, everything she does or says into some twisted version of what was happening, it was disgusting, absolutely unbelievable. There is an old pony in a big pen by the barn. He has no real purpose. No kids ride him, he is not a companion to another old horse.
We have no history together. He came into my life by happenstance. There are no fond, warm fuzzy memories. I owe him nothing. But he’s polite and kind, and nickers to me as I come out the door in the morning.
He eats a princely sum of special food, and has a premium round bale of irrigated grass that the other horses can only dream of. His water is fresh, and warmed in the winter. I’ve gone out there late at night to make sure he has food, and he’s the first thing I attend to after morning coffee.
Why? Why not send him to the sale where ‘someone’ will want him? At 40 cents a pound, he’d be worth a nice steak dinner and drinks in town. They’ll load him on a truck with 30 other old ponies and horses, and somewhere down that line, if he doesn’t fall from his bad knee and get trampled in the transport, he will become dog food.
There’s a bum calf in our scale house on this cold frosty night. He’s little and scrawny, with poop stuck to his butt, and a bit of a runny nose. There’s a heater in there keeping the temp above freezing. In the morning I’ll make him a bottle of warm milk replacer and try to convince him to eat some of the pony’s special food. Bob will clean his little house and put down fresh bedding. It would be easier to have left him in the field with the 500 bigger, stronger calves, to steal milk from the occasional tolerant cow, to eventually freeze to death and feed the coyotes that lurk about the herd for just such an opportunity.
There is a wild kitten in the barn who most likely jumped off a utility truck a while back. We’ve been leaving food just for him, and making sure the heated water bowl is full, so he doesn’t have to go outside and perch precariously on the horse waterer to drink.
I guess we sound like saps, the old cowboy and I. Sort of wimpy and un-ranch like.
I guess we are. But at our age, with certain infirmities starting to creep into our daily routines, and the realization that we are not perfect, we are thinking that kindness is a virtue and care is our purpose.
Care of not just the healthy robust animals that make money and pay the bills, but care of everything we are capable of caring for - those creatures that, like us, are in need of a bit more attention to get through the day.
We didn’t go about seeking these creatures- they came to us and landed here not of their own choosing, or ours. But here they are, and off I go to town to a business that provides enough to buy the expensive milk replacer, premium hay, and special pony food.
There may be some karma in all this, or maybe not, but in the end we’ll know we did the best we could for those that needed us.

You don’t have to sympathize with Chris to know there’s much more to this case then meets the eye. Chris was a great parent. Not a single person had one bad thing to say about Chris , he was perfect father, perfect husband , the perfect employee. There was a break, there had to have been a break, a change of some sort. Not only in Chris, but there was also a change in Shanann. She was backed in a corner on every side. It was a corner and of her own making. She was living a lie, and the truth was about to coming crashing down. I sympathize with both Chris and Shanann, all four grandparents, and most of all I feel so sorry for those innocent children! This case needs to be studied by every police academy and psychology student and every sociology student and every teacher. Anyone who works with families even if they are not seeking therapy. A intervention at anytime up until Chris started seeing Nichol, might have saved this family. It’s a tragedy that was completely unexpected by every one, except maybe Cindy Watts. IMO She suspected there might be a tragic outcome to this union. SHE WAS 100% right.

@@shirleydrake1602That's a psychotic take, because you don't murder your entire family because life isn't going well at the moment. My life is a catastrophe and I'm not killing anyone. It's quite obvious, I don't know how anyone who understand basic psychology can't see that, but perhaps you don't possess the basic knowledge needed here.

@@carrained You’re right, I’m not a psychiatrist. I do “process basic knowledge “ since I have been a RN since 1978 and have worked in the field for MANY years. Knowledge doubles every few years in many fields . Today the buzz word is narcissistic, or narcissistic sociopath. Which is what Dr Phill labeled Chris. Probably, we will never know what happened with Chris that night. Maybe someday a talented young professional will do a case study on him which will shed light on what really happened. I personally feel he is autistic at some level which caused his social awkwardness. His IQ is 130, so he certainly has enough intelligence to have planned his crimes better. He had no sadness over the loss, and it showed. Something happened in the month before the murders. He did mention one time that the intention was to explode those oil tanks blaming the deaths on the explosion. The the plan was to sue Anadarko, since they were out of compliance with the court ordered safety regulations. IMO , the patches he was wearing for weight loss contributed to his uncontrollable rage in the case. I have seen that before to a lesser degree. I also feel there was something wrong with the pregnancy, possibly even to the point of a miscarriage. Shannan had been hurting all day Sunday and the reports stated there was a large amount of blood loss AND. She had delivered baby Niko.
IMO , the case should be studied by law enforcement and physiologist alike. There were MANY warning signs that family was in trouble. The poor children had zero options, but the adults did.

I love Emma Kenny, however I respectfully disagree with the statement that ‘Chris Watts is a new kind of murderer, the like the world has never seen before.’ There has been family annihilation for as long as there have been families. There are so many examples of this that I don't know which one to choose... Let's just at go with the List family. Father is a fine, upstanding citizen, who is raising a family in a lovely part of town in an enormous palatial house and working as an accountant. Turns out he has money issues too and wants a ‘do-over’, so one day he murders all the occupants in the home. He shoots his wife, 3 children and, mother in law, drags them into the ballroom of the house, turns the air conditioning up full blast, turns on classical music full blast, makes phone calls and writes letters to excuse the absences and disappears. Turns out he could not afford the life he was living and wanted to make a few tweaks to his kids. It was much easier to blast them out of existence. Decades later is is caught through a likeness on America’s Most Wanted and was found to have recreated his life entirely. The only reason that C Watts is on everyone’s lips is because of CZcams. His horrible crimes played out in near real time and people felt an intimacy here to for never experienced, especially since there are so many videos offering insider peeks into the family’s daily life. These are new and different times...... people though, they remain the same. He is not a new type of citizen, person, or murderer, so I don’t get this video’s push to stress a newly minted kind of killer. Thanks.

What's worse is how there's people who believe his wife drove him to it ... she didn't . They all had a great laugh because one of the family said that rambunctious little CeCe (the youngest murdered daughter) was causing it to malfunction. She and Chris Watts both had a good chuckle about that. Neither one showed any sadness whatsoever like it was something cute that happened at a family picnic! I doubt there was a dry eye in the entire world when the news broke that they were all dead and had been murdered by by the man who gave those news interviews on his porch the very next day after they were reported missing. This newsbreak hit us all hard, we all prayed for Shan’ann’s family and friends. After they were finally laid to rest the healing had to begin but little did we know how much disgusting behaviour would ensue and the unheard of continual suffering the Rzucek family would face ahead. From day one Cindy Watts, super proud mother of Chris Watts took to the media and up to this very day is spewing painful trashing of his victims. It has been over two years and this vile hatred of Shan’ann and her three babies continues. The entire Watts family has yet to show one bit of remorse for what Christopher Lee Watts did. Please Lord, let it stop. It is sick beyond human understanding.

What freaks me out, serial killers are never allowed pictures or memorabilia from their victims, but good old Chris has photos of his victims in his cell, because they are his family. How sick is this?!?

This was the best, the most thought provoking 46 minutes I have found regarding Chris Watts annihilation of his family!
Thank you!!! Your shared insight was priceless. It explains why he reacted with deadly force at Shannan saying he wasn’t going to see his kids again....then he made sure he would never see them again by murdering them with his own hands. The thought of what Bella was thinking, feeling as she watched him take her baby sister’s life right in front of her. My God.....the emotions that 4 year old Bella... that very sweet, kind and intelligent 4 year old daughter must have felt and knowing how hard she fought to live....is unfathomable and heartbreaking down to the bone.

I’ve watched a lot of Emma’s videos now. This story is deeply and truly horrific. The thing that makes her videos so unique is she ALWAYS relates to the victims, no matter how painful. She gives a voice to the victims final moments. The victims are often overlooked in so so so many crime videos/shows/retelling. The empathy she feels for every victim resonates in my heart and soul. Thank you for always putting the victims first. Thank you for bringing the humanity back to true crime. And as a mother - thank you for bringing the highly empathic female eye to the forefront. ✨💖✨

Another thing that also made me crazy is that he was in such anger. He was angry because he'd never see his children again. If that was the case why did he kill them. His mother's instilled personality came out

If some people find it necessary to defend the actions of Chris Watts because Shanann "deserved it", remember, he didn't just kill his wife. He also killed his unborn son and two little girls. So, did they deserve it too?
