Spot on. GR is their principle driver for now and into the future. He needs his role cemented by their second seat strategy. Carlos "passing through" puts a known quantity in the second seat who "knows" he's in the second seat and all he has to do is behave himself, protect the car, and bring home some reasonable points. No pressure scenario for both Carlos and MB. THEN, when Carlos goes to Audi, they can bring up their new young hotshoe into a team that has had another year of maturation and positive car development so that he must adapt to the team, rather than the team trying to adapt to him. The Audi deal sounds pretty serious and very positive for Carlos, the smooth operator.
HP sauce is sponsoring Ferrari?? Very up market move. Though really I would have thought Heinz would be a better match with their big red sauce, it's a more natural fit IMO. 😊

@@AdhokshajAshrit-jd7hd That whole squad is weird to me.. Both teams! If both RB teams underperformed like Renault or Haas, I would suggest that they sell to GM. They have too many Championships now. But they have no value in motorsports beyond sponsorships, marketing & promotions. They have NO plans to make any production vehicle components, ever! Who do you feel they will choose?
If I was sainze I'd go for the Red Bull contract even though it's a lower dollar amount because here's your one chance to prove yourself against one of the greatest drivers
I think Audi would be best served with either Sainz & Nico.....or Sainz and Bottas.
