Internet is $55.93 in Boston area with Xfinity. That would be a toss up of time to/from and gas to get to a library everytime I wanted access - and hope there is an open computer. I won't be replacing my printer at home when the one I have dies though (the toner set to replace costs more than the printer!). For the rare thing I need to print now, it would be smart to print at the library. I have never smoked and don't drink. I can't imagine how much that would cost - in addition to what I'd pay later with heath care costs and poor quality of life. I just created a 2024 budget yesterday, and I will be on a no-buy year - I'm going to try to stick with only those items in my budget and meet my savings goal I've set. I'm frugal so I am not homeless as a single woman when I am no longer able to work. I also would rather pad my pockets than a CEO's at a corporation.

Very good advice other than internet. It may work for some but I love my internet ( not cable). I communicate with my friends/family/groups that I belong to on Facebook daily. While our library does have free internet you are limited to I believe a hour or so a day ( I live in a large metropolitan area). I am always wanting to learn new ways of doing things, new recipes to try etc. I am not a homesteader but enjoy learning frugal living. I admit I am quite spoiled in being able to access information immediately at my finger tips. Yes I have a cell phone but mine is very small and not as enjoyable as my PC. I watch free you tube movies and of course all the wonderful homesteaders I watch on you tube. I am thankful to the Lord and my husband who passed away a few months ago to be completely 100% debt free. Thank you for sharing your tips sorry I won't be able to hear your podcast that is something I am not up to date on using. I try to keep it simple. I have TV's have not turned them on since husband passed away, another thing I use the Internet for is listening to the local news or reading it online. I love reading and get 90% of my books from the library ordering online and picking them up, same with DVD's. Anna In Ohio
