This presentation by the Asia Society is highly superficial and not convincing. Your objectivity is becoming seriously eroded. Why is it China's responsibility to solve the Ukraine crisis? China's relationship with Europe is primarily based on trade. Why is Europe not actively "derisking" its relationship with the United States and reducing it's dependence on America? This is a major concern for the future. Europe also needs to be realistic about its critical need for lower cost energy via diverse sources to maintain economic growth and societal stability. You need to adapt EU foreign policy accordingly based on the above.

China's supposedly mutually beneficial relationship with Europe (which was really one of exploitation and gradual subjugation of Europe through sustained trade deficit for an entire generation) is now over. Europe just doesn't know it yet, but China does, and China isn't yet ready to tell the whole truth of its intentions. Ukraine is gone, irretrievably, and Taiwan is next, unless Europe helps stop them. The talk from yesterday, where a "blockade" was mentioned, but the host dared not say the word "war, was equally out of touch with reality. Taiwan has been independent for the past 70 years, and this condition is clearly no longer tolerable for the CCP, and therefore, war is inevitable, unless China can intimidate Taiwan into submission by less violent means, and if they can simply intimidate Taiwan into submission, why not do the same with Europe?
China sensed cowardice and fear in Europe when Von Der Leyen shied away from de-coupling. They know they have the Europeans under their thumb, just as Russia did with energy, and now they intend to start applying pressure with that same thumb, until Europe cracks.

Yes, the NordStream 2 destruction would have waken Europe to their master intention of sacrificing them for the sake of destroying Russia. How sad that this is supposed to be a think tank paid to think. But their source of funding is nothing short of the NED/CIA source. So how to think???

the funny part is one claimed that china has not called zelinski, but what to talk with zelinski? He does not have enough power to decide anything. He needs to talk to his boss(EU, NATO, U.S.)。According to EU's talk, Russia must withdrawal all troops. You really think the talk will have any positive effect?

Hear, hear. They changed it into Indo Pacific to try and convince the Indians they have a place at the table to demonise China. It has always been Asia Pacific and it will never change as Asia is a continent and Pacific is a body of water. From inception it was Asia Pacific as China calls it right to the present. When they allude to Indo Pacific you know they are the spear carrier for the "democrazies" like Australia, New Zealand and Canada, all dispossessors of native land and genoicide the original inhabitants.

In WWII the Russians, as an Allied Power, defeated the Wehrmacht in seven of the largest land battles in history (Casualties): Leningrad 1941-1944 (1.12M), Barbarossa, 1941 (1.4M), Stalingrad 1942-1943 (1.25M), Kiev 1941 (740K), Dnieper 1943 (1.58M), Kursk 1943 (1.0M), and Berlin 1944 (1.3M). It has been the goal of the American capitalist war machine to destroy the Russian state. Putin has simply exposed the truth of the matter! Russia will destroy the Washington DC neocon's Ukraine project along with the phony NATO shakedown racket! Semper Fi! Kilroy. Asia Society, WTFU! from NYC.
