I use AirPods with my old 4s. It’s funny how the earbuds cost more than my music device
It’s too bad you have to connect it manually through Bluetooth but it’s still a nice thing to have

I still use a 5th gen iPod classic regularly for my cd rips and other music you can't get on streaming services. I would kill for not only a re-release of an iPod but also a classic with bluetooth
There is one, called the touch!
I still use my 5th gen iPod classic as well. There are some mod to add bluetooth on it but you ave to be handy. Also, bluetooth will use some energy from the battery.
@@francoisparen the first bluetooth transmitter that he showed you can use that with a modded ipod there a guide of sort on YT using it. but as you said yeah got to be able to solder a little although tbh does not look hard to do if really wanted it.

I disagree, if Mr. jobs would have envisioned this Bluetooth would have been in all iPods that are later than 3rd gen, by that point in time Bluetooth was obviously here to stay. I honestly believe that CrApple missed the boat by not putting bluetooth into the iPod. Had they done this the iPod would have remained current much longer. The iPod touch was a failure imo mostly due to lack of storage but also would be unnecessary if the (now named) iPod Classic had Bluetooth just put the iPod touch larger screen onto the Classic you have the best of both retro and function.......once again just my opinion

Just make an adapter case that clips into the bottom of the iPod and fit the hardware inside, use the FireWire for power job done.

To everyone that says Airpods only work in devices with iOS: The airpods is based on Bluetooth earphones, so everyone with Bluetooth can use them.
I was waiting for the pairing process to be in the video.
Seen internal Bluetooth mods for iPod Classics. Don’t need to be charged and just a small hole drilled in case so that the antenna from the BT module gets a decent signal. Way better option...will edit post if I can find a link.

This would also be good for connecting a laptop or desktop that doesn't have Bluetooth as well .
A better option for that would be a simple USB Bluetooth dongle, since you wouldn't have to worry about recharging it. Or, if it's a desktop, then get a PCI-E card that adds it.

the airpods volume was low because the volume is set to the max at whatever the volume was set as on the last apple device. set the volume to max on iphone, then connect back to the ipod and it should have proper volume control.

The headphone jack, a wonderful piece of engineering that even adapted to bluetooth.
Thus Apple removed it from the iPhones because money.

Seems like the volume issue is caused by AirPods itself. I tried to connect AirPods to my Nokia E71, and I just CANNOT adjust volume, it kept playing music at the loudest volume and made it totally unusable on those old devices.
Can you make them work with an old original gameboy? Or a DS? Or maybe psp? Idk I just wanna see the limits of that bluetooth transmitter

91Tech i have a question for you so I found a bluegate RXT T/R and it would connect to my AirPods I herd it connect but I could not hear what was playing on my original iPod would you know by chance why this is happening?
get an aux extension but a small one and if they don’t have small ones you can cut it and solder it back so you can bend it all the way back
If you have an iPod 3rd gen or newer just get a transmitter that plugs in the 30 pin connector
