Well this is weirdly specific to my interests. There’s a new video game blowing up on the internet right now that has both Steven Universe AND Adventure Time characters in it! It’s a platform fighter (aka Super Smash Bros clone) called MultiVersus! And as part of my never ending mission to pretend my favorite cartoons aren’t over, I gotta check this out. Fun fact: Originally Garnet's loss animation had her GETTING POOFED with the exact same effect as when she got hit with Jasper's destabiliser. It was changed to something less brutal.

i actually think only having 4 free characters is fine (with the character roster we have rn). It gives me motivation to play a lot of matches to unlock the new characters
Yeah I agree I think they should add like 6 free once they have like 10 more new characters

For me, i legit have my hopes up for a ben 10 update for the roster, they legit just need to add ben, gwen, rook and kevin to the game as playable characters!!
the free characters also rotate, usually when they add something new to the game liek new characters and such, so... you dont get bored eassilly actually.
I think it should be 5 free characters, 1 for each class

When this game was announced and I saw GoT, DC, Iron Giant, and Looney Toons characters, the last franchise I expected to be included was Steven Universe but I am in no way complaining

The reason why you can't really get steven and Finn's shop to work is because they were made for experts like they know what they are doing because there is this thing for Finn called buy and go where you take a split second (at least 1-3 frames) and buy an upgrade and heal support for steven where he uses the heal ability as quickly as possible and the block quickly then heal that way
the tutorial was great for me as someone who loves to play smash competitively the precise difference in controls helped me pick it up really fast
though for a casual player i can definitely see how it would be annoying
You know I can forgive the whole Finn having his human arm thing, but what I cannot forgive is that they completely missed the opportunity to have fins attacks being based on his different SWORDS! he's had so many swords with different abilities throughout the series and he's a sword guy! he loves swords! he's known as a sword fighter! what the fuck man!? Imagine switching swords to fight!? you know what I could do with the grass sword!? or... the demon blood sword!? 😕😈☻️
A better sword makes sense as an upgrade actually.
Could you imagine if he had his grass arm as a special attack :0
But the amazing thing is having the sword out while he moves. He can do that and it’s OP

I wish they went with Steven from the movie or future as he is so much stronger in those and his moves could have been more unique and original. I hope they at least get added as alternative costumes.
The moveset was actually made with Future Steven in mind. Warner Bros told them to change it because classic Steven is more recognizable.

@y3t1cr4b5 For real. Tom and Jerry are a “mage” character, which in Multiversus, means that the character is a lot about using it’s tricks and utility to make the stage a confusing hell for your opponents.
In Toms case he can shoot Jerry away from himself via a slingshot, or even strap him to a remote controlled rocket. Either move will separate the two characters from each other and do damage to opponents hit by them.
Jerry will remain stationary unless he’s picked up be a teammate in 2v2 in which case he’ll follow said teammate around.
Once separated, Tom and Jerry can shoot projectiles at each other and create a sort of volley that covers the space between them. They can do this until they run out of projectiles at which point the ability to shoot projectiles will be on cooldown for a bit.
Tom can reunite with Jerry at any time and it’s generally unsafe to keep the two separated for too long since if Jerry is killed he won’t respawn until a cooldown ends. Leaving Tom with fewer options and a weaker moveset.
Tom’s moveset changes a bit when separated from Jerry, with certain moves turning into weaker versions of themselves and others becoming entirely different.
Tom can also place down a mousetrap that deals significant damage to any opponent that touch it, making it a sort of looming threat if you want to avoid.
There’s a lot more of course, but this is probably what’s most notable about the character as a concept and this reply is already long enough as is.
Overall, Tom and Jerry is a very projectile based character, which seems to be a common thing among the “mage” classes of which there are currently two, those being Bugs Bunny and Tom and Jerry, with Rick Sanchez being added in the near future.

Note to everyone: The tutorial missions of this game (which consist as stuff as strenuous as opening the Settings menu) give you enough coins to buy even an Expert character. Your favorite might seem temping, but they’re probably not worth $10 USD. Besides, Finn ended up being my main anyways!

multiversus can be such a chaotic game but it is SO FUN

Stevens 10 because he's considered "expert" both in coin and gemnium, the expert characters are more expensive.

I honestly don’t really like Steven’s new voice in multiversus I knew about Stevens voice actor taking a break but I thought they were gonna take voice lines from the original show or post “change your mind” and Garnets voice is good however whenever I use her it feels like she only has one line I dunno what it was but it was getting kinda annoying after a while one character I’d love to see get the multiversus treatment is 100000% SPINEL! I think they’d be able to do something really cool with her and if she does get added I’d main her.... Until Rick from well rick and morty gets added

What I ABSOLUTELY HATE about MultiVersus is that the free version makes you watch 1 FULL HOUR of Twitch. I wonder how this went at the marketing department. “Hey ummm, how do we make people play our game? Maybe we should make them create an account-“ “NO, NO, NO, WAIT!!!! HOW ABOUT WE MAKE THEM CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND MAKE THEM WATCH AN HOUR OF TWITCH!!!! AND IF THEY DON’T WANNA DO THAT THEY CAN PAY 100 BUCKS!!” Great way to market your game Warner Bros.

There aren’t really 4 “free” characters at a time, it takes very little to earn the gold required to purchase the characters for free. Its incredibly standard.
