Man you're going to need to put out a top 10 list.
That'd be nice. Too bad he's only the CZcams Tech Home Shopping Network 🛍
@@zerocal76 And I love him for it.
search jackstone, it's in Chinese with English subtitle, similar reviews with full ranking history. Either youtube or ETA block any comments with link, but not hard to find.
oooh they went back to a normal barrel jack for power instead of the magnetic connector. Sweet.
I just bought this. This is my first mini pc. I've got a SK Hynix 2tb Gen 4 ssd that I would love to stick in this thing. I'd like to see some console emulation if you could. I bet that stuff looks unbelievable on this.
I never really see any major differences in these mini pcs except ports and they are still basically the same.
All the super minis are limited by heat dissipation. Only changes in processor generation can lead to meaningful performance upgrades. But beside that, isn't your comment the story of PCs for the last 30 years? Faster, some new ports, etc. Software is where the real change is.
there are a lot of differences. You can all kinds of CPUs for it, some allow for full ssd, some dont, some have dual ethernet, some have fans, others dont. I mean, what do you expect, you need a minipc that can cook your dinner?
a big misconception. for example, you will have two mini-PCs running on the same hardware, but one processor will run at 35 watts, the other at 65 watts. According to the final performance, these will be two completely different devices. And some of them are almost unsuitable for serious work and games, for example Peladn HA-4. His memory overheats and as a result, performance drops everywhere, and freezes and lags appear in games. But there is no such thing in SER7 or GTR7. Not to mention that USB 4 40 Gbps is not everywhere.
What major differences could they have? They can have different CPU's and cooling setups, some can do 2 SSD's, but otherwise they're all made around a mostly standardized board size so there's not going to be huge differences.
You want to know why they're all the same? They're not designed for consumers, they're designed for businesses.
These Beelinks go dummy hard as an all-in-one Plex/Overseerr server.
Great I guess, they need to hit the lab and all these companies need to come up with something competitive!
I have one of these on each of my 4 televisions around the house. They're great for streaming in 4k.
They finally ship to my country!
I've been interested in these high core count mini-pcs. Low watt mini VM server use case 👀
This is about the perfect IO layout imo, assuming you don't care about Oculink (which most don't). I'd just do a fresh build with 2x 4tb NVME drives and slap it on the back of a monitor for a clean and very usable all rounder.
I recently bought a GMKtek K8, and it's on the back of my 4K LG monitor. I installed FreeBSD 14.1, Mint, and KDE Neon. FreeBSD won't open an X display, but I'm patient.
Finally. Audio jack on the back. Praise the Lord.
Yet the usb4 is on the front....just fail
Just use a cheap USB DAC if you really want to plug speakers to the back.
@@lllongreen USB4 is on the back.
Front is just a USB C 10Gbs.
He got it backwards. It's on Beelink info.
@@hanley6478 A mini pc is supposed to be used as a normal desktop with monitor, keyboard, mouse AND speakers attached. Why should an audio jack not be routed to both the front and the back? Is it not a much cheaper and more stable solution as compared to a bulky USB adapter?
No Oculink so why buy this over the Minisforum UM780 which can be had in the US off Amazon for $575??
im just patiently waiting for the strix models before i touch a mini pc
I would love to see a mini pc that come with a battery fit in them.
Hey, why is that in some vids you put the out of the wall power draw and in some you don't? I am all about power efficiency so it is quite key (especially the idle one). Thanks for your awesome vids! :)
This seems like the ultimate emulation station... probably going to order one for livingroom usage. Will probahbly give steamos a try, also curious how well rpcs3 will run more difficult titles.
what a timely recommendation of the key store, I just needed a key for Windows. Thx, fast and cheap
I'm also waiting for my own version for review, the ser 8 ultra. there is a lot of information in the Russian segment, we have to fill the gap)
love the new design. hopefully they put faster chips on this new design.
It is already fast. Multicore performance is 16900, according to Cinebench R23. That is on par with an engineering workstation from 2 years ago.
@@akin242002But only 3/4 of what strix will do lol
The picture on the website says the usb4 is actually in the back and the usb-c is the front one.
I thought they were both on the back
Some of the benchmarks is showing Ryzen 9 8945HS instead of 8845HS... did you get the video benchmarks mixed up with the Geekom A8 Mini?
I wanna know what happens if you max out the mini PC. Give it as much VRAM as it'll accept and max out the TDP, then compare the benchmarks.
This is the one to go for the 8945hs throttles after a while under load.
Did you know when you see something with youtube video dropouts, that DPC latency often plays a big role in that? Hence another example of why I suggested testing it on Windows PCs.
Hi ETA, can you ask PRIME if the 2nd audio jack at the rear is a duplicate of the one in the front or does this computer have two separated sound cards (or one with double audio I/O) ?
One of the time bomb of this kind of device is the fan, when it is worn it is not sure you will find a replacement part and when you do, it is often tagged with an unrealistic price - this is why I'll never buy one unless they make it bigger and use one or two standard fan(s) to force ventilation. Not to mention that this particular brand is known to have a deplorable customer service.
Def nice Mac Mini type look.. just smaller
the beelink website actually says the front usb-c port is 3.2, and that the rear one is usb4
Isn't the Speedometer browser benchmark more of a test of Safari vs. Chrome?

Whould be nice to se if fps changes if video memory was changed to the dubble
There’s a new one coming out each day 😮💨
I would like you to make a top 10 list of the most powerful talk to the weakest so far I'm having a hard time trying to keep up and figure it out with all the mini PCS that are on the market
Just look for anything with a 780m.
Hello. Can you do some emulation tests with this mini PC?
Hey ETA Prime! I was wondering if you can play native ripped 1080p high bit rate and 4k high bitrate movies on these mini PCs? Because on streaming services the bit rates are really low and on CZcams the videos are really compressed even the audio is compressed alot. So it would be interesting to see these chips play high bit rate 1080p or even 4k videos.
Snapdragon Dev Kit, powered by Snapdragon X Elite from Qualcomm, is a compact form-factor PC that provides significantly better performance with no fan noise, even surpassing Apple Silicon.
Is there a possibility that you'll put out a tier list for these micro PCs? I bought the SER6 Pro last year and now we're at SER8 like this is hard to navigate.
Seriously, I thought this video's already uploaded couple days ago. I couldn't tell the difference
How will this run as a dedicated streaming pc? I’m looking for a mini pc to run as a dedicated streaming pc, so I’ll really only use it for obs with a capture card and some light browsing. Is this a good option for that?
Finally they put the USB A port in the right direction
if it can handle cyberpunk i assume it can run doom eternal and borderlands 3? also would dedicating more memory to the GPU boost performance?
beelink spec sheet says triple display ports. have you verified if this works with 4 displays?
Wish AMD made the 16-core for the 8000 series just as they did for the 7945HX.
I'm interested in a Mac mini sized PC
Hi ETA, thanks for the review. I'm very interested in the performance of these mini PCs and I would love to know or see if it is possible to run software like Autodesk Revit or Lumion on it.
Great Video, in the vram setup is there a limit to how much you can dedicate to the GPU? say 16 GB of ram?
Yes. And it is 16.
You should start comparing with other mini pcs
Hey, new subscriber here, can we get a xDefiant benchmark? Very interested
Legion Go or SER8? WHICH best for beginners on windows?
❤ this... Tiny mini pc
If Opencore can turn this into a real Mac then I'm sold. :)
pls post links!
I have one, my main reason to buy it was how noisy my old Beelink was - this one is pretty much silent.
Where is the link where to get it? Is it on Amazon?
Geekbanch test says "ubuntu operating system" ?
❤ I have a older model
What is the keyboard you are using?
If Geekom would make one of their variants with Oculink that would be awesome. I think they make the nicest mini pcs.
Thé site suggests that the RAM can be upgraded to 256 GB. Am I reading it right?
SER8 supports dual-channel DDR5 5600MHz RAM of up to 256GB
I've yet to see any RAM kits beyond 96 GB. 96 GB works.
How about loading android/Google tv
How’s fan noise?
Love the Beelink SER6 Max but I’ve heard the SER8 got louder?
Please compare another mini pc
wow it better then my laptop
Still no active cooling on the NVME or memory....
Lo único que le falta para ser perfecto es que tenga un puerto Oculink.
Please show us Chimera OS on this machine 🙏
Hi bro, I need your advise in buying this devices 12th Gen Mini PC Beelink SEi12, i5-1235U 10-Core 12-Thread vs Beelink SER5 Max, AMD Ryzen 7 5800H 8-Core 16-Thread 4.4GHz Processor - Majoj Purpose is office work, gaming & 3d work
what about heat also fan noise
if you pay attention, the ryzen in the ser8 is RYZEN 7. which means, have the lower base clock version of the radeon 780m in it. which means still below the previous mini PC "new" this channel shown the other day, the geekom A8. that one use ryzen 9.
also, in asia, the price listing of the previous version of beelink ser7 is somewhat higher than the previous version of geekom A7. so, most likeley, since i already see very affordable price listing of the A8 in asia, the beelink ser8 would be on the higher price level, while it still uses ryzen 7 instead of 9.
people buy these stuff for the compact and affordability.
The Geekom A8 is throttled by thermals, so in practice it performs identically.
The keyboard! Please, brand and model!
Do you have long term reviews about mini PCs?
Will it work with other Linux or FreeBsd
The New Beelink SER8 looks really an amazing new mini PC. Mini PCs are the Future of PC Gaming! 😮😊
Where can I buy it
whats the fastest rdna 3 mini pc so far?
Something is up. Under Base Frequency it says 6.68 Ghz. That is NOT the base frequency...
I did see on another review issues with bluetooth Wi-Fi reach any feedback on that?
Swap it out for an Intel AX210 and you're good.
So the Ser8 is basically a Ser7 with better looks, but only one USB4 port?
I can guess they need to different model and improve hardware design. I seen some copy cat model or rebrand as their own.
Can you run snowrunner
It's like a really specific game n no-one is running it on this apu 😭😭😭
How does the SER8 stack up against the Minisforum UM790 Pro?
Geekbench records for the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 leaked the other day. The SER8 performs identically to it. Likely due to better cooling.
What the use case for these boxes since they cost as much or more than a similarly spec'd laptop? You're better off buying a laptop where you can travel and take your games with you. Traveling with this thing requires a suitcase load of peripherals such as a keyboard, mouse and LCD screen.
If I were traveling, I'd rather play games on a Nintendo Switch or PlayStation Portal-or actually going places and doing things other than gaming when I can do that at home. Laptops are more prone to critical hardware failure. I've never had a laptop last more than a few years without the hinge, or barrel charging port breaking. It's also unhealthy to bring them to bed. As a software developer, this has better single and multi-threaded performance than a laptop. This also works perfectly for a setup I have in my living room where I have a large 4K monitor on an arm mount clamped to a sturdy height-adjustable side table with wheels. When the day comes that you want to retire it, you can use it as a TV box, server, or give it to someone to use as a desktop replacement.
@@mmstick When I travel, it's usually for work so a laptop is a necessity. Being able to game on it is a plus after hours at the hotel.
SER8 Bios V27 Speedometer Result:
Windows 11 LTSC 26100.1150 (Chrome) = 26.2
Manjaro KDE 24.0.3 (Chrome) = 46.2
I wish I could buy this in India ❤
Brand and model of the keyboard in the background?

I ordered mine after watching this review. However, i received it with the old fashioned brick heavy charger. WTF Beelink!!
Update: I contacted Beelink support and they apologized and sent me the new generation charger free of cost. Kudos!
Im waiting for good ARM based Mini PCs. Until now only Qualcomm APUs were allowed to run Windows on ARM. Nor all can do. Maybe Nvidia, AMD or even Intel will come up with good ARM hardware the next years.
Or the smallest Strix Halo might be also good. 32CU and 8 cores at about 100W. These PCs should outperform this Mini PC by far. Even if i reduce the power limit to 60W it should get twice FPS.
wake on power/lan ?
Why not try a GEEKOM mini PC? It equipped with AMD Ryzen 9 or 13th Gen Intel Core i9/i7😉
You buy the PC, then you have to buy an activation key?
Why don't you mention the price? I just bought a GMKtek K8 for $640. I prefer metal chassis, but the price diff, I'll take the plastic case. 8o)
No comparison with the competition and cons. You promoted the GMKTECH K8 and I bought it and wasted my $480 you should be ashamed.
dpc-latency?
That windows 11 with the keylogger and tracking from Microsoft to me is a no go and a violation of ones privacy.
and price same as mac mini
I don't see a difference between the 7840HS and this other than the Radeon AI is faster in this newer chip by 6 Tops. It would make this unit a little more usable than the 7840HS in AI.
Speedometer 3 kind of sucks. I get literally 4-5 more points if i use edge over chrome.
You can actually get the score higher with some trickery too. its not a good benchmark imo.
arm base is the future, x86 should disuse
I’m looking to buy a mini pc for retro gaming, game cube, ps1 &2, Xbox 360 any recommendations?
Commodore 64
Please add fortnite for benchmark 🙏
How is this compared to SER7?
maybe the CPU, even the CPU spect almost the same
currently $650 with coupon...still, i'd rather get the minisforum xtx which can go as high as 100w with an oculink port if you really want the extra push for $430 (barebones) or $330 (with amazon card)....granted it has the 7840hs processor but it pretty much can do everything this ser8 can do right out of the box, and then some...so why pay $200 - $300 more?... beelink should have done a bit more with it considering...I'm currently sporting a ser4 so this would be a huge upgrade if I were to go with it, but the minisforum seems like a more practical and financial solution that is more capable than this new ser8.
650 is the retail price if you buy direct from their website. I don't see the use case in buying this for the purpose of gaming with a dGPU. If you were wanting a dGPU to begin with, you should have gotten a desktop PC with a full PCIe port. Mini ITX and Micro ATX systems can accommodate large graphics cards in a small form factor.
@mmstick if you're referring to me, everything you mentioned is too big for my liking.
