- The Beelink Ser8 is pretty small, pretty plain looking, but it packs a PUNCH!

just ended my shift and was greeted with a new techdweeb video , great way to start the afternoon
I have no reason to get one of these at the moment, but I love seeing how these are getting better and cheaper all the time
Life ain't nothin but A-holes and C-holes.
facts
I've got an SER6 that I use to run all my multiplayer servers and that thing is a little tank. Fantastic devices.
I hope mom didn’t hear you say “Bada$$” from the basement. No Mac and Cheese for you tonight 😂
🤫
The saving grace of this mini PC in the sea of mini PC's is the integrated AMD 780m GPU. It is going to have the same graphics horsepower as the handheld market.
4:44 tOo ExpEnsIve, did not listen
The problem isn't that there aren't enough charging cables to feed starving children. It's the charging cable distribution system that needs to change.
They are delicious though.
Taste like black licorice!
Good review. Thanks for sharing.
The cutaways to our Adventure Time bros warm my heart every time. Currently have an SER5Max running Batocera. It'll run just about anything emulation-wise, not to mention the steam titles that run in linux. Still watched because Beelink has impressed me with their hardware.
Okay, Dweeb I gotta tell you you are genuinely funny. Please do not stop your skits. Please get more unhinged! 😂
At about the 4 minute mark I had to pause the video at the specs and went "Woah hold on, how much does this thing cost, (clicks link) ... ohh... okay, no wonder." Twice the price of my current computer, after upgrades.
this is on my list for this year.
My last mini pc was a MINISFORUM EM780. So small, so powerful, so cool!
I can't put my finger on it but that mini PC reminds me of a certain fruit.
It's all about the Mac Mini/ Intel NUC form factor. If it is your thing, I guess it's OK. If you do not know what your "thing" is, Best Buy and Micro Center always have entry level gaming laptops on sale with a similar price point and better performance (Dedicated Graphics Card). Same thing applies to pre-built and roll- your -own. I am just happy Tech Dweeb got another free PC. That is all that matters anyway.
With that storage drive added, I could totally use this thing as my main desktop PC.
i basically do and its great! i've got the ser 7 which is almost the same. bought it in october last year and i'm using it everyday for watching videos or light to medium gaming. cant complain
@@Mustis91 I've been spending most of my time lately with an old NUC made 8 years ago, so even a cheap N100 mini PC would be a big upgrade.
C-holes are my favorite by far!
I just set it up this mini PC is great, I might buy another one
Around back is the heatsink where the air exits. The dust screen is at the bottom just inside the case.
I love all Crucial products❤
Not gonna lie, that Lithuania stuff got me : D
I'm a bit of a fan of these 780m mini pcs. I have the 7940HS, but have yet to actually do anything with it other than compare it to my other PCs. The best thing I can say about it is that it's amazingly efficient.
Amazing video as always Dweeb! Everytime I see you review one of those, I think to myself I should pick one up and see if I like 'em, plus this one got all the holes! 🤣
Thanks my dude! I'm constantly amazed at how far these things have come. Crazy to think that you'd need a big desktop PC from not that long ago to compare to tiny things like this!
Nice Atari joystick. Been a minute since I last saw one of those.
I like the integrated GPUs that come with Ryzen. I have a Ryzen 5 with the radeon whatever and it is pretty surprisingly decent for a lot of things. If this one can do that well with Cyberpunk, it can definitely run anything I want to run on it just fine. The price point is still a little less than I expect to pay for my eventual desktop replacement, and I have Prime. ;)
u make me laff.....ty for this.
I've got a good 2-3 years remaining for my current desktop and I'm definitely leaning towards one of these mini PCs when it's time to upgrade it. I really am tired of paying $300-500 for a "good" video card alone so if the power of the iGPUs keeps up I'm highly tempted to go this route in the future. It's just so much more...minimal
By that time the next Steamdeck will be out and that will be incredible
@@SpongeBob.Ripped what im banking on that or a better igpu in the gpd mini
@@SpongeBob.Ripped I switched from Steam Deck to AyaNeo Slide a few months back and it's nice having full Windows AND a physical keyboard. I hated the pop up on the ROG Ally. It's got the same 780M as this mini PC and I have yet to run into a game I can't at least run on low settings and play
@@TheFTPchannel I've liked GPD for a long time but in terms of price to performance they literally couldn't compete with steam even if they wanted to. Valve could LOSE money on each Steamdeck sale and still be perfectly fine because they make the money back via every game sale. No other company has that luxury
@@SpongeBob.Ripped thats valid i play a lot of apex and easy anti cheat games plus r6 n stuff so when i tried the steam deck i just wasn't loving i ended up selling it I'm looking at the 2024 mini right now
Do you know if it comes with a thunderbolt 3 port?
I did the same thing with elden ring. I bought the dlc and now I have to remember how to play. This mini PC looks pretty good and the price is really good too.
I hear ya about that Doom section. I remember it well, but buck up little camper, we'll conquer that level together. I have a BeeLink in my bedroom and I love it even though I hardly ever use it. And a tip of the hat for the shout-out to that Crucial drive. I want one of those... bad.
I was just about to choose between ser7 and ayaneo am02 and ser8 came out pre order in China. I purchased 32g/1T version for €480 which is 40 euro cheaper than the am02. The only negative part from reviews is the WiFi performance so I bought an Intel ax210 wifi card. I'll change it if the WiFi is too bad.
Is this better than the Minisforum UM890 Pro?
To compare to the AM02, I wonder what you'd get in Witcher 3 at 1080p, balanced FSR, medium settings.
can you try the geekom A8?
I would be interested in using this to play VR games with Quest 2. Live For Speed or maybe Microsoft Flight Simulator if possible?
I love my Ser6 Max so I don't think I'm upgrading, but wild we're already on Ser8 lol
yeah i think until the next gen igpus are here, it's not really worth it to upgrade.
You might consider yourself bad at DOOM Eternal, but at least you've gotten further than I did. I only reached the subway and the room just after the jump with two Cacodemons at once. Gave it an hour of trying then uninstalled. :/
I like the way you say hole instead of port 😁😅
It reminds me of the old mac mini.
I love my beelink.
Can you make a video about the best cheap mini pc for retro gaming? Super cheap but plenty of power for consoles up to the ps1, maybe some ps2.
I want one. But I want the one you have.
Hey Tech Dweeb, did you happen to try running Baldurs Gate 3 on this? I've been thinking about getting a mini PC over a standard one as PC gaming is not my primary gaming method, but for me something like BG3 would be a benchmark for what I would want it to play relatively well.
I didn't on this one, but I did on a different mini PC that has the same GPU, so the performance should be very similar: czcams.com/video/y9vRZ2aGmxc/video.html
@@TechDweeb awesome, thank you so much for the reply! Love the videos
I feel like these types have back doors in the bios/firmware/uefi
What about emulation? How high ya think it can play?
Probably similar to a Steam Deck
Make a tutorial on how you set up your portable game drive please 🙏 😊
Man, this looks sick. 750 is a bit of a steep price point for me but very nice piece of gear
see if you can find a good deal on the beelink ser 7. same graphics, only slightly slower cpu. been using it everyday for 7-8 months now and its great.
Beelink usual a good PC
The Minisforum UM790 Pro that I paid $640 for last year has a slightly more powerful processor.
Better performance than the Ayaneo AM02?
About the same
Got 2 gaming laptops this year, one higher and one mid range so I'm good but these things are really nice. Just imagine when the cpus get alittle older you'd be able get a 'weak' laptop with these cheap. The laptop form of these cpus reaches the 1000$ mark and more right now so there's no point getting those over a dGPU laptop mid range.
Hey Tech Dweeb!!!, you ROCK MAN!!.. love your videos they really are very well done. Literally my favorite channel on CZcams!.
Would the >> Lossless Scaling (Frame Generation) Tool
"And ne USB A hole" made me do a mental spittake :')
Take a look at minis forum... same power, less pricy
5:00 HARD cap, tech dweeb, ya know ya can and so can i.
Of course he's promoting tiny things with big power. Never give up.
I just ordered it, I opened up a amazon credit card and they sent me an extra 100 dollars gift card that I put towards the mini PC
Yeeees❤
we still eat dvi cables here in lithuania.
Giggle hz & giggle byte 😂😂
The fact this mini pc runs Cyberpunk at basically the same performance of my nassive desktop PC is insane and slightly depressing XD But its also really good cause PC Gamng is getter cheaper and cheaper to get started with now!!
Hmmm seems like a cool little box, won't lie though, kinda would have loved to see the thermal temperature.
Just cause it is usually one of the biggest marks against these small boxes, but that's not how you review stuff these days.
Seems fairly capable, but yeah even for all that 650$ ouch yeah everything is more expensive today, and you would have a hard time putting a full tower together for the same price, I just find it hard to spend that much on a computer of this size with a limited upgrade path.
As stated it is a hard thing to do but if you keep expectations in check then you can put a tower together and still have a upgrade path, but more than likely your going to have to buy used and open box parts
tell pockets we miss his face.
TechDweeb once again “put me on game” when it comes to Steam games 😂😂😂 Yeah I’m just going to keep a small 4TB SSD… Duh. Why didn’t I think of that? Like seriously.. I enjoyed the video bro❤
that was some Schwarzenegger level Aaaarrrhh!
love to have something like that, but i think id prob chose a steam deck over it
And they’re 15% off right now, under $300 for a Steam Deck is a steal! Less than half the price of this mini PC, and you can use the money you saved to buy a new SSD to upgrade to 2TB
Great Review, yea just get the help of lossless scaling and turn this into a beast gaming machine, yes you can download fps, its a reality
Idk, makes sense to me for $650, lol. It better play games good!
63/70 Nice...
I just dont understand why you would get this one over the ser 7. it's quite a bit cheaper and the performance is almost the same. ser 8 has the same graphics, only slightly better cpu peformance
Doom hole is the worst hole
Hi.
👋
My gf says the same about me ☺
It's sadness that they didn't use USB-C PD :/
Sell one with USB-C PD, save 1 power adapter, shave off 20$ from the price.
Lol "1 usb A-HOLE".
One USB A hole lmao
But techdweeb what about emulation lmfao😅
Can I have it
Beelink has stronger ones for cheaper.
You said A hole
No emulation? I am disappoint
i got one of these beelink pcs for like $250 to setup in my dads living room, and it was hands down the worst thing ive ever bought..
it struggled playing a simple CZcams video, i even installed linux on it in hopes it would be less bloated OS for better performance, but nah absolute trash.
then went to BestBuy bought a refurbished desktop PC with a 1650ti for like 300 buck, now my dad is playing RDR2 for the first time. ill never buy beelink ever again
Hole lol
My biceps have bigger power than that PC 😂
Oh nice, I'm first
nope, 5th
what he smoking , new cpu plattforms comming and he talk about power? this channel is more and more lost!
