This video is great! Ive been very hesitant to mess with my deck because I dumb and clumsy and this video makes me feel like I can actually make some improvements. I am a little confused however, about how to handle replacing the data on the old drive. If you have been using your deck for a while and completely remove the SSD I assume you would have to reinstall all the apps, mods, shader caches etc that were on the old drive. Is there an easy way to back that stuff up? Do you just have to start from scratch? Was this addressed in the video and I totally missed it? I am very new to all this and I feel like I am at the point where i know just enough about it to confidently say that I have no idea what Im doing. Any advice or resources are very much appreciated. Thank you so much for the concise and entertaining video.

I ended up getting this device, on sale I do have a trimui smart and anbernics rg35xx h which I honestly have been loving both they are a ton and I saw a review through one of your videos. I just love retro handhelds in general haha you could say I am sort of collector or enthusiast. I was thinking pixel gkp or this one I actually prefer this plus the $37 dollar on Aliexpress couldn't hesitate myself on that offer. Great videos TechDweeb

Buy the official grip for RP4 and there is no competition in this range. Or pay $100 more the get the Odin 2 or the Steam Deck if you don't mind the size.

The A B X Y Buttons should be closer to the edge and the secondary stick (which is usually more seldomly used for things like camera rotation) should be further in the inside. That and a grip addon would make it even better. I would also like it to have an 8 OLED inch screen. If it had all the handheld controls and track pads on the sides plus more ergonomy it would be sick.

I find so many won't work. Mame, and shooter arcade games don't work, button configuration is a mess and don't know how to configure them

I know the RP4 Pro is better, but I prefer the RG556. It's just far too comfortable to use and the triggers don't seem to be inherently flawed. Sure, the RG556 has some not so great joysticks but honestly it's been perfectly fine for me for GameCube and PS2.

Retroid is just so damn unconfortable. If you want to play for longer than 15mins then the RG556 is the ONLY option.

Got a regular RG35XX last week from Amazon, but don’t care much for the OS offerings or the cramped form factor of that model. Just ordered an H today and gonna try to return/sell the RG35XX. Been using Emulation Station since around the time of NES Mini release. It’s my favorite frontend, too.

It's really the definitive retro cobtroller, but it's true that if you just have an xbox controller (or ps5 bleah) it's better and i really recommend the M30 (the sega saturn replica) that it's more accurate and retro, imho my best. Anyway i have the three (xbox, sm30 pro and m30) just because i looooooove the aesthetic and the feel of the sm30 pro (and have vibration too). So, now i have my hybrid beween the future (xbox series x cobtroller it's the best of best) and the super retro and by far the best retro controller ever, the m30.

Great video! I'm just wondering if you used the burgundy RP3 buttons on your RP4 Pro? I really want a Retro color scheme for the RP4 Pro, I can do a button swap myself if I know they will fit. I've worked on Nintendo 3ds handhelds before so I know what the job will entail, lol. I just need to know if the RP3 buttons are interchangeable with the RP4. Thanks!

Thanks for the vid! Im debating wether to buy the elgato or the ripsaw for a dual PC setup. I wished youtube would use their 4k encoder for 1080p as well. Its awfully bad, especially if you want to stream in here. I look at your footage and I KNOW it looks better for you but it looks so bad on youtube. Their compression sucks ass lol. For the cheaper price I might try this one out, thanks! BTW: for the audio capture, you don't need to create a source for audio, you can also select that on the Video Capture if you scroll down there's an option for it :D

My question is: does any of this affect input lag? I've noticed some of these settings on tv's will mess with the input lag causing an increase because of the image processing.
