  • Hi I'm Calzee! Everybody wants to know if The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is still worth playing all these years later? In this video, we'll find out!
    I produce gaming content on my channel, consisting of many story games, from old to new releases. I focus on videos where I give an in depth review and my thoughts on a certain game/series.
    There's created playlists for each game series I've put out videos on, including every assassins creed, far cry, tomb raider, etc. Some of my all time favorites being Red Dead Redemption 2, The Last Of Us Part 1/2, many Assassin's Creeds and Ghost Of Tsushima.
    If you'd like to recommend any story games I've yet to check out, let me know in the comments of a video!

    even in vanilla version without mod the landscapes of skyrim are so beautifully designed. just strolling through the area is so fascinating

      oh for sure! i thought it looked great for a game this old and its really impressive in how much detail and work they've put into the many areas bearing in mind how vast the map is. beautiful game.

    I first got Skyrim for my Xbox 360 in 2013, and it’s still one of my favorite games in 2023. I wish the remastered version made the game look way better but it’s still an amazing game. 😄😄💯💯🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️

    I’m still playing Skyrim daily - unmodded. It’s an amazing game through and through. For years I was a Witcher guy and downplayed Skyrim, but once I started playing it I realized it truly is the GOAT.

      It’s crazy how much it’s held up over the years, it can be seen as a little outdated without mods but you’ll still have an amazing experience playing it which is the main thing. SO ahead of it’s time! 🐐

    I have played Skyrim for 1000+ hours, and I have never completed the game, I always tend to go off on a tangent.
    I have just started another run and, thanks to mods, not even started the main quest line, and close to level 20.

    • @Calzee
      @Calzee  Před 11 měsíci +1

      Yeah, I think that’s the beauty of it and the main quest line doesn’t take away from the side quests so much 👍

    I'm playing skyrim anniversary edition, with the skyrim legacy of the dragonborn mod! Legacy of the dragonborn is like a whole new game kind of. It's basically a museum for all items and stuff to collect and display, along with quests etc. O also use an all in one gfx upgrade mod. And skyui mod. That's it really. I am playing on steam deck though, so the size of the screen, the gfx look great!

      @@Calzee I hate the wait, but the last few years with what modding has done for the game and possible design ideas / general TES fandom (YTs like yourself and just forums and IRL conversations) talking and keeping the content relevant and fresh. I think it’s going to be absolutely MINT for the vast majority of people who play it. I saw the Todd Howard interview on that one dudes podcast (i cant remember it atm but he wears the suit) and Todd really seemed passionate about the development process and genuinely was wanting to deliver a great experience.

      @@Calzee keep in mind though it is not very friendly for Skyrim players as :
      1. No fast travel outside of towns.
      2. No quest markers, you are given a map that always points north and you have find and locate places and directions yourself.
      3.everything uses random dice roll meaning there is a chance you will not hit your enemy, your chances of hitting increase according to your stats.
      4.and finally there is a lot of dialogue to read because morrowind is not fully voice acted, the dialogues are less in Skyrim and oblivion because these have full voice acting.
      Other than these morrowind offers a lot more freedom then Skyrim or oblivion,
      Enjoy your playthrough .

    Does anyone know if you can add the HD graphics and texture mods to steam deck version of skyrim?

  • @Jon-id7ki
    @Jon-id7ki Před rokem +6

    Your comment about the story being limiting... you know there's more than the main story right? Guilds and groups you can join, one off side quests for people in towns etc.

    • @WeezyOld
      @WeezyOld Před rokem

      You must know that what he said completely valid, and simply his opinion. I doubt he has ignored all the side content. Its still fairly limited, even from objective standpoints, in how you can do quests. 90% of quests are fetch this, bring it back with no variety. Which isn’t entirely BAD but it is LIMITING

    • @Calzee
      @Calzee  Před rokem +3

      I’m aware of that, but the main story is the the main part of the game so overall, it’s limited.

    I have owned both Skyrim and Fallout 4 since they cam out but have never once played either. Starfield is my first Bethesda game and im 400 hours into my first playthrough but am running out of steam fast since not much to do on higher planets or nothing to soend credits on and game is too easy with no enemy upscaling. Been thinking about trying one of the two games. I know they are both great games that i would enjoy. Ive bought Skyrim 2 or 3 times and am on the series X. Im also in my first run of the Witcher 3 with over 300 hours into my first run and havenet beaten the game or touched the DLC. I know Skyrim is an iconic game. Both games also have mods which ive never used mods or played a game that had them to easily available.

    • @Calzee
      @Calzee  Před 7 měsíci

      I hope this review helps you decide, I personally think you should check it out with mods but I know you’re Xbox. The mods are a significant improvement though the gameplay you see in this video only has graphic mods for better visuals. So I still recommend vanilla, I believe everyone should check out this game once. It’s amazing.

    • @mrsinister8943
      @mrsinister8943 Před 4 měsíci

      @@brandonmalone1893 I have 410 total hours in it but haven't played it in months. I spent 8 hours exploring my first planet and surveying it to 100%. I did every mission and quest I could find. The game has a few missions for me that are glitched and wont appear or it gets glitches somehow. I never even beat the game yet and am 2 or 3 missions from beating it. Im not doing a new game plus since it resets all planet surveying. Building outposts,exploring and shop building is a blast but Starfield isnt as good as FO4 in my opinion. I have about 200-250 hours into FO4 and I love it. I'll probably best Starfield eventually.

    I've started playing a few weeks ago. Had only basic info on what type of game it was and read some reviews. Considering the excellent ratings I was going in expecting a grand masterpiece.
    I'm about 10-15 hours in and although I want to like it, it's just not really clicking for me...
    I've played Witcher 3, Fallout 4, GTA 5 and enjoyed all of those more than Skyrim so far.
    I'm 43 years old and have been playing games for 30 years so it being an older game does not really bother me, nor do the graphics. I'm not giving up on it just yet, I'm gonna keep on grinding a bit more but for now the game has failed to convince me and has not been able to suck me into its world...
    I keep wondering if I'm missing something here and I can understand its value as a groundbreaking classic but the game seems overrated for sure.

    • @Calzee
      @Calzee  Před 4 měsíci

      I've heard this a few times, it's just because of the games age. it was so ahead of ti's time but without mods. it can lack, especially if you've played those other games as they are top class and more modern.

    • @brandonmalone1893
      @brandonmalone1893 Před 4 měsíci

      I'm 43 as well. And I understand what you mean. I played Skyrim when it came out, it definitely seems more boring then I remember lol...I would suggest tears of the kingdom...I slept on Nintendo for years. Always had Xbox and PlayStation after the original NES.. but tears is probably the best game k ever played...and it's open world, like Skyrim, but it's amazing what they've done. If you haven't tried it, I'm telling ya dude, try it out. It's insanely good...I am also a huge Witcher 3 fan ..and before Zelda I considered that to be the best game ever made.
