Y'all are gonna be so bummed, I don't do anything to my hair hahaha I use whatever shampoo and conditioner are on sale😂 And tbh my hair just holds a curl VERY WELL (always has) so I can curl it on day 1 and it will last me a few days!!

I totally feel you on the whole ACOTAR thing… I just felt it it wasn’t for me. However, I am on the third book of the ToG series and I am finding that I like it more! Would love some recs of fantasy as I want to get more into the genre but find myself stuck and overwhelmed with what to read

You should look into The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern, it’s magical realism and one of the most beautiful books I’ve read. It was her first book, her second is also incredible (The Starless Sea) but is definitely a more complex and less realistic fantasy
For both, the less you know going into them the better

That is so awful you mentioning the library system where you are from only one or two copies that's insane! Here on the west side of Canada where I come from the library has multiple copies and its so helpful!!
It's so bad here... people always ask why I don't use the library more and it's because wait times for ebooks are anywhere from 25-45 weeks🥲
I finished In My Dreams I hold a Knife last night and wouldn't recommend tbh. It was fine, 3 star max, but it was slow and ultimately just a bit boring.
Maybe I will wait on reading her other books tbh😂
ACOTAR is so weird in terms of tone. First three books read like twilight and then the series takes a sharp turn towards romance novel out of nowhere 😂😂 pretty much all her books do that, it’s a SJM problem lol. I wouldn’t say they represent fantasy as a genre at all, that’s much more Tolkien, Le Guin, Lewis etc. to me they are just romance novels.
Oh my God, I didn’t like her too. The main girl from ACOTAR. That’s why I only read the first book and never continued. I feel like I am the only person.
I actually nothing against the characters it's just not my fantasy genre of choice! I'm not into the fae. And also everyone kept telling me it was so smutty and it was literally the least smutty book I've ever read, and I was so disappointed.... give me all the spice
@@CarterSullivan Oh I thought you meant Feyre but you said Fae. Lol. I really disliked her, I don’t know why, she made me angry. Yeah it wasn’t smutty at all, that’s true. So confused how people said that.
I will say the first one is mellow then the sequels get much spicier
Love you girl, but please do not clog up the NYPL system for those of us New York residents who pay high taxes, vote, and lobby our elected officials to protect it. At a minimum, please consider making a donation to the library as we just barely survived a funding crisis.
Just because I don't mention it doesn't mean I didn't do it, please remember that! But this a great reminder for others since quite literally hundreds of people do this according to Reddit! Because there was no option to pay for an "international library card" I did sign up for monthly donations already as a way to support the NYPL 🥰🥰
