Hi Boss, many thanks for the vedio, I have tried it out and it turns out really fantastic. It's a pitty that youtube cannot be commented with pictures. Otherwise, I would like to share my work with you. Many thanks again!😁
Glad to help! It is a shame we can't post pictures in the comments here sometimes, it would be quite handy. Do you have an instagram? If so I'll check out your stuff there 😄
Awesome! Thank you :-)
You're welcome, thanks for watching! 😁
Exactly what I was looking for!! Thanks so much for this video!!
Cheers for watching, glad to hear the video helped! 😀
Im glad i found your channel. You teach everything i need to complete my Iron Warriors army.
I'm a big fan of the Iron Warriors, perhaps I'll do a tutorial on them at some stage! 😀
Gonna try this on a chaos knight
Nice! Get that rust happening! 😁
Perfect video for my undead skeleton minion army. A Necromancer in D&D with undead with shiny armor and weapons would be weird haha.
Thnx a lot
Thanks for watching, nothing better than a skeleton minion army! 😁
The easiest and fastest rust effect technique i've found. Ty.
Thanks for watching, I'm always trying to find efficient ways of doing things! 😁
All three of your metallic videos have been really helpful, thank you!
Thanks for watching, glad to hear they helped 😃
Tysm! I've created a good rust effect for weapons and small pieces, but I am going to paint a chaos rhino tank with this method. It's gonna be rad 🤘👊💥
Glad to hear you found the video helpful, good luck with the tank! 😊
After having experimented with my own bronze&verdigris mix, i’m sooooo excited to try your rust method to finish the weathering in my skaven army… doombull brown and xv-88 already on the way 😁
Great to hear! Doombull Brown and XV-88 are great paints to have in the collection for so many other uses too 😄
This is a great tutorial! Good job, as usual!
Thankyou Miguel, I'm looking forward to seeing your new vid when you get back to the office! 😁
Painted most of the metal areas (75%) on a knight rampager with this technique and it came out so good. I would say that your optional ink step in the end is definitely mandatory for larger areas
Glad to hear the techniques worked out well, and thanks for watching! 😊
Thanks for sharing. I learn something new every day, when it comes to mini painting.
Thankyou! Me too, it's one of the things I love about the hobby! 😀
Only just started mini-painting with absolutely no artistic background but I gave this a go I was surprised how good the end result is. I appreciate the videos geared for people who are just starting out but still want to paint something awesome looking. Cant wait to try more techniques from your videos!
Thankyou and welcome to the hobby! I do always try and make things as accessible as possible here, there are lots of ways to do rust but I was going for something nice and simple. Hope you enjoy the future uploads! 😊
Oh my gosh thank you. I'm going to try this over the weekend.
That's great to hear, thanks for watching the video! 😊
Excellent effect! Will try this on my next undead units!
Awesome, hopefully it helps! 😁
Thank you for this, will definitely try it out!
Awesome! Let me know if you have any other questions on the technique 😁
Thanks! I will try this method - you make it look easy.
Glad to hear you enjoyed the vid! 😄
최고!~ 감동!~ 좋은 영상을 보여주셔서 감사합니다. ^^ 👍
시청해 주셔서 감사합니다! 😊
Awesome video!
Thankyou so much! 😁🤘
Epic! Thank you!
No worries! 😁
I tend to use cheaper hobby paints rather than dedicated miniature paints. But coincidentally, I have colors in my collection that could map more or less to all three of these (a burnt sienna, "rusted pipe", and a silver). I've been experimenting on my own for how to do rust effects, so this video is helpful.
Glad to hear it was helpful! I used miniature paints on this one because it was small scale, but I'd definitely look into craft paints for bigger works and terrain to help cut the costs 😁
Nice tutorial! Peronaly the XV 88 is to yellow for rust though, I'm going more orange myself.
Thankyou! You could even try going darker and using something like Rhinox Hide with Doombull Brown, lots of potential for variation 😄
Hey boss, great video! Do you think a matte or gloss finish would be best for rust? Thanks for you time!
Cheers mate! Personally I prefer matte varnish generally, I think for rust it will work better than gloss because the texture of rust isn't too shiny. I save gloss for stuff which needs to look wet or shiny but it's all going to be personal preference. Some matte varnish is very matte, so you might also look into a satin varnish for the best of both worlds. Another factor to consider is the rest of the mini too, and how the varnish will look overall 😊
Thanks, perfect tutorial for a Neanderthal like me. :)
Haha thanks for stopping by Slurgical! 😊
Looks great! Have you tried using a soft-lead pencil instead of silver paint? It can create a really great, subtle effect over the rust-colored paint. I do seal mine afterward as it will rub off with handling. :)
Thankyou! I've heard of this before with the pencil but not yet tried it! It sounds awesome so I'm definitely going to have to give it a go 😁
@@TheHobbyGrotto You're welcome. Can't wait to see the results. :D
Finally a simple rust guide my basic brain can follow 😅
Glad to hear the video was helpful, I'm always trying to keep things as simple as possible 😄
That music...
I love this track! 😃
Can I get tetanus from this?
Always watch out for those sharp edges 🤣
