Although that has happend to me I needed to find battery’s although those are more abundant in Ireland.

Holy crap.. This deserves way more views!! It actually scared me ALOT. It also does feel like this is real and actually happening, which is adding on to the realisim. Small question though... Are they hijacking the broadcast.? 9/10 So far!
That means a lot man! Thank you! The *basic* disruptions (like static) are as a result of the electrical pulses/malfunctions from when the invasion first began. But anything more than that is something that will be explained soon :)

Basically. I'm actually working on a story myself that's more true to the books but set in the 80's.
(Then again, anything involving that bastardization of a film doesn't really do it for me, it made me lose respect for Stephen Spielberg in ways you can not imagine.)

I think it’s supposed to be purposely bad advice, the aliens (most likely) have hijacked the recording to give horrible advice so that they can kill you easier.

In the original book, they use Black Smoke to clear out humans, btw the 1898? Or was it 1897.. either way the Book and the 2005 movie both have the best tripod designs and the book is fantastic, highly recommend

I don’t really think war of the worlds works for analog horror, not many people were using analog television let alone vhs in 2005, and certainly the government was not recording in vhs in 2005. I see what you were going for but it just feels out of place honestly.
Except this isn’t 2005. The setting takes place in the 50’s, (which is mentioned in the beginning of the recording) which is based off of the ORIGINAL film. I took many concepts from the Cruise film however I meant to encapsulate many concepts from WotW, but set in a period of time where we were most vulnerable: Post World War 2.
Also, not wanting to be "that guy", but we still had analog TV and VHS until late 2000s, albeit the VHS was replaced by the DVD the longer the decade went on. But 2005 is totally in the analog zone. 🙂
