Sergey behaves so modestly everywhere. If Nick is everywhere in the center, then Sergey stands aside. Legendary player

Now put 91 into the rafters! He's earned it.

Federov was such a great player and was a big part of the Wings winning those Cups. As fans, we took all those great years for granted with the playoff runs and expected that to continue. Now, it's been a long 6 year playoff drought and it really makes you think back at how spoiled Red Wings fans were.

2 of the most skilled hockey players to ever play the game.

That was cool to see Sergei with Mr. I at the end - both I bet wish they could have turned back the clock and got that deal done - still Fedorov is a Wing for life in my book.

Wrong. He left money on the table to goto Anaheim. He was not a red wing for life. Sorry no

Stats dont always tell the whole story. Federov is one of the best players to ever play. And if you watch Young Datsyuk, many of his moves are duplicates of Sergeys. Probably from the Russian system. I loved watching Sergey skate, and Lidstrom's long shots to goal. The 1997,98 and 2002 were special teams!

Couple that with the fact he was killing it in Russia before he defected...imagine what his numbers would have been if we got him in the NHL sooner?

Kovalchuk and Datsyuk not being in the HOF is a joke.
