Tikkanen-Gretzky-Kurri
Canada 1 Finland 3 🤪
Scheifele and Laine
Teemu is such a class act. I have never heard a bad word spoken of him.
He has been widely criticized post career for his chauvinism and strange oppinions
@@jeremyroenick2202 I've never heard those criticisms. Then again, I live under a rock for the most part. lol
He have been quite vocal in Twitter. Not always in a good light.
His rookie scoring record will never be touched, ever
One of the best ever!
cityofchamps66 it will, but it's going to take one hell of a player.
@@chubbz5150ify I dont think it will cause equipment have evolved so much etc
Yes it will, by his son. :D
That is true, but comparing 90s hockey to modern hockey isn't fair. It's whole different game.
Teemu gave the whole speech without a paper.
Because it was from the heart. :)
There’s a few sheets, he put them in front of him at the start of the speech. He’s very good though. Not looking much.
Teemu and Paul will forever be loved in Anaheim.
When I was a kid, I was a Kariya fan, through and through. I had all his hockey cards. So in the minor league, I wore number 9. When I played street hockey, I WAS Kariya. My best friend at the time chose Selanne, so we could “be on the same team”, against the neighbors. One year, we even got picked on the same minor league team. I proudly wore my number 9. He proudly wore his number 8. I looked up to him. He has a great vision and was an amazing playmaker. 23 years later, that best friend is still my best friend. And I still look up to him. As a friend. As a great person. As an amazing father.
In his acceptance speech, Teemu says a few times “like Paul said” and I do that with my best friend too. I will quote him, whether he is there or not. I think it shows how deep the bond is. Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne were one of the best duos this League has ever had and being inducted together certainly proves that. Selanne will always have my utmost respect, and I will always be a Kariya fan. And I still have all his hockey cards.
This is the kind of a comment you go down to look for.
One of the best comments I've read. That's what true friendship/brotherhood is all about! Awesome that you have all of those hockey cards. I really wish I collected when I was a kid. I do have a box of completely random hockey cards from the 80s and 90s including a "signed" Rob Blake card. Don't know if it's legit or not hahaha
Thank you for this story!
Love the end hahah
Kariya is also my favorite player of all time. My wife gave me his game used Easton ultra lite stick on my birthday this year.
It was only fitting that two living legends would be inducted in the same day as one of the best duos of all time.
Teemu derserved it.
What a class act.
KFC Warrior Well, Selanne was TRADED out of Winnipeg
lol shut up mad kid :D edgy opinions dont make you look cool even on the internet.
real heros the two of you :DDDDDDDDDDD
atqos yeah the internet tough guys are the best, aren’t they.
@คLקHค MคLє Have you ever been in Kontula? Theres lot a fighting
The original bromance
el_chino_778 right after the Neely/Samuelson bromance 😂 jk just needed a chance to take a cheap shot at one of the all time cheap shot greats...Ulf
I ll always remember the Finnish Flash throwing his glove in the air then shooting it down Its one the best celebration s Not only 76 goals in his rookie season but 56 helpers WOW 132 pts in his rookie season
That Record 76 GOALS - IS Never going to Be BROKEN !
I know Finnish names aren't easy, but they could have learnt how to say Teemu Selänne properly for this occasion, don't you think?
Who cares how to pronounce someone's name?
Hes ben called Tiimu Silaani his entire career, no reason to change it now
Kasuaari Kanava ois seny varmaa ite teemullekki kiva kuulla edes kerran hänen nimensä sanottu oikein🤔
it is just Teemu Selänne in finnish,You must pronounce the ää-letter
@@olli-pekkaheinonen4669 How do you pronounce something that you have no clue about?
Isn't it ironic that he thanks for having the chance to play in six Olympic games and straight after that thanks Gary Bettman...
Andenni The 2018 olympics are gonna feel somewhat underwhelming I think. The summer olympics always feel much bigger (they have more athletes and events), and honestly without the top hockey players in Korea it’s gonna be pretty lame...
Maybe thanks to Bettman for not allowing other people to accomplish the same feat LOL
Respect from Sweden
Forsberg is the most complete player ever, respect from Finland :)
@@imulippo5245 teemu on parempi
@@imulippo5245 I'd disagree but to each his own.
I was an original Winnipeg Jet fan since the beginning in the WHA. I was so pissed when they traded Teemu that I dumped the Jets and started cheering for Anaheim. The years with the Ducks were amazing. Kariya! Rucchin! The 2007 Stanley Cup was the first and only I experienced as a fan. Teemu was the best. Not only an amazing hockey player, but a real gentleman. Love you Teemu. PS. I have decided to give Winnipeg a second chance with the new team.
That bromance between Kariya and Selanne is just too much to handle.
They were the dynamic duo. They were one of the greatest lines in hockey at that time.
Selänne is legend
The Finnish Flash!!!!
🇫🇮🇫🇮1️⃣3️⃣🇫🇮🇫🇮
No one will ever score 76 or more as a rookie. In 1992-1993 you could (barely) do that, but he was the one that actually did it out of all. Not even 99 or 66. It takes almost a goal every single game. No ones braking it.
Mogilny did it the same year in fewer games.
@@APAL880 Why isnt Mogilny - at The Hall of Fame ?
@@APAL880 not rookie Mogilny
Did more living in a day than most will ever do in their life..what an amazing player and life he has enjoyed, just an absolute joy to witness just how great your life can be
So proud to be from Finland right about now
2 words here. Thank you!!! Sweet 😊❤️ God bless you from Marie in Buena Park CA USA you will always be loved by us all and hope to All who play the game of hockey sir 👍😊

Tiimu Salami
Its funny many consider Teemu the best Duck of all-time but without Kariya Obviously woulda been a great player but Kariya made him even better, so id say both the best Ducks.
you are the flying duck !!!! we love you, thank you
Teemu erinomainen pelaaja. Hieno ihminen.
The first NHL I saw in person was an exhibition game that Kariya and Selanne played. The.two of them skated so fast, they made everyone else look like they were standing still.
Mr.Selänne is a Finnish icon.
I used to check the NHL points statistics and for so many years two Ducks were there in the top 10 in both scoring and points: Selänne and Kariya.
I grew to know these guys played together, progressed together and succeeded together🎉
SISU . . . driving FORCE behind any FINN kid with a Dream. Esp Teemu Selanne, no exception in him, Congrats Teemu.
What a beauty
This is the most I’ve ever heard a Finn talk. He must be half Swedish.
One of the great🌹🌹🌹
Respect to you Teemu Selänne!
with
Damn. Teemu have a good sense of humor. I've never liked him as a player, I don't know why.. but he is unbelieveble as a person. He desereved this - to be in the HHoF
When I was 12 my most popular players were Teemu and Paul.My team was the Mighty Ducks. Now I still follow NHL but I don't see anybody so great there as those 2 guys were tegether!!!
Met him in 1992 his rookie season they were staying at the Hyatt Regency in Burlingame wow that's when they were playing at the Cow Palace
I want to thank Teemu for acknowledging Swedish Jets legend Thomas Steen. His son Alex Steen is assistant captain with the Blues of course.
"Thank you"
Growing up watching Duos play was amazing. Kariya Selanne sakic Forsberg Lafontaine and mogilny yzerman fedorov
Teemu!!!! damn legend!!!
What a legend. Heard he gets after it hard w the partying and ladies back in his playing days
Itfeelsgood. To live in Finland :)
Theimu Seläni👏
Disrespectful watching your got damn cell phone when Teemu thanks you... SMH.. -.- You are our greatest Duck Teemu :) :) Such a star in a little place in California and made hockey forever great in Anaheim. #ThankYouTeemu
Who did that?
Mighty Ducks!💜🖤💚

You would probably make a better ambassador for it, but it´s rally English (not rallyenglish) :D
All in hockey hall of fame has one in common. They never suffered career ending injury. The miracle you need to enter hall of fame. So many athletes are not so lucky.
Pronger
Teemu Salami 🤩
The doctor gave Teemu his happy ending. Nice.
Kariya is a lucky guy
Whoop!
Teemu Selänne!! Yes! Och jag är svensk!
Aww, Jari Kurri. What a silent Finnish guy. Nothing wrong with that.
He has goal record and point record as rookie
Tiimii salamii score...
Omg i was 134 000 watcher
🇫🇮👑👌
Epically, Paul Karia was the last statement. I hope Steve(his brother) doesn't haven't to excert majority of his energy to win a battle or business
Teemu’s olympic bronze from 2014 wasn’t mentioned?
Tkachuk-Zhamnov-Selanne AKA "The Olympic Line"
76 goals....ovie,sidney,connor,patrik, none of them could reach that goals
Patrik who?
Well not Stefan for sure, maybe he means Laine, because there is not many Patrik's but Patricks instead
Joe Sakic? Burnaby Boy.
Thanks
6:05 Tom Hanks got old
OMG.
heh :D
Yeah, he is a Finnish doctor Immu Syvahuoko who operated Teemu's knee. They call him "Hanks" in Finland.
Ouf, if he stayed in Colorado. :D
He speaks fast, and the kokes go to qiick.sorry im dunk
11:26 - lol
Who the heck disliked this?
All the goalies he abused over his career
Nevöfoget!!!
Thank you Jesus Christ since over 19 years when I took you into my life amen. God Bless:D P.s. My career was 10 years in icehockey actually in junior team. John 14:6 please 'n peace. Maranatha!
Do not mean to be a dick here, but 20+ years in the US and his English is still so bad :D But anyway, well deserved an honor, he was a great player and a class act.
Please come and spend 20 years in Finland and we'll see how's your finnish after that :). The problem is that when you do not use your English daily it gets worse very fast.
Teemu shouldn't been selected. So overrated!
Monsuuri how is he over rated? His career speaks for itself
Simsy just trolling/kidding! Off course he had to be selected. He's probably the most popular sportsman here in Finland also when considering all sports. He is said to be the best finnish hockey player of all time.
In my opinion though Jari Kurri and Saku Koivu are as good as Selänne.
jeppemichael he has been very good center both in national team and in nhl teams. First european captain in Montreal. They can't be easily compared, because different positions and styles.
Le Tigidou yes, I admitted already
