It's kinda depressing to think that this is 62 years ago, and most of the people in this video are dead
Well duh they can't be 188
Carlos Last bruh💀🤡🤭
Carlos Last please tell me you’re joking, no way you’re being serious saying they’re 180 when that means they would be 120 in the film
But never really forgotten....
@donnyfrom hackney youve never heard of someone thats in their 80s?
This guy could entertain today's generation.
FACT
and he still does thru all his movies! and all his songs! his performenses on video' s and private films taken during his great shows ever since he came back in '69 on stage ! So.... EP never died ❤❤❤
I agree with your thought, however, i`m not so sure if today`s generation is too dumb and stupid to appreciate this musical genius !!!

Why is this camera quality better than security cameras???
Dude, it's the 50s. The time when America could do pretty much anything
It’s a scene from the movie. Big studio pictures were high quality stuff.

Elvis was so good looking even straight guys admit crushing on him.
Facts
Elvis could charm literally anyone 🙌
He has almost overwhelming charisma
@jennyrose Christian Slater in True Romance proves ur point about straight men crushing on him!
It’s crazy to think this was considered to be super “edgy” back in the day. The concept of convicts being the main focus/protagonists and Elvis’s moves were met with controversy.
But it didn’t matter, because just like a lot of his music, the song was a big success, and it overshadowed all of the controversy. In fact, Jailhouse Rock stayed at number 1 on the US Billboard for seven straight weeks!
Elvis was INSANELY ahead of his time, and changed popular culture forever! His influence still lives on even in 2024 :D
Es que la sociedad estadounidense era muy conservadora; en algunos Estados consideraban una inmoralidad moverse como lo hacía Elvis, pero debes tener
en cuenta que de esto hace 65 años. A partir de allí, nada volvería a ser igual.
I think it was the Ed Sullivan show that would not allow him to be recorded below the waist because no one had ever seen it . Young people could not get enough and older people thought it was evil. He was an awesome dancer and singer. Imagine what those same older people would think of todays music.🙄🙄
Yep, I remember bad guys or criminals were practically not allowed to "win" in mainstream American films. Hence why in the original Ocean's Eleven, they don't get any of the money.
I think, though, that we should still be living in a time where this is considered edgy. That's healthy. I mean, look what we have now - every single popular singer is a virtually naked, and completely talentless. They sell their 'music' based on how small of a bikini or whatever they're wearing. It's pathetic.
@@Julia-nl3gq not exactly. There is still plenty of good music. It's just that old people usually focus on the controversial things
This looks like it is made in today’s time but in black and white
Yeah so clear i watched a black and white movie this year it's called the lighthouse it was kinda weird to watch a black and white movie with 1080p Blu-ray resolution
Susan Gauthier Baby Nut this might sound extremely dumb but is this actually Elvis? Or an actor of Elvis?
TwS Clan actually Elvis
Black and white was clearer than early colour as they had mastered black and white but not yet colour
Nah, this just a digital remastering. Computer editing to make it a higher quality
Watched this 5 times before I realised the trombone and sax were fake.

Fun fact
In this movie scene Elvis was supposed to do a Broadway type of chorégraphed dancing but he didn't feel comfortable with it. He asked to dance in his own way . The chorégrapher then put a few of his songs in rehearsal and asked him to dance the way he likes. After 3 songs he had the perfect choreography. So you could say that elvis pretty much made that whole dance routine himself et

The warden threw a party in the county jail.
The prison band was there and they began to wail.
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing.
You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone,
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone.
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang,
The whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang.
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block

Number forty-seven said to number three:
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see.
I sure would be delighted with your company,
Come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.
The sad sack was a sittin' on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin' all alone.
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square.
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair."
Let's rock, everybody, let's rock.
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock.
Shifty Henry said to Bugs, "For Heaven's sake,
No one's lookin', now's our chance to make a break."
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix,
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks."

Yes. Still sounds good every time I watched it Elvis Presley is my favorite singer of all time bring back beautiful memories. How are you Lindacherry ?
I heard that this was choregraphed by Elvis, and is still hailed as an outstanding example. It is worth a second watch just to focus on the choreography.
Yeah, I've heard that too. The choreographer for the film came up with a whole number but realized it wouldn't work because Elvis wasn't professionally trained as a dancer. So he just asked Elvis how he would normally move with this song and they worked out the number from that.
That's what drew me in was the choreography. It's phenomenal and iconic.
alex romero!!
Choreographed by the incomparable Alex Romero. Mr. Romero was named staff choreographer for MGM in the late 1940s and held the position for nearly 20 years.
And to think for so many of today's stars (and previous) this is the basic blue print for a stage show with backup dancers. Only now it's nasty and gross. This was tame and entertaining. Imagine these people today seeing WAP? (actually vile) They would have simply died on the spot.
