It wasn't the sports minister. It was the head of the Female athletics commission (or smth like that), who sent her there. The minister is the one who asked for her resignation.

All I can think about is the hundreds of thousands of qualified athletes who work tirelessly toward the goal of representing their country. I can’t even imagine the number of Somali sprinters alone who were passed over for this unqualified person as a result of blind favoritism.
