He ran that fast without a block start. Beautiful form.
On this distance you are faster without a block
His form is great, he has excellent hand and arm form. He also has very good sustained high turnover.
@@christopherhaak9824 yeah very patient, doesn’t go out as fast as the others because he trusts his stamina to carry him the last 150 of the race.
Why would someone not use blocks?
@@LeftistCommentary some people are slower out of the blocks
Sheesh, the most impressive part is the kid kept up the same pace, that is not easy for a 10 years old to do. Hopefully he stays consistent as he get older.
I was their at the junior Olympics
when I looked at it I was gonna say sheesh
@@fruits8731 rlly are you in a vid

@@BRODY-ON-HEIGHT I dont know if I am I never watched the video
The fact that 2nd place still broke 1:00 is INSANE! These kids got talent
No shit
it's called training, no one has talent at having proper running form,
@@amvlabs5339 not any person can just get good at track. While it does take training and getting the proper running form, you need natural talent too. Basically all Olympic sprinters have the best running form they can get, but they aren’t all the same speed. You have to be fast to run fast
@@miashoe2509 that's absolute nonsense. Height, training and not having health issues/impediments related to movement are what make a great runner a great runner. No one born with "talent" in running. There's no such thing as talent in track. It's the complete opposite. You have to focus real hard to discard your bad habits to actually run in the proper form and squeeze every ounce of speed out of yourself. It's why runners all come so close to each other, just like F1 racers. It's all about training and technique and more than ever, science these days.
@@amvlabs5339 @AMV Labs What absolute BS. Of course some people have natural talent in running just like some people have natural talent in ball sports or swimming. But in that natural talent it might be some people have faster twitch muscles or bigger lungs and were born to run fast.
Of course training makes a natural talent into a champion, but saying natural talent isn't a thing is retardation.
I can't believe I just saw 10 year old run a 55sec 400. Those of us who ran the 400 in jr. leagues will truly appreciate how incredible this is.
Im 13 and i can accelerate way faster atleast 23 miles per hour
@@hablooey shush
Bro said shush although no1 was gonna say nothing else
@@hablooey Maybe cause they're ten year olds and you're 13? Yeah maybe that's why I said shush it's not really comparable
@@hablooey lmao probably not I'm 16 and I'm probably faster than you in any race you know why? Because I'm 3 years older
I don't think people realize how fast that is for a child. He's not even in middle school yet. He's a 5tj grader at most unless he jumped grades. That's crazy. Itll be interesting to see what he does in the future. At this paste he'll be in the 40s in middle school for sure . He hasnt even hit his teen body yet smh. Crazy. Congratulations 💯💯💯💯🏋🏾♂️💪🏾🚀🚀

A force to be reckoned with. Well done ✅ young man. You are going to go far👏👏
Looks like there is a few nice track and field prospects coming along to watch with Thomas an exciting prospect leader. It will be interesting. They can only get better if they keep focused and keep their bodies in shape. 😅.
Well done young man, you have a very promising future ahead of you.

This is the embodiment of hard work. If you want it, get it while your young. Kudos for him
Great job, OMAR!! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!
Have so enjoyed watching these videos. Wish more kids would put away the phones and games and challenge themselves like these athletes.
His little heart must be beating fast . Well done
Wow he was flying!! I hope he stays focused ❤️
Congratulations young man!!
I am from pompano beach Florida so this means a lot to me and I seen the team he ran for at some of my track meets before
Lol i was suprised too I’m from pompano
Great Job Omar!!!
great to see sporty kids competing, all the kids here are winners in my book
He had a good form. I'm not a race expert
But that kid had a posture that probably helps him to go at a high speed.
Like Michael Johnson 👟👟🥇⚡⚡
🗣KEEP GOIN YOUNG KING
💪🏾👑
We had a guy in 4th grade, he was 10 at the time but he ran extremely fast. No one could keep up with him. His speed was very impressive, but what was more impressive was that he could keep the maintain the same form for the whole race. Im in 8th grade now and I was in a race with him. We were tied at first but after 100 metres or so, i started to go slower and slower cuz i was tired, but he ran at the same speed and only slowed down when he was a few metres away from the finishing line. I finished at 2nd place yet the difference between first and second place was like almost 50 metres and that was only because he slowed down at the end or else it wouldve been even more.
That's running on average 60-meter splits at 8,36 seconds, that's insane!!!
Way to go,keep up the good work😘😘
God bless these beautiful kids❤🎉
Someone to watch in the future. Very relaxed and obviously well-trained. Use blocks soon?
Congratulations, I would like to see this sport grow even more to the height of football, basketball and baseball.
That is extremely impressive for his age hope he grows up to be an amazing runner

Damn man is running faster than some of the 400m mens sprinters on my high school team😳.
Omar Thomas has excellent form and running strength. He reminds me of a young Michael Johnson. I expect we'll be seeing much more from him in future years.

28.0 for a 10 year old over 200m is quite impressive, but Owen ran quicker than TWO back-to-back!
Amazing talent!!
Sorry Omar
Omar has a good runners build and nice technique. I have seen far too many early developers who fail a few years later to get too excited about 10 year olds.
Wdym
@@primewinxxy2288 what he means is that it is unlikely for young children running extremely unbelievable times to succeed in senior athletics.
OUTSTANDING. Omar
Pure and natural talent. Amazingly great!
Track running speed means that you're actually faster(possibly much faster) than that particular rate of speed, because you don't have to bend down or stay in a narrow lane in other sports or other modes of running! You just run without hindrance!
?
?
@@gordonwaldner9792 I speak of track/40-YD dash speed. When you run like that, you begin your run bent over. Some guys have run bad times like that, but standing up(like you do at WR) they can be faster. John Taylor ran a 4.67 in the 40, but also outran Deion chasing from very close nearby from far away from the end zone. Look it up in John Taylor highlights.
@@pattrell5257 yooooo you talking in Times New Roman or what? Cuz I don't understand ish
@@onefootballhd2265 hes saying the kid would be faster if wasnt restrained by a lane and barriers, john taylor outran deion (who has a faster 40 yard dash time) in an open field without the barriers of a 40 yard dash
He ran that faster than me when I was 17 years old!
I’m older than him and he’s ten times faster than me
Facts.
@thethundergod My best time at 17 was 58sec...then after joining the Air Force five years later at 22 years old I ran a 48sec.
God bless you son❤️
He has excellent form he blew them away, without a block start impressive.
That was a phenomenal performance!!!
I couldn't even do that when I was 18 at my peak in track and field in highschool after 4 years in track and field and 3 in cross-country and I have decent genetics and an ectomorph body type and eat good and all of that. Man God gave that kid crazy good genetics. The most I ever got my 400 was like 70 seconds but that's totally fine with me because I gave it everything and trained harder than most but I just mostly compete with myself. I mean the 400 wasn't really my race but like still hard to believe like a ten year old could be best me at it, maybe not in the long run but wow.
@iMonkey Well it's the genetics I got and the body God gave me so, 🤷 and I run more the longer distance.yeah If I was like born Kenyen then that might be different but he predestined me to have this body.
I would say about 1/3 of running is genetic, how tall you are, body type, conditions, abilities..., another quarter is how good your coaches are, if they are supportive and challenge you but don't get you injured and know how to train, and your training regement, discipline, what you eat, and sleep, overall physical, emotional, spiritual health, about another quarter is your mental toughness, tenacity, and shear will, and only about an 1/8 is your form and skill.
That was exciting to watch!
Congrats omar 💚💚
I don't like the outfit and attention.
He has phenomenal potential....BUT ONLY if he keeps working hard. He needs to be humble AND WORK. He has done nothing yet...he is training for the big time. Many many kids like him fail later because they don't realize they have a to train to continue success.
Future stars! Wonder if he will run for his parents home country Jamaica or run for America where he was born? Either way this kid will be seen in about 5 years in the under 20 competitions and then world and Olympic Games! Watch him! Big up Omar! Big up Vic and Marlene Thomas🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲🇺🇸
Oh makes now 😂
You don't get to choose who you run for officially. Whatever your passport says is the country you represent.
@@jasonito23 you can change citizenship many athletes do it.
@@Elle9228000 - Yes. But I don't think his parents and family would recommend him changing his US visa to a Jamaican visa. That's not a good idea. Unless he plans to live there. Otherwise you don't want to give up rights like the right to vote and run for certain offices. Plus, I believe a US passport gets you easier access to travel to other countries.
