Imagine running 9.71 and NOT winning! That time will literally beat any 100m men’s sprinter today. What an era!
I feel like Bolt inadvertently raised everyones standards with the times he was running. Sprinters had to put down insane times to be even close to him.

😅
These days 9.84 will get you a gold
I will always find that incredible.
9.71 and losing, greatest race in the history.
I've always thought the same...
The dominance of Bolt seems like ancient mythology. This man is no doubt the greatest sprinter of all time.
He was the athlete of world, everyone was cheering for him instead of their own country!
Imagine that
Goosebumps moments
That's the olympic spirit.
Unbelievable by Bolt. Absolutely breath-taking. He didn't just break his own world record, he obliterated it. Bolt is indeed the greatest sprinter of all time.
Just to bad Blake got injured otherwise we may have seen bolt run even faster as he would have had his team mate push him even harder
and Jamaica has the greatest woman sprinter with 5 world gold medals in shelly ann fraser
"BOLT" ⚡ ✝️ Blessed Him with all the Tools! Height, Strength, Stride, Personality! A Perfect 🌎 Class Sprinter! With a Perfect last Name! ⚡

Before this he was 'one of the all-time greats'. After this he became, by a wide margin, the greatest of all time.
Bolt ran so relaxed that I always feel that he was faster than that!
He's faster than that
@@forexs.oh please
Maybe he can run faster than the side line time reader.
That’s my issue. I don’t think we ever saw him as fast as he could be in his prime.
@@1991jamesbond I think we did. He could have run in 9.5 seconds if everything went his way. Reaction time and wind and his effort as well. I saw him giving everything when he ran the 4x100 relay. Maybe when it comes to individual performance he may not have pushed as hard. In his interviews he said he has never run faster than these times in training.
Coming back here to mention Noah Lyles won this years 100m in 9.83 and Gaye came second in 9.71 how crazy is that 😭 Bolt is unreal!!
A 0.12s differnce being a universe in the 100m
Lyle is a good sprinter……his grandson will be watching another Jamaican getting near to Bolt’s record
This is the “Bolt affect” because bolt was so god dam fast he pushed all the other athletes to train even harder to catch him. This is the only plausible explanation to why the times of all the sprinters were much faster 10-15 years ago. No other sport on the planet follows this logic with people getting worse as time goes on
In 2008 bolt slowed down in the heats and jogged through the finish line with a time of 9.85.... That's how fast these men were. 😅
He is the greatest sprinter of all time. he is a living legend.
Totally agree.
He was simply the perfect sprinter. Even his name tells what he is. There will never be another one like him. Never, neither in 100 years nor in 10000 years.
@@raffaelecafiero3608 there will be no other one like me until the end of the universe.

I fell on the floor in disbelief when I saw 9.58s and my chest nearly burst with pride for my Jamaican parents as if they’d raised him too😂

13 years go passes
But still the greatest 100m race ever
😍😍😍😍
Why did you have to remind me of how old I have become dude?😅

අනිවා brother👍❤️
I think the the greatest 100m race was 2012 Summer Olympics final because it contained five fastest men in history and it is also the most watched 100m race of all time.
@Robin Kujur I want to agree. That 100m was epic.
Such a talented field that was and Bolt still smashed all of them. Legendary performance!
Even Bolt didn't know he would set a record that will be there for 100 Years.
Usain Bolt 🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
50 years not 100, 2nd was 9.71.
I think someone will run 9.54 around 2040
I reckon someone will break his 200m record. But the 9.58 will not be broken, for a very very long time.
It's only been 15 years, so we'll see how long it stands. The current generation is a lot softer and lazier though so that will also make it harder for them to have a shot at beating him, but you never know who might be next up. But if it does stand for 100 years I'm happy I got to watch him as it happened
Could watch this race over & over⚡️
Almost perfection
I do😄
It’s just outstanding running!!
The best one love jamaica 🇯🇲 ❤️
Usain is a once in a lifetime athlete
One of the greatest sporting moments of all time. His record still stands.
He brought the best out of everyone. They stepped it up, but still not enough. Amazing....
The man with everything, speed, charisma, liability. What he did for athletics is incredible. He will always be the number one even if he’s record is broken one day.
The Greatest Athlete of ALL TIME.
From an Aussie 👍
Agree.
He is the G.O.A.T
Phelps?
I think the commentator (the first one) hadn't realized that Bolt had absolutely shattered the WR until his colleagued completely outspoke him.
Haha yeah. Maybe because Gay was so fast as well and somewhat close to him
The other guy saved the commentary then the first guy got onboard.
But this is athletics ffs - it's his JOB to notice and communicate world records as fast as possible!
The commentator said it best, Usain Bolt is Poetry in motion! I love it!!! ❤🇯🇲
The power that he produced in this sprint it’s like he had more in the tank
I always thought he would go under 9.50 but you really only see the very best speeds in an Olympic final because the adrenaline is maxed out.
today is 7/14/2023 and I cant get enough of Bolt in this meet! I miss him competing, he def is the darling of the 100m, world wide.
Jamaicans should take a stand to support this man publicly and wholeheartedly, with a view to get back the money he ran his heart and sustenance for! He deserves justice!
Whole heartedly.
Yes, I agree.
And to think he invested in Jamaica because he loves his country and wanted to support it. Don’t worry Bolt , who God bless , no one can curse.
What blows me away is that two days ago we saw Noah Lyles win gold after running 9.83 and in this race, Asafa Powell won bronze after running 9.84.
And he will never touch Usian Bolt world record period. One love jamaica 🇯🇲 ❤️ 🙏
I never tire of seeing history made. Just incredible. The commentary in this video was fantastic too.
I don’t speak a bit of German…but there is a video out there of a German commentator calling this race and it is absolutely the best.
It looked like he even eased up at the finish line. The fastest human the world has ever seen.
ya and he's huge like 6'5 he runs like a 5'4 guy.
Not only a world record for Bolt but a world photojournalist record as well!
I can't tired of watching this video with the world's best Usain St Leo Bolt 9.58 maddddd
12:47 NOTHING beats this side view... NOTHING. It's perfect. True speed can be seen from this angle, the leg turnover, the upright running, the arm speed... the world record of sprinting
I am never tired of watching this!! WOW!! Bolt " OBLITERATED" his Own World Record. It was just a "Walk in the Park "for him.
Loved the British Commentators, very IMPRESSIVE!! They were Beside themselves. Who wouldn't Be with such a Phenomenal Performance. 👏👏👍👍🥇🇯🇲❤
I always feel he could have done even better
9.58 and he didn't even break a sweat
Didn’t break a sweat?? Are we watching the same race😂😂😂
@@Toetothunder Yes and he definitely could have started better and finished stronger. Better endurance and faster start and that would have actually been his fastest possible. But we can only speculate.
And he had only 0.9 wind. The unbelievable thing is that really this was not his best!!! With 2.0 Wind and a better start he could have run under 9.50, maybe 9.45!!!! This Is insane. The man was a mutant, a next level of human life
I think so too. Wish he put hi mind on continiung like Shelly-anne Fraser Pryce
@@neikomccalla2623 to say he didn’t break a sweat just shows you have limited knowledge of the sport. He looks relax but that man is trying hard in this race, not sure what one you’re watching😂. And it’s easy to say “yeah if he had better speed endurance and a better start he would’ve ran faster”. That’s obvious and applies to everyone. He literally did the first 60m in 6.31 seconds which is quicker than the WR so to criticise his start here is a bit disingenuous
Poetry in motion! You have to love this sport.... 😀
Never in the history of Track & Field will we ever see anybody as great as Usain Bolt
Yes. There’s only one Bolt. Buuuuuut let’s remember her name is Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce she started with Bolt; what she has done and what she is currently doing is unprecedented! I’m giving credit where credit is due.
Flo Jo tho
Thank you Usain , thank you Great Legend . I still can’t get enough of this race. I watch it over and over and over again.
May God continue to bless you and your now offering.
I love and appreciate you.
crazy part is if it wasn't for bolt, Tyson's time of 9.71 would have been the fastest time ever.
That's not correct. Bolt had already set a mark of 9.69.
thats why i said "if it wasn't for bolt". The previous record outside of bolt was 9.72 by asafa powell
@@wiiiz3 ofcourse if it wasn't for the fastest man, the second fastest would be at the top!

Excellent!! Thank you Mr Bolt and Mr Powell🙏🏾❤️🇯🇲
Respect to Tyson Gaye , a humble serious athlete. This was the race that finished his great career. After recovering injury running 9.71 , I think his muscles were asked too much to run down Bolt. Bolt was in a league by himself

The commentary on this race has got to be one of the most iconic ever.
Usain Bolt smoked the competition. That was an out of this world performance by Bolt.
This century has been remarkable so far for sport.
no doubt this is the peak of sports...
by next century we'll be too genetically modified and full of robotic parts, sports will be an entirely different type of thing by then

He was just PHENOMENAL!!!
The God of Sprints!! You heard what the man said? Transcended!!! That what he did that’s what his legacy is! If I was a upcoming sprinter why would I not wanna be compared to the GOAT? Then he came back and broke the record in the 200m and 4x100m relay for the 2nd time in a year, has anyone done that ever? HELL NAH! BOLT, JORDON,PELE,ALI AND SERENA,no names bigger in sports every other big names in sports is secondary!!!!!

I really love the passion with which Steve handled the commentary: the emotions alone...
"...but this man, is poetry in motion ".
This is truly the best. I am still in awe . Thank you Usain and all the other great men
Fantastic, he redefined the sport, we will never see the like of him again.
We will never see a sprinter like Bolt again, never again !!
Never!!
Yeah it's unlikely for another generation, but the development of 18yr old Knighton will be interesting to watch over the next 3yrs!
Never say never
Letsile Tebogo. He probably won't break Bolt's record. But would love to see a dominant sprinter in both the 100m and 200m, who can entertain the crowd as well.
Never ever say never
Two additional things I wish we got out of Bolt's career; more attempts at running close to sub 19s in the 200m and a full season attempt in an off-championship year like 2010 going after the 400 WR especially after running 30.97 in his sole attempt at the 300m which was the sea level WR at the time following MJ's 30.85 at altitude in Pretoria, SA in 2000!
I honestly believe he could have gone sub 19 in his 200m world record he was tired since he broke the 100m World record on the same day and in the last 50m of the 200m world record he slowed down due to fatigue and it was in to a headwind
@@mrnur1910 Yes I think if he'd ever got to attack the 200m without rounds of both the 100/200m in his legs and with a good +1.5m/s tailwind, an 18.9x time was possible!
@@AllInTheGame01 and if he had a quicker reaction time and optimized running, 18.8x would be possible!
Looking back at Bolts career dont you think about the absolute failure by world athletics to capitalise on the opportunity to grow the sport of athletics. The sports greatest ever star came along at a time where global exposure was never greater. I think World Aths really missed a trick here. The reality is athletics is no more popular now than before Bolts time. The only aspect of athletics that is increasing in popularity is road running.
He would have to lose a lot of weight & give up a load of power to change his body to run 400m.... Usain Bolt was 15st & 6'5" - that's a lot of weight to carry around a 400m track & he'd likely have to sacrifice 100m as a result
Can't beat British Sport comentators . They just get everyone bursting with great enthusiasm n excitement. Bolt is just the greatest athlete in History.
Every spectator is cheering Bolt.Thank you Jamaica❤❤❤❤❤

Glad and happy you saw it.

Disappointed by the commentator slowly listing the 1st, 2nd, 3rd places when a WR was just destroyed. Thank god the second commentator comes to the rescue.
The greatest race of all time
Never get tired of watching these old race
After watching the world champion this year 2023 I say we will never see another world record ever for 100m and 200m
As Michael Johnson after he broke the 200m WR (again) in 2009, setting the time of 19:19. 'The man that will break the two records (100 & 200) hasn't been born yet (as of 2009)'. In 2024, the year of the Olympics, no one has run even 15th of a second close to those times yet .
I saw this 100 mts race of U. Bolt 🇯🇲 9.58 seconds W. R. 🇯🇲.... again and again... is my delite. I saw him at Rio 2016 where I was a Voluntary of the Olympic Games.
This race put the track on the field back on the map... popularity soured after these races. Biggest race and the most classical of all time. History, and I watched it live.

Just pure greatness 🙌 👌
Imagine running your fastest race ever and still loosing...yeah..makes you retire early.
Did Carl Lewis ever publicly comment about this race?I wonder .🤔
Being witness to all of this as a kid at the time I felt proud but didn’t understand the historical scope of it all. Now I look back, I get it. Jamaica and the track and field world have met up for years throughout generations of athletes and eras. It’s almost like the world meeting up once a year. To see your country on top at these events especially the Olympics that’s every 4 years it’s absolutely beautiful, because there was a time when track and field was all we had and the only thing that connects us, teach us about different flags and countries. Jamaica and the British empire was a tough place to grow up In for me in the 90s but we have such intriguing, intense and beautiful history and stories. Track and field made me love and appreciate the world and all the different people. It’s just unfortunate so many people cannot see how beautiful the human race is and how more beautiful it is watching and observing it throughout the decades.
I felt something indescribable while watching, despite I know the result! Great performance by Bolt👏
I think he had such a remarkable physiqueq that it almost looks like he had more in him...truly a gifted athlete who eventually grew into his body and dominated on the world stage.
