The most impressive to me is Warren Buffet, he is the only person to stay on the list from beginning to end
True! Didn't even realise XD
He knows how to run a business
Slow and steady wins the race, not these sporadic short term spotlighters
Good with his $
What buisness does he run bro?
The jump of Tesla and consistency of Warren Buffet was impressive 😵
Tesla Satellites are full filling a biblical professy.
It won't be water, but fire next time.
It's Tesla, SpaceX, Starlink, Neuralink, and the Boring company. The private valuation of SpaceX alone is probably close to $1 trillion. Elon will be 3-4 times richer than anyone on Earth in 6-7 years.
Domination of Bill Gates,
wow so smart are you like ten years old
Elon Musk goes from 51B to 195B in just three quarters, then from 315B to 132B in one year. That's one hell of a ride.
That's why he goes instantly viral in pandemic since he can 4x his wealth in just 9 months. And split to 3 again. I respect more to Bezos and Mark
Man has balls the size of planets.
The numbers are meaningless anyway. It's just speculated stock prices. If any of these people actually wanted to cashout their wealth the numbers would be very different
@@16m49x3 Warren Buffet is holding billions in hard cash. Waiting for a good time to invest it. As I understand it.
I just looked up Forbes and apparently Elon reclaimed the 1# spot and nearly doubled his worth in the mere 8 months since this video came out
Taikichiro Mori, Tokyo Developer was the wealthiest man in the 1980s, as ranked by Forbes Magazine. The son of a rice farmer, he taught Economics until age 55, when he decided to quit his day job, and focus entirely on his side hustle, which was to slowly and with the consent and cooperation of locals, build Toyko into the gleaming modern metropolis it is today. He had seen, twice, the city destroyed by the 1923 Earthquake, and bombed in WW2. He would go on to architected the skyline of the Imperial City, changing small narrow streets where children would play hide, and seek, and spin tops as games, into neighborhood buildings unto themselves filled with apartments, offices, theaters, TV stations, shops and markets. Living modestly, he worked in a traditional kimono, and abstained from drink and tobacco. He is survived by several children, and a wife, when he died at age 88, a year after the Toyko real estate market, and its extraordinary prices, corrected itself.
Warren Buffet be like : Consistency is the key.
Paul Allen be like: good businesscard is key
Steve Balmer be like: good college roommate is the key
He literally says that
Consistency is really the key in everything...literally everything.
“Enduring competitive advantage”
Holy shit I didn't realize just how fast Elon went from nowhere to literally the richest man on earth in like a year
He just set the world record for losing money in the last couple days.
"nowhere" hes been a multi billionaire for decades lol. His wealth sky rocketed, because he was good at marketing and is now crashing.
Yes Elon Musk is the best
All it takes is scamming and exploiting a lot of people with overpriced vaporware
@@chrisrus1965 no
What stands out most to me is Buffet's consistency, Musk rocketing up the list at incredible speed, and Louis Vuitton (Bernard Arnault) topping the list. I had no idea high fashion had sales like that. I'm so far from that world I guess.
Louis Vuitton is LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy) -- it goes way beyond just clothing.
It's the opposite. Your so very close to the ground. These people are far from the world
The Saudi King and family don't release their income data, and many speculate they are worth over 1 Trillion. Also Vladimir Putin could be even richer than the Saudi King
The irony is, it's the Walmart crowd wearing Louis and giving away what little money they have to cosplay being wealthy
Well LVMH (Louis Vuitton) owns way more than just LV. They got Tiffany, Hennessy (the drink), Dior, Sephora, Fendi, Celine, and way more including Rihanna's brand Fenty. Chances are if it's a big designer name LV owns it.
The amount of money they made during 2020 just shows the transfer of wealth that took place.
I viewed it as showing when government prints money and gives it to poor people, they blow it on things that rich people make.
While the rich people invested it, so they could sell more stuff to the dumb people.
As a low skill hourly worker, i almost gained 50% in my net worth in just 2 years... took all that money, invested it with these guys, and they helped me make money
Also 08. Everyone on the list pretty much got richer

The friendly rivalry between Warren Buffett and Bill Gates is absolutely crazy, all those years they stayed on top.
They’re actually good friends. I read somewhere that they regularly play Bridge together
@@Amazongrassmonster I meant rivalry in a friendly sense, ofc. I've seen once a video of them two visiting a candy shop together, on Bill's channel, and they were surprisingly casual about it, like two old friends taking a stroll.

Elon Musk went from not even being on the list to being the richest one in 100 billion$ in the lead in less than a minute

Rob, Jim, Alice, Christy, and Lukas Walton have a combined net worth of roughly 230 Billion. If Sam Walton had just one Son or Daughter, that person would perpetually have been on top for most of this list.
💯 pretty impressive how he's been on the list every so often. Drops off then comes back again. 230 billion is a lot of money
Elon topped 300 Billy
yes
maybe not, If Sam Walton had only one heir, it's possible that the company's expansion, diversification, and overall success could have been different compared to the scenario where the wealth and responsibilities were divided among multiple descendants.
Love your productions! Would like to see updates on the most popular lists currently ended c.2019... Cheers!
Steve Jobs never being on this list is shocking. His net worth was pretty low considering how much of a household name he was.
He held mostly Disney and Apple stock but didn’t have much since he sold his original 20% ownership of Apple when he was ousted back in the mid-80s. Then Apple’s and Disney’s stock price didn’t really take off until after he passed away. Would have been worth $600 billion+ today if he kept those Apple shares plus what he had from Disney after selling Pixar.
im surprised Trump is not on the list since he and some people sell him as one of the wealthiest people.
his salary was $1 a year at apple when he returned. the value of that stock would be crazy now but he died and probably would have been fired again at appl as no innovation has occurred since.

There were some companies I was surprised to see show up, especially ALDI, which I consider to be a niche grocery store chain I heard of WAY later than when their leaders ended up on this list.
They are really big in Germany
@@Nisc3d I figured that may gave had something to do with it! I've been there before. Kind of an odd place, with items that come and go. You never know what you'll find!
America is just slow to catch onto Aldis trend.
As a German, I've always been confused about the Aldi owners being so rich. Aldi stores are indeed everywhere in Germany, but so are many other big supermarket chains. As you said, Aldi stores are weird places in general, and I don't really know anyone (besides my dad) who would name them as their favourite supermarket. I really don't know why they are so damn rich, my only guess would be that other supermarket company owners just don't have as many shares of their company as the Aldi owners have.
@@jonashorn8354 haha that's very interesting insight! It does explain a little more than I knew before.

Papa Walton passing away while at number 1 and three of his successors immediately entering the list is an underrated moment in this
It only means that top spot was more than 3 times the 10's spot

very informative video
This feedback is not intended as criticism as I enjoy these videos and usually follow the channel. It is a bit confusing, though, that in this particular video some are identified by their country flag and others (presumably all American?) by the name of the company that made them rich. I would have stuck to just one kind of info - either their country of origin only or their respective companies/entities.
Agree!
no, the aldi brothers werent from the states for example but i agree
Lakshmi is a property investor. Do you want a icon of a house. Better to have the flag as he is an Indian philanthropist
@@007kash007 what I said is for consistency's sake - in that case flags alone should have been enough with each name

It's the first time since 2017 that the Luxury brand owner's wealth exceeds technology company founders.
respect for Warren is the essence of the video
the problem with the wealth of each person is that it is not real money they have on their bank accounts but (in most cases) just speculative numbers based on the value of stakes they hold in their companies. that is why elon musk suddenly reaches 300 billion dollars and right after falls back to 100 billion dollars. that doesn't mean he spent 200 billion dollars. it is just because tesla's stock value dropped.
@fudgepacker i do not think that elon musk could go to a shop, order a 300 billion dollars product and pay for it. it is imaginary money they will never hold in their hands. the numbers just describe the momentaneous value of their belongings. nobody is going to pay them that money to buy their property.
But is 'real' money actually real wealth? Cash is just paper and coin representing a value, like a token. It isn't actually valuable itself. Monies are rarely if ever made from gold and silver anymore.
@@storbokki371 Well yeah but at least tokens are palpable, they are a proper thing. Stake values are virtual. There's simply no way Elon Musk would have been able to acquire 300$ billion ever.
All this graphic is stock value
Exactly, if you're "worth" $200 billion in shares, and you sell all of those shares, the proceeds are not adding up to $200 billion :D

Wow, Sam Walton (Walmart) died as the richest man in the world. Once he died, it immediately erased him from the list and it split up between his 3 kids, all dropping to the bottom of the list. That’s crazy.

The obscene amount of money held by just 100-200 people is beyond shocking. Among them they can start a top 5 GDP country. Like USA, China, UK, France or Germany. Just 200 people and that's all. Most people have no idea how much a billion dollars actually is. Think about the last time you spent 100,000 dollars at one time - Maybe you paid a loan, maybe you bought a house. If you do that every day, continuously for 25 years, then you will have spent one billion dollars.
These people have a HUNDRED billion dollars. They can buy new different homes EVERY DAY for 2500 YEARS.
Now think about why there is poverty in this world where a billion people don't get food to eat for days.

There is 7.8 billion people in the world. The richest person in the world could give a billion dollars to each person and it would still be just a small percentage of their wealth. But if every person had a billion things would be devalued, everything would become way more expensive and a billion would be like nothing.
