    We've upgraded our camper shell (among other things) to a Vagabond Outdoors Drifter Camper. The last video I did on my Leer 100XR was a decent hit so I figured I would do another one of the new setup. Hopefully you find this useful and entertaining.
    The Drifter by Vagabond Outdoors is a wedge style pop up camper made of an aluminum structure that built in the USA and made to travel. It's one of a couple of newer style wedge pop up campers on the market.
    Here in this video I do a quick setup of the Drifter and awning, as well as take down of the awning.
    Be sure to like and subscribe as I'll be uploading my interior walk through video shortly!

    Such a sick setup. It's crazy how fast you can set it up.

      It seriously takes no time at all. It's pretty rad to have it setup in just a few minutes.

    Thanks for keeping it sort of low key. I am so tired of the words "crazy" and "fantastic", and "rad", over used by other you tubers. Along with the dizzying hand waving these things distract from other wise great content. Keep up the good work. Looks like a terrific product, too bad the wait is so long.

      lol well said, except you forgot "sketch" they use that one over, and over.
      One youtuber I counted he used the word sketch, 27 times in 22 minutes.

    Ultimately, can you be comfortable inside when its in tent mode doing camp stuff? Cooking. Cleaning. Etc?

    • @TravelingNobodys
      @TravelingNobodys  Před 4 lety

      Potentially. We are considering an interior build out but haven't gone that far yet.

    Is that awning 180/270, a Vagabond option, or sourced elsewhere? How is the mattress…most of them sort of suck. Does Vagabond support the Tundra Crew Max? Does the rig have any sealing against dust and water intrusion? Is a battery / solar system an option? What about a mounted water vessel…also, a water heater option for outside shower? Is there a shower mounting option outside? Do the windows open and offer anti bug screens? Are the any mounting systems inside and out side for other gear, i.e. MAX TRAX, I think they are called. Thanks and sorry for all of the questions. Nice Rig and video. I am thinking of a Project M, but this sounds like a decent competitor!!!

      The awning was an option available directly through Vagabond Outdoors and installed when the camper was built. It is an Alu-Cab Shadow 270 and it is incredible.
      We added a 1" foam topper for a bit more support on the mattress as it was a bit lacking originally. After the top we didn't mind it at all. I think Vagabond offers an upgraded air mattress now.
      Yes they support the Tundra in all it's bed configurations. The camper for the full size trucks is called the Nomad.
      Water isn't really an issue. We never had any leaking. Dust is a bit tough due to the nature of the tailgate construction on the truck. We sealed it up with foam liner and a tailgate seal and it minimized the dust.
      Yep, they can add solar and battery systems.
      You can add water, toilets, heat, whatever you want, as long as you pay for it.
      Yes, a mounting system is available for the outside and can support a shower setup.
      You can mount just about anything inside with a bit of ingenuity.
      Yes the side windows have bug screens and the big rear window opens completely.
      In comparison to the Camp -M, we chose the Drifter and would do it again. Hope that helps.

    Sick set up! Can you tell me more about the awning? Is it a additional accessory you added to the camper, what brand?

    • @TravelingNobodys
      @TravelingNobodys  Před 4 lety +1

      It is an additional accessory. It was added on by Vagabond at the factory so the mounting is done really well. The awning itself is an Alu-Cab Shadow 270°

    How come there’s no videos for the vagabond nomad?

      I wish there was. I don't think there's a lot of them out there and due to that a video has not been made.

    I'm glad you have a Drifter and love it but I ordered a Drifter from Vagabond Outdoors over 34 months ago, paid over $11,000 for it, and still have not received it. To make things worse, Vagabond Outdoors will not respond to emails or answer their phone. Vagabond Outdoors appears to have stopped production and stopped all communication with their customers.
    Update: I picked up my Drifter last week. In the end it took a little over 37 months. It does look like things are starting to move at Vagabond.

      That's a bummer. I have followed the issues online and it's definitely a bummer. I hope they can get it together, but individuals like yourself have been hoping that for a long time and it doesn't seem like it's going to get much better. We actually sold our Drifter and the truck and are in the process of getting a different platform. It's also been extremely delayed. However, while we were considering another Drifter, we've pretty much moved on from that as it's not quite right for our needs in the future, and we're not interested in dealing with the delay issues.
