The Second Red Bull Seat Got Spicy: czcams.com/video/xuGX1ZanNNU/video.html
lucky Daniel is driving so bad or you would just be a wanker on a ladder
Liam deserves a seat, and if redbull won't give him one I don't blame him for leaving
Indeed. He and his team are taking the initiative.
There's only 20 seats available. Noone deserves a seat.
He is already confirmed for a RB seat for 2025. That was last year in Japan already announced and told to him.
@@LawVSin Japan last season Liam was already confirmed as driver for 2025 for RB! Remember? Even with the mention of MAYBE EARLIER….. HE HAS A SEAT AT RB NEXT SEASON….and maybe even this season already.
Correction, multiple people on the grid deserve it less than him. Multiple people deserve a spot, and are being held out for no reason past optics @@HoldenMaGroin-ne6vv
Liam is basically letting it be known, "Hey, I ain't getting any younger over here!" to the world now! And the plot thickens, as they say!
I said it before, Liam should have been in that car since the start
Yep, however I suspect that the Super Formula may have had some obligations to be met. I'm all for Riciardo to leave F1 and get Lawson in. Yuki and Lawson would be a better combo.
While I'm not always a fan of replacing drivers mid-season - we do see that some teams have 2nd drivers who underperform for way too long. Some people just don't show any promise or evolution.

Liam has impressive maturity to manage to the pressure of constant auditions while being told ‘well tell you if you’re driving next week’.
His drive in Singapore was exceptional having already been told he had no drive for 2024.
Red Bull may lose him due to politics, money, and Horner’s fascinating with Danny Ric.
DR being a comedian doesn't automatically mean you go fast.
Yeah and its not that funny either. Its literally just Frat boy goofyness. It isn't appealing at all.
@@mattt525it isn’t appealing for you and me, but it definitely is appealing for other people, that’s the problem
Not being fast also makes him not funny. He hasn’t been funny in at least a few years. Or ever? His funny always seem to be filled with awkward moments
Class clown, too much sillyness.
Wow you guys take life too seriously. He is just driver, a bad one, but that shouldn’t sour your lives.
Ricciardo being in that car instead of Lawson is an abomination
Zach Morris’ … I mean… Liam Lawson’s hair is an abomination.
Dans done, times up.
@@mrwolsy3696
Agreed he’s not doing so well, he’s either have to step up or step down
Danny is Horner’s golden boy. It’s all very Stroll-like.
Shhhhhh, you have no clue what you’re talking about.
Imagine the same thing with Liam on X responding:
"I understand that, without my agreement Red Bull..."
This story would be hilarious.
Drive To Survive was working overtime to act like it was Yuki who denied Liam a race seat when Liam was told before Sinagpore that he wouldn't be renewed. Red Bull's decision to renew Daniel after seeing him in 1 race and one FP session over Liam who showed over 5 races that while not faster than Yuki, he could handle himself well is bizarre.
But in fairness, I don't think Liam has that many options outside of Red Bull so they kind of have him where they want him. Every other team on the grid has their own junior academies, Williams doesn't want to be a rookie stepping stone team, and his best chance now is staying put for 2025.
I think Sainz could beat him out MAYBE, Max will stay put, Aston is looking like a good spot for 2025 to Me....
Felipe Drugovich can't even get a seat, and he won an F2 title comfortably. It took a second team desiring him, and a driver walking out, blindsiding them, that led to Oscar Piastri getting a seat. Liam Lawson only has himself to blame for not putting himself in contention in F2. He didn't even win a feature race in two years in the category.
@@mikespearwood3914 I actually agree with you. This is part of the narrative around Liam that gets ignored and its that Yuki trounced him in F3 and F2 in their shared seasons and that Liam didn't impress in his second F2 season either. Super Formula and the reserve stint did a lot to boost his stock but while capable, he's not a generational talent like Oscar
I would now pick Oscar and LIam over Max (whom i have supported from the start - even in his stroppy/churlish beginning.) Both Liam and Oscar have more character than Max - who seems to be Jos's shadow. @@leena9360
Have a watch of Liams 2021 DTM season. 2nd also (robbed in finale) and beat then team mate Alex Albon.
A Williams reunion wouldn't be too bad...
Liam first seemed like the kind of guy that raced only to be in a cockpit, the one that cared about cars to the extent that the sport went. However, seeing his video about modifying his Supra grounded him to reality, purely because he cared about the culture. He liked the sounds, the mods and the experience. We need more drivers that are enthusiastic about racing as a whole, rather than just finishing laps. I admire the racing of most of the grid, but we need more drivers that are a part of the culture.
Liam and Oscar.
Danny ric is bout to beat de vries's record of being booted from a team in a season
Nah. Debris got kicked on his *first* season, and Danny has already had a full season with RB.
As much as I want to sympathise Ricciardo, he was extremely arrogant in 2014 season and acted as if he won 5 championships for Red Bull already. He had some potential but his attitude stunted his growth. He’s never gonna get better. It’s time for him to retire, again.
I cant believe this isnt mentioned more often. He effectively did the same when he ditched cyril and renault cause the car wasn't what they thought it would be. Guy's flip flopped more than any other driver and imo its the #1 reason he's in the shitter
Time to earn his indy stripes, f1 is over.
@@mrwolsy3696 No no no please leave Indy out of it thanks !!
Fr. Blud thought he's on his way up. Saying things like " I changed this sport". " Battle with Alonso in Germany GP was hard but fair, i can lap him next time for sure " etc
Smart kid. Horner was brazen enough to say out loud that they would consider someone 'outside the camp' for the next Red Bull seat, recently. Timely warning, and just kind of reminding ppl that he isn't ignoring what's happening.
I like the honey badger, but even I felt like putting him in alpha over Lawson was a mistake.
What’s to like? He sucks. He’d do better as a commentator
@@Maxdubi he used to be really good. He had a win in Monaco where he lost electric power and was like more than 120HP down vs the field for the majority of the race and still won. He is the only one to have matched max (even though max was young) but yeah he used to be very good. But that was another era now he def is just not better than Lawson and maybe not even better than tsunoda
2:35 - Nice 🤓 - “Gentlemen, a short view back to the past”
Forty years ago, Niki Lauda told us ‘take a monkey, place him into the cockpit and he is able to drive the car.’ Thirty years later, Sebastian told us ‘I had to start my car like a computer, it’s very complicated.’ And Nico Rosberg said that during the race - I don’t remember what race - he pressed the wrong button on the wheel. Question for you both: is Formula One driving today too complicated with twenty and more buttons on the wheel, are you too much under effort, under pressure? What are your wishes for the future concerning the technical programme during the race? Less buttons, more? Or less and more communication with your engineers?
@@Near_VoidRemote Control from the pits , no bottons on the steering wheel needed.
If Liam went to McLaren. It would be great to see a kiwi in Bruce McLaren's team.
Well said.
Imagine if Norris goes to the free Merc seat then McLaren picks up Lawson and we have an Anzac duo at a kiwi team
Man that'd be on
Who is he replacing at McLaren?
@@Crownleyiandoesn’t matter both of them are useless.
Why Liam didn't get the seat is due to everyone forgetting Nyck De Vries, Italian GP Williams debut that got him the Alpha Tauri seat and how did that turn out! If you look deep at Tsunoda and Ricciardo's quali times you will probably only see 1-2 tenths overall difference.
What year was it when 3-car teams were last being suggested? Imagine how different the teams would look if they all fielded a 3rd car... would add a bit of spice :)
The whole world would be delighted to see 'Daniel back', but not so far. With RB's plethora of currently performing talent and Carlos Sainz needing a drive, it's hard to see an underperforming Daniel not getting shuffled out even if Christian Horner really wants him. Certainly Liam Lawson must be on the grid next year, if not in a RB then somewhere else.
Maybe Joss will unhappily for his son sort all of this out - amazing talent or not, I wouldn't have Max in my team while his dad is around.
My feeling about Max as well. He needs to tell daddy to take a hike.
Weirdly, Marko was mostly responsible for keeping Lawson out in ‘23 by promoting de Vries.
Then Horner did the same through his support of Danny Ric.
Liam needs to look for other options ..
The problem is, if he takes a seat with Williams, the issues with the car and that team may never allow his skill to be recognized.
Well him being on the bench now gives him a 0% chance of his skills being recognized
@@NaawGThat is true, I think at this point in Liam's journey any F1 seat is better than nothing! You just need your foot in the door.
My point is, that in Formula 2 and super formula, they have far more equal cars, so it is much easier to spot a stand out driver. It also gives a young driver far fewer excuses to justify a lack of performance and forces them to improve. It has to be tough for a young driver in an underperforming car to not either totally blame the car or lose confidence in their abilities.
I don't recall Liam blaming the car, losing confidence - is making progress - is the issue now.@@wesd3370
Comparison is a bit difficult between Lawson and Tsunoda, as Tsunoda also had his fair share of bad luck during those races to be fair. On the other hand, he didn't use his chance in Singapore qualifying so it is still impressive what he did in that time
Lawson can’t be (now or ever) compared with Verstappen. That’s a fact. He can’t even be compared with Piastri, or prime Danny Ric. (Current Danny sure, whether he’s in a slump or has just lost his edge, I dunno but it’s obvious he’s not up to form). Let’s not forget he was getting absolutely curb stomped by Yuki in Zandvoort before AT screwed Yuki by leaving him out for way too long waiting for a chance at extra rain. The only reason he did as well as he did in Zandvoort was bc he was so far behind when the rain fell, they were able to send courier pigeons to let him know where the bad hydroplaning spots were on track that others had unfortunately found the hard way and went off track. Subsequently letting a meandering Lawson lumber through while they were waiting to get back on track. Lawson isn’t good enough for RBR. That’s a fact. Not at the moment at least. Albon would be a way better option currently. Lawson would be good enough for RB. But you put him next to car number 1 and Max will end his career. It’ll be Gasly/Albon all over again.
Calling Nico Rosberg " Brittany" had me do a spit. 🤣
I found it childish and unnecessary, but I don't go out of my way to call someone I don't know a name they don't like to be called.

Also worth noting that Liam missed a rookie Super Formula championship by 8 points, even though the west barely pays attention to it. Get Danny out of that seat. Yuki and Liam are also an entertaining duo in the media days, Daniel Yuki is a tense matchup currently.
Super Formula is underrated, especially with the recent cars. Miyata being competitive in F2 is a great example.
If DR doesn’t do well in a few races HE WILL GET DR’s seat… DR knows that. YUKI also knows he has to perform and Checo too
@@LawVSMiyazaki’s isn’t competitive in F2… have you watched the races? I have incl Quali’s. He has clear difficulty in Quali and race. He hasn’t been doing well at all. I understand that he needs to understand the car but THEY ALL DO cos it’s a completely NEW F2 CAR this season.
That’s also why Prema has been struggling, they are one of the strongest teams but they clearly can’t get their head around this new F2 car…so far. Antonelli and Bearman have been struggling in Quali in F2 in this new car. The first weekend they were last row…
Miyata had been driving Super Formula on 6 tracks only on repeat. F2 is 10 different tracks. He needs time to adapt. He will. But so far, Miyata isn’t doing a job to stand out with his Super Formula experience
@@Redlingsteinhe finished p5 in both races last weekend tbf.
Nothing crazy, but not too bad if he can keep improving.
If he didn't have the crash, which was definitely his fault for being too eager to pass Nojiri, I'd say he would've won it overall.
I like liam don't get me wrong, it's why I believe there should be more customer teams. I just don't like the word deserve for an f1 seat. We can all name 10 drivers who had ample people saying they deserve a chance. It's always about sponsorships, money & personal relationships
I'm a big Liam fan, I was watching his super formula races before he got put in for Daniel. can't wait for him to make it in F1 permanently.
Liam Lawson also is hearing about Ollie and others coming up as well so he needs to make his move.
Great Chanel mate, keep it up. 100k subs soon i think.
He gave no "warning" He said if it doesn't work out with RB he'd go to another team, he wants to be a Formula 1 driver. The interview is on yt. Fox Sports Australia.
It's a very public declaration of impatience.
@@LawVS It sounded matter of fact. A reasonably intelligent person could have deduced all of what he said BEFORE the interview.
@@LawVSno it’s a comment to say to Marko…. give DR the boot mid season, saying that he can deliver more… not that he wants to go somewhere else lol
I bookmarked this when it was released to see how well it would age. As I write this comment, it’s after Miami sprint qualifying. Already it looks a little like it was jumping to an extreme conclusion. But you may still be right. I’ll be back after a few more races.
Great video keep it up you're doing amazing things 😁💯
Regarding Miyata, him being in F2 is paid by Toyota to acclimate him in European circus scene to prepare him to future WEC campaign with Toyota. He pretty much completed domestic Japanese racing scene from bottom to top (Japanese F4 all the way to Super GT and Super Formula). Not likely Miyata will be in F1 but hey, stranger things already happened before.
Perhaps but this is certainly a great introduction thus far.
LawVS doesn't skip leg day on the ladder
Red Bull should let it's young driver program work again. Next year's lineup Red Bull: Max and Yuki, RB: Lawson and ?? (Iwasa?)
9:18 bro, how did you get the Danny Ric voice so perfectly???
I love your videos dude. I find your points valid and that Daniel Ricardo bit sent me😂
Cheers mate, keep it coming
Seeing masakox pop up when I randomly clicked on this vid was a mental flash bang
17:11 that could be interesting
max taking liam under his wing and with redbull full backing, liam could become a menace
Perez is better than Liam, his not that good plus there are better F2 and F1 reserve drivers on the waiting list for a top seat like that.
Pierre Gasly is also an ex SuperFormula driver - if Liam can almost take champion, he's fairly ready.
While I do believe Liam is a little overconfident (he inherited a much better car on courses that suited the AlphaTauri, and didn't exactly beat Tsunoda when they could be compared) of course Liam has to play games to pressure RedBull, and get his foot in the F1 door.
You explain the politics of F1 better than anyone else! Thanks LawVS
I think the glaring blind spot in everyone saying that Red Bull is making a mistake by not putting Liam Lawson in a vehicle is that everyone is assuming Liam Lawson is the next Max Verstappen or Oscar piastri. Right now, Yuki is doing just as good as Liam would be doing, and that’s not been good enough for him to get a Red Bull seat over Perez. At the end of the day is Liam good I’m sure he’s perfectly fine as an F1 driver but is he the next Max Verstappen will he hasnt proven that in junior carigories to now. Would you really take Liam Lawson over Carlos , Nico,, george pouchere, Drugovich, hauger, Antonelli or Zane Maloney ?? I don’t think it’s that definitive.
I think Checo has finally warmed up the the RB car. They design it for nothing but speed so if you aren't max it can take a long time to adjust
I doubt Yuki might stay in AT, regardless of his performance, given that he is still a Honda driver, rather than a RB driver.
Especially if Alonso leaves Aston Martin after this year, we could see Yuki moving there early because of Aston's deal with Honda from 2026 onwards.
Red Bull's young driver development program is a cul-de-sac ... last driver to get called up into F1 was Alex Albon in 2018. If Lawson has any sense, he'll be looking to explore alternative avenues and remind other teams that he's up for grabs. Even Alpine is now more appealing than the toxic climate at Red Bull. Trying to kickstart his F1 career amidst a power struggle isn't the smartest of moves.
Lmao I loved the reference to that one press conference at 2:35 😂
The “this fella” in Daniel’s voice 😂
Many people were pegging him?!?! in here I thought Mr. Lawson was a pure fellow.
Lawson absolutely deserves a seat! As well as Ollie Bearman. They are both ready to race in F1
When the Liam channel came out my first comment was that he had to build up his stock value. And well done to him!
It would be a genius move if Toto went and got Alex Palou.
Zanardi flashbacks...
Palou wouldn't take that lol. The reason he broke contract with McLaren is because of Oscar, he wouldn't ditch a winning Indy team just to be Kimi's seat-warmer for a season or two.
@@EvarakeusThat's not a lock.
I do love Danny but it’s very obvious he hasn’t been the same driver since joining mclaren he’s definitely out of his prime and I wanna see yuki and Lawson team up I love my redbull drivers and I think the two of them will definitely be a fun young duo to watch in the future of f1
i met lawson at motegi at a super formula race, he also span there
As somebody said if your trying to sell beer in the market place, like Australia, the team has more promotional reach with Daniel rather than Liam. Fact is I think Liam is in the unfortunate situation of being held up by the team who don't want to give him a seat but really don't want him in someone else's car either. It's happened before numerous times with some of these guys sitting out until they're too old or forgotten.
12:02 He is like a tiger trapped in the cHorner. hehe.
People seem to overlook that Liam also almost won the DTM series in his rookie season, on tracks he'd never driven, and a car he had little experience of. In the history of the German touring car championship nobody had ever done such a feat. Why did he lose by 3 point? because the naughty German drivers look like they conspired to take him out of the last round.
My armchair prediction is Sainz will go to Redbull, and Liam will get into the "RB"
Daniel is a great guy. An asset to the F1 scene ... no doubt. Did he deserve going back to RB? No, he did not.
He's one on the list of drivers that don't deserve to remain in F1 like Lance (!), Zhou, Bottas, Magnussen and Sargeant.
"A short view back to the past" ❤
Liam Lawson should drive for LawVS
I could ignore all the hearsay and rumors and back and fourth in the press about Daniel IF Daniel wasn't regurgitating the same confusion and discomfort with the car and struggling to get to grips just yet comments as he had with McLaren. At least there, we could blame the difficult car for some of that, but now it's a team he loves and at least one really keen team principal that actively want him at Racing Bulls who seem to be bending over backwards to keep him (for now) and help him diagnose the car, so what now? I frankly thought it was a crime Lawson isn't in that seat after what he had to prove and did proof, so I'm on the no mercy train (as a fan with literally no say in theses decisions, anyway, lol), that he's got to beat Yuki or give the seat to Lawson.
That is why Nic DeVries(?) got handled so abruptly in F1 he setup his car for Danny Riccardo to score points, NO CREDIT GIVEN.
He needs to chill. He's gonna wind up putting heavy expectations on himself and allow for no wiggle room
F1 needs to change that 2 race rule. It seems a safety concern that there are reserves drivers that aren't race sharp, simply because they're not allowed to drive in FP.
The capricious and fickle nature of Formula 1 fans never fails to exhaust one's patience. Frankly, the opinions of fans or even the F1 media must hold as much weight for team principles as the remnants I leave behind in the lavatory before retiring for the evening...
Of course.I don't count the ladder man among them
There could be a lot of moving pieces on the chessboard next year, it's anyone's guess to how Liam Lawson will fit in, I just hope he is racing in F1.
if things don't change too much it's Lawson in RB/AT/TR and Yuki to Red Bull me thinks
Yuki couldnt handle the redbull. Its just not viable.
@@renereyes1425 Yet Daniel can despite not proving himself against supposedly weaker teammates? Let's be real here.
@@renereyes1425 and you think that because?
@@kuromori6200 daniel is soley for marketing and sales.
@kuromori6200, neither are worthy of the seat. Yuki can't handle being told he's #2, and Ricciardo just kinda sucks in this era car.
imagine if there was a magical 11th team named after an american racing family with kimi antinelli and liam lawson.
Also I think Danny rics broken wrist is the culprit for liam not getting a chance, because had Danny stayed the full year, with the way sergio's year went, either Danny or Yuki would have gotten the 2nd RB seat this year, but with the wrist break, and sergio more or less not being a complete useless driver towards the end was why liam didn't get a seat this year.
Liam's comments in DTS were smart. He knew it would cause speculation and he could show he was really annoyed with the situation. Now he's continuing that message in the media and shows he's not going to wait. I still think RB was going to drop Yuki and Honda intervened, but Daniel isn't a darling like he was last year so it'll be him that's dropped I think
You need to spend less time in the attic! 😂. Great episodes. 👍🏻
I do want Lawson in the RB seat, but the Yuki comparison is very skewed. Lawson completed more laps - Well yeah Tsunoda’s engine blew up before reaching the starting grid in Monza and then Perez decided to stick his nose into his floor in Singapore. Throw in a very questionable strategy in Zaandvort when Tsunoda had been 30 seconds up the road from Lawson fighting Hamilton and Norris before being left out while everyone pitted, and there end up being a lot of circumstances that prevented a true direct comparison.
Japan was Lawson’s best race because there he did get a direct comparison of Tsunoda, he was 0.3 slower in qualifying but roughly level in the race, perhaps marginally slower. The only other direct comparison the two had was in Qatar and that was a weekend where Lawson drove more like the rookie we expected in Zaandvort.
Im glad Lawson is really pushing for that seat and subtly hinting time is running out because he will look outside Red Bull.
I will take back what I said about Riccardo if they find an issue with his car and hes able to match/beat Yuki regularly from here to thr Summer break. I just dont see it happening. He is following the McLaren pattern of sparse results.
I like your comments on all things F1.
But I always find myself puzzled by this:
Did you build a mini studio that resembles an attic or do you just leave your legs dangling from the ceiling as you record?
It's my actual loft.
I love how i went from watching ur dragonball z videos to now ur f1 videos lol
I've been hot on this case since last year when Liam stepped onto the scene. I'm a Yuki fan, and although I don't dislike Danny Ric, but I've always thought they should prioritise someone else given that he's taking a seat in a JUNIOR team and I feel as though he hasn't been up to speed for a couple years now. I think both Yuki and Danny are in hot water though and they're being scrutinised more than any other driver atm so they have to be careful. On a side note, Yuki and Liam's friendship was so much fun to watch and you can see they're happy together. I've always found Yuki and Dan's relationship to be a little forced and weird to watch.
I think Red Bull gotten more careful after they followed the hype train of Debris
Liam has proven himself though.
Liam has proven himself across multiple races, De Vries was just one race in the easiest track of the calendar in a car that excelled in straight line speed.
If Red Bull was careful they wouldn't have put Ricciardo in the care after his years at McLaren.
Another reason to widen the field. There are more drivers than seats and drivers are sticking around longer. Marketability is almost as important as driver ability. Yuki has a seat as long as Honda is involved. Daniel can be bad as long as he shines once and a while and his personalty carries him.
Big fan of DR but its truly time for old gen to step down so that new gen can take over
I have a weird feeling if Danny Ricc doesn’t finish above or next to yuki Lawson will be called in. And I thought that before his statement.
2:35 😏 Nice.
Put Danny Ric, Liam and Yuki into an RB20 and do 20 laps do that across 3 rounds which each driver taking pole. The driver whom wins the most rounds gets the top seat, the second driver gets into racing bulls and the last gets dropped.
Is that sweater from H&M? I have the same one 😂
juju is actually infront of Theo Pourchair in SF
Lmao I remember watched the Sky F1 podcast and he got asked that question, tbh I think he answered it well.
0:01 Liam Lawson* not Oscar piastri
I spoke to you in a call today in zooming pasts discord
Bro racing super formula is usually the sign of a good driver. They are much faster than f2 cars and japanese circuits are legit. Schumacher, Vandoorne, Gasly, Fittipaldi, Lawson all competed in Super Formula
So what did you think LawVs of your circuit brought to life in Asseto Corsa?
It looks incredibly brilliant. I'm also happy people are having fun with it.
It never takes long for my favorite latter man to appear in the YT feed 😊
Yuki to Red bull or aston and liam and iwasa to racing bull would be the dream scenario
Max and Yuki ( Honda backed ) to Amarco Aston Martin ( Lawrence sells his majority part to the Saudi's and excl. Honda powered in ´26 ). Lance playing tennis ( really good, better then driving F1 cars ). Fernando and Carlos to Red Bull, where Fernando wins his third World Driver Championship. VAMOOOOOOS! Liam in the VCARB together with the Hulk. Balance young/experienced to develop the team. Fernando, after winning his 3rd title, goes racing endurance or something, because he just does not get old. He leaves F1 on a high. After that Liam can go to Red Bull ( if he still wants there is another question ). Again a good balanced driver pair. And of course Ollie in the Haas to begin with. If he performs he can take Lewis's seat after he's retiring ( won't last as long as Nando though ). Checo at Mercedes. Now let's wait, and see what will really happen.
Someone better give Liam a seat!
For me, it is a simple, normal answear.
What would a pilot answear?
"Well, if [Team] don't give me the chance, I quit racing and go fishing, instead".
I am not hoping for it to happen, but it would be interesting to see either max or checo miss a race and compare Liam to someone other than yuki
Lawson would need time in F1 first.
Love the shoutout to Juju! 🤩
That said if it was up to me (a nobody on teh internet) I would have already replaced Ricciardo with Lawson for this season, how he did on Mclaren was enough to cast more than enough doubts on his capacity to still be a top F1 driver.
