Luke, about the predictions, you made a football rookie mistake: NEVER SLEEP ON THE GERMANS. I think it was England legend Gary Lineker who said "football is a simple game, 22 men chase a ball for 90 minutes, and in the end, the Germans always win"
one thing i think is worth a mention is that Leverkusen Dortmund game with ucl semi finalist Dortmund scoring in the 80th minute seemingly giving Leverkusen their first loss until Leverkusen does it again in the last minute
Aston Villa is on the verge of winning their first trophy of any kind since…*checks notes* 1982. Yes, it’s the Europa Conference, but when West Ham won it last year, they hadn’t had silverware since 1958. Decades upon decades for either team, and now Villa is sitting in Champions League territory for next season. What a tangled web English football weaves.
That Viktoria Plzen knockout run reminds me of when Huddersfield got promoted to the Premier League without winning a game or scoring a goal in all 3 playoff matches. Match 1: 0-0 Match 2 (2nd leg from 1st match): 1-1, the goal was an own goal, won 4-3 on penalties Match 3 (the final): 0-0, won 4-3 on penalties
Adding a info. The pitch Captain (CARRAGHER) takes the ball and delivers to Palmer. Pitch captain is in charge of decisions. If he believes cole palmer shouldn't take he will tell whoever will shoot the penalty and nobody can argue ... miss oldschool captains ... one word and everybody would obey.
Has Luke ever listened to some of the old cup final songs Not exactly sports related, but it could be a fun video! "Go for it, go for it City! Sky Bluuuuueeesss, shooting to win!"

I really don't get why you are so excited about the Viktoria Pilzen run. Ok, the kinda long stretch without any goals is mildly funny, but I think such a run is not really that exceptional at all. It just shows that, in a knockout competition, they prioritise a good an stable defense over their maybe not so great offense. Especialy against a (way) better team than them, like Fiorentina, it is very much expected to play that way. If you don't have a good enough offense to keep pace on the european level it is logical to play strong/hard defense and try to advance in penalties. More or less every underdog team in any knockout competition would play like that. It's almost like you just discovered the concept of the 0-0 draw. Which I don't think is acurate, is it?! So I don't get it. Thanks for the weekly review though! I really like the format!
To luke. Here in south America, in the Copa America 2011, Paraguay reached the FINAL of the tournament, without winning a single match!!!!! So, I understand that the Viktoria Pilzen surprises you because it's the first time you've seen it, but in a couple of seasons, and having so many tournaments and competitions around the world, it's not as unusual as you think.
