After having applied the primer, isn’t the glue also supposed to be applied to BOTH the pipes and the fittings, not just the pipes? Thanks!

No, if glue is applied to both then glue will get into the water line!

Now,.....Most Main Water line is Poly Tubing and CPVC or Pex tubing
