- Fit your own water meter and keep a close eye on your water usage. Especially useful for discovering if you have any water leaks under floors in walls or overflows running etc. With ever increasing utility bills this is another useful device, to help monitor your usage.

Great film as always, very interesting, thank you, regards, Chris.
No problem Chris.
Quick point mate from an electrician.... The earth bond cable there on the left should be on the incoming copper pipe just after the stopcock...
Its purpose of to link the earth connection from your electricity supplier to any other extraneous (ie non electrical) metal coming in. :)
Edit: you've actually made it safer by removing that plastic surestop :)
Thanks for the info.
Nice one. Thank you for sharing.
No problem.
Nice one Al 👍
Thanks PB.
Do you know accurate this meter is? Just wondering if you are fitting it to compare with the water meter fitted by your water supplier, if you have one fitted that is.
I do have a water meter in the path outside. This meter will not be as accurate but still give a good idea of usage without having to go outside and lift the stopcock box lid clean off the lens to read the dial and then get a spider running up my arm.
those filters only kill water pressure and clog over time might think of something else
Ok.
What was the reason for the meter instal Al?
To check if I ever get any more leaks under the void in my house.
i have a watermeter under my sink too one on hot water and one on cold water instaled by my self. Im 7 years old and i know about watermeters i can even make a watermeter by my self
Great. Well done.
We are a retired couple and our water usage has gone from 75 cubic m to 164 cubic m or from £184 to £390 for six months with no change in domestic circumstances. The water company is being totally unhelpful.
Can I install a meter like shown here as proof of our 'actual' consumption?
They won't even entertain the idea that their water meter in the footpath could be faulty.
What do readers suggest. Any help would be welcome.
They are cheap and easy to install, you could then check your meter against theirs.
WRONG! Before you turn off the water, you should fill the kettle. Spot o' milk, no sugar. TYVM. ;-)
Ha ha yes good advice Loafer.
If my other half's mouth was a solar panel i'd never pay for electricity ever again!!! Shocking 🔞🔞🔞🚻🚰
Ha ha good one.
