    Archery was declared Bhutan's national sport in 1971, which was the same year they joined the United Nations. And every village has a field for archery. So it definitely checks out. It also makes sense historically. Bhutan is a very mountainous country, so bow and arrow is a means of survival when you're hunting and battling in war (against Tibetans and the British) in the mountains. They consider it more than just a sport, but a martial art.

      In fairness, putting children (or adults for that matter) in identical outfits is just a terrible idea in general. It normalizes normality, conformism, going along with whatever and not questioning the established order, the thing all your peers are doing; glorifies the act of erasing one's own judgment, ideas, feelings and identity in favor of what one _thinks_ everyone else likes, what one has been _told_ the government or the "great leader" wants... A certain line of baseball hats with a misleading slogan spring to mind.

    I am Northern German/Danish. This is very accurate. If a meal isn't explicitly planned you will starve in the gutter. If you visit and it is not an obvious meal invitation (e.g. 12:30pm or 6-7pm) then you are reasonably expected as an adult to have fed yourself adequately hours earlier. Even my cousin invited me over at 12pm only to boot me out at 1 and say he had lunch reservations (with his gf) thus my cue to bugger off. It is not meant in a miserly way, it is more for health and respect for your own eating cycle. That way you don't over eat or ruin your appetite (your mum may have dinner organised afterwards for example).
    The opposite is true of my Italian aunt (my uncle married an Italian, I'm not Italian). She cooks buckets of food and force feeds me until I am hyperglycaemic.

  • @liamr1064
    @liamr1064 Před rokem +5

    I think the temperature one is mainly to do with mountains. Hence why the UK and places like Belgium and Netherlands didn’t have as high extremes. But also I think large land masses can create extreme colds due to air flows and large masses of cold air. I think it can work the same way for extremes of heat like heat waves as well. Although I’m not an expert I could be talking rubbish. But on average the UK is still pretty cold 😂

    • @fibreoptic8021
      @fibreoptic8021 Před rokem +3

    6:17 It's actually just like saying 'Four Twenty Twelve' Because 80 in french is 'Four Twenty' and 'Twelve' is just saying its 80 + 12
    It's the same thing for the 70s, just a bit less complicated because there's no 4*20 action going on.
    For example 74 is 'Soixante-Quatorze' Soixante meaning 60 and Quatorze meaning 14, 60+14.
    and as for 6:23, in danish, the 90s are said 'halvfems', 'halvfem' meaning 'half to five' aka (5-0.5) and the s meaning to times it by 20.
    For 92, it is said 'tooghalvfems' halvfems meaning (5-0.5)*20 and 'toog', 'to' meaning 'two' and 'og' meaning 'and'.
    With that known, you can see it says 'two and half to five times twenty' aka 2+(5-0.5)*20)
