you mean the sins of others don't justify my own sins!? getting a little close to real morality there... 😋
and if we started to be actually moral in our choice, well we'd have to say that this crazy war is wrong; that our precious infallible philanthropic western governments are maybe not quite as perfect and flawless as the UK establishment tells us they are. and thats just so not British conservative to say that
      😲
now in modern British government ethic works like this🤨; decide upon and action, to hell with the morality of that action, and only after we decided on a course of action do we retrospectively justify it by twisting and misrepresenting facts
if we don't like that facts we'll just get rishi to make up some new facts and pass a law telling everyone that they're the new facts!🤫

It's not a lack of moral compass to be able to distinguish appropriate platform, an award ceremony dedicated to the celebration of the art of film (or any other award ceremony for that matter) is NEVER the appropriate setting. You have a platform, yes; but that doesn't mean it's a platform to make a political statement or condemnation. Regardless of how relevant it is to the reason you won the award, per Glaser's situation. You can absolutely have that platform IF you actually wanted it (ie: news interviews, political interviews, etc.) But an award ceremony, is not that platform.
