Generally Muslims may say Islam is a religion of peace and there is nothing to fear about, and the fear about Islam is baseless. That is why they call islamophobia. But the fact is people are not islamophobic, but they islamo-formidolosus or islamo-formidable. People's fear is genuine, based on real things. I need to correct myself. The term "Islamophobia" actually means having fear that is based upon unfounded truths. In our case here, our fear of the Islamists and its dangerous idealogy is not based on unfounded truths. Instead, it is based upon the truth we see having happened before our eyes that strike fear in the hearts and minds of the western world in our home ground! These are terror acts committed in the western world! Therefore, it can't be categorized as "Islamophobia". It is an act of wisdom and protection against such forces of evil! A lot of engineer/comp sci/IT majors in America are muslim-Americans, koreans, and students from India.
I've worked in IT all up and down the east coast and Muslim Americans are heavily represented in both the private and public sector.
I also happen to be Muslim(just by identity I don't practice, and ironically I attend a Christian church 😂) and majority of my humongous family are in engineering/tech mostly government contract work.
