    As an Asian, I'm used to eating a LOT of rice. Reducing my rice serving to half a plate and filling the other half with proteins; like lentils, chicken, beef, and chickpeas really helped with weight loss. Also, I only drink water and a cup of sugar-free black coffee every day.

      Fellow asian here, I had to eat a bunch of rice and meat for my judo training, along with sleeping 10 hours a day, I'm actually eating more and more now, I'm still growing so I want to eat as much as I can to get bigger and taller, its working so far, but I eat a bowl of rice with meat for every meal, along with oatmeal and eggs, bananas and nuts, and more meat, sometimes I have to just eat beef by itself to get my calories in

    It’s kind of crazy that some of these foods look like a lot to eat, and some not so much. Naturally, it goes to show that everyone’s bodies and energy consumption are different and influences your mind to know just by looks if foods look like a lot or not. I got to keep at it and make smart and consistent decisions on my food choices…

    Thank you Chris for visually showing us! A lot of times we don't think about what we're eating and how much we're eating. So it's a great wake up call.
    My husband would make comments about chocolate and cookies and giving them to kids. He would say the cookies are bigger than their hands or that donut is bigger than their face. It really puts it in perspective! So we use those foods as "treats", not an everyday thing!

    This is great perspective.
    Just wanna give some advice to people wanting to lose weight, please don't start off by instantly changing your diet to chicken and broccoli. Most of the time, a drastic change like this only leads to giving up and failing to be consistent weeks later.
    If you're morbidly obese and unfortunately even bedridden, start by analyzing what you eat and simply removing bits from it. For example, if you eat an upsized McDonald's meal, simply don't upsize it. Pair this with some movement whether it is air punches or hip mobility or even rolling around in your bed.
    If you're obese but can move, do the same thing but perhaps walk just a bit more. Even 5-10 minutes of extra walking is a huge improvement. Similarly, eat something like 1 donut instead of 2.
    If you're just overweight, you can start reducing junk food in general. For example perhaps instead of 2 meals that aren't the best, have 1 junk food meal. If you snack a lot, maybe 1 bag of chips, change that to half a bag. Of course, add in any exercise that is doable and maintainable.
    Lastly, for people that don't have difficulty keeping to a diet, maybe reduce the portion of your carbs, use less sauce, drink less liquid calories, and replace unhealthy food with low calorie vegetables. And as usual, exercise. Preferably not too much anaerobic exercise like sprinting etc as you actually need to oxidize your fat in order to burn it, meaning you need to be able to breathe. So if you would like cardio, steady-state cardio with proper breathing is fine, or you could do bodyweight or go to the gym. Often times, increasing your muscle mass by strengthening your muscles also increases your metabolism, making it easier to hit deficits.
    Hope this helped.

    Hey Chris, I just started my fitness jurney this year and began to research about nutrition. One question I have is: Is it true that ur body can only absorb like 25-30g of protein every 3-4 hours? And wouldnt that be a problem, if ur meal had like 50g of it?

    • @itstabularr
      @itstabularr Před 4 měsíci +1

      its fine, your body will eventually absorb it, it will just take a while. It also depends on the type of protein you eat. And btw 3-4 hours is bs, 30-50 g of protein can be absorbed per hour depending on your metabolism and protein consumed👍

    Bro, there arent 75g of protein in the first meal like wtf, how do you do your maths ...

    • @simonchesney3911
      @simonchesney3911 Před 3 měsíci +2

      8 oz of cooked chicken breast has 70g of protein, and 8 oz of raw chicken breast has 52g of protein. the problem is that he didnt specify whether it was 8 oz before or after cooking. the water weight lost in the cooking process drastically changes the density of protein per oz. I'm guessing he weighed 8 oz before cooking, and that his numbers are wrong

    • @yves-mariebutcher9759
      @yves-mariebutcher9759 Před 3 měsíci

      1) you never count after cooking, always before, same thing for rice pasta etc@@simonchesney3911 and 2) 8 oz of chicken doesnt give 70g of protein hahaha, 100g of chicken gives aoubt 25g of protein, again learn your maths mate

    • @randihigginbotham5070
      @randihigginbotham5070 Před 2 měsíci

      The meat has 65 grams of protein. The rice and broccoli both a cup, each have 4 grams. That’s 73 grams of protein.

    • @simonchesney3911
      @simonchesney3911 Před 2 měsíci

      @@randihigginbotham5070 if you go on cronometer and type in 8 oz of chicken breast, there are multiple options. raw and cooked. raw has extra water so is less calorie dense. 8 oz of raw chicken breast contains ~52g of protein, and 8oz cooked has ~70g of protein, because the water weight is reduced. the video is incorrect

    I’m watching this because my husband and I are planning to start working out and watching what we eat. Eating out can easily ruin anyone’s diet in one seating. On the side note. Your tats are so nice. Idk where you’re at but I would like an idea where you got your chest tat. It’s done so well. Need to know.
