For me, your surroundings does play a huge role if you wanna start this kind of challenge. Reading the comments, I realized I wasn't the only one with this problem. I'm a 94kg 19 year old female and eating sugary foods becomes a bad habit of mine. My family does not maintain a healthy lifestyle which if I were to start eating healthy, they'll be like "Ohh so you wanna eat healthy now huh?" And start teasing me about it. Idk but it's pretty much damaging my mental health and destroying my self esteem. The way I look will always be judged when I meet an old friend or family.. "you've gotten big!" Is what they always say to me😅 this is why I'm not comfortable going out to public places and meeting new people when the people close to me are the one body shaming me :)

    • @talita8882
      @talita8882 Před rokem +25

I relate and feel your pain. The struggle is enormous when the entire family has taught you these bad habits and try to hold you back when you decide to make healthier choices. Btw, I am currently 94kg too, but I am already 37 years old. My heaviest was 107kg, a nightmare.
For the ones that will make harsh comments, I realized they could be blood-related, but they are not family. Family hopes the best for you and helps you. Currently, I have been doing better choices for the one that loves me as family: myself. Best wishes, I hope you are doing great!

Do this, do this for yourself! Diet change and wellbeing is a 100% self motivated endeavour, nobody else can force you and many will hinder. If you're asked "oh so you wanna eat healthy now huh?", your answer only needs to be "Yes, either get on the bus with me or take a different journey!" (you may wish to soften that depending on relationships ;) ) I'm a 57 year old male and back in 2018 realised that having already gone up a trouser size, those were folding over at the belly and so I bought some smart scales. I'm not going to claim a weight problem but overall wasn't good but I was 97kg. What really hit me was that at age 55, my metabolic age reported as 59 and frankly that shocked me.
I took control of my diet, i'm now 57 and my metabolic age reports as 56. I wear a clothes size that I last wore about 30 years ago and have had to change my entire wardrobe. I've had people tell me how good I look at 79kg. I feel great, confident and i'm much happier.
It's up to you, every journey starts with the first step. Do it for you.

This video helped me immensely, one thing I'd like to add that helped me is to food shop online when full! You're less likely to buy snacks when you're full. Also the added reason to shop online is you can plan more and won't be distracted buy snacks as soon as you walk into a store, stores are usually designed to have the crap at the front and the healthier choices further back. If you enjoy going food shopping or can't shop online, make a list prior and do your best to stick to it!

I live with my parents and my mom is all about fast and as little work as possible. She is 76 and has some health issues.
I gave up ice-cream and 99% of dairy last year. But I did not realize how addicted to sugar that I was. I've already made drastic changes but sugar is the next goal.
Its hard because I don't drive and live in a rural area. I can't get my family to even go grocery shopping once a month. Meaning that 95% of my food is delivered through the mail. I can't simply go and buy fresh produce or vegetables. But I am trying

I actually learn English through watching your videos. It's also useful to hack some tips for self-improvement. Dad-gut, onset, sustenance, treat - meal.
    3 take-away that i can stick to:
    1. The average amount of sugar that recommened consumption is 25 gram/day. So i should check the pack about added sugar
    2. The addiction of sugar can really impact the fluctuation of high or low energy in a day. In someway, when we see ourselve crave more sugar, it might reflect our body state needing more sweetness in life.
    3. To make the balance and enjoy in the long run, we don't need to cut out sugar completely from out daily meal if our body has not yet been ready. Treat meal at times is a good idea!

Once I started being in control of my own diet and allowing myself something sweet every day, I stopped binging, I lost weight, and I feel completely in control around sweets, and candy. I quit sugar just because I began to take care of my body after learning the problems of sugar. I did not have a specific goal other than to cut sugar. Let me tell u I lost so much weight and I couldn’t find the reason other than sugar intake.
    Cons:
    -
I lost a lot of weight, as a man thats a downside as I did not intend to lose weight. Approximately 20-25 pounds within this year.
-My libido went down (weak erections)
    -always tired
    Pros:
-I see positive change in my face and my gf notices as well
-Mentally stronger to stay away from sugary drinks, candy, junk food, etc

I used to eat sugar all the time, everyday deserts, snacks, muffins for breakfast. And I realized I was gaining some weight. I would have to work out like crazy to keep the body I wanted, and I didn't have much time to do the things I loved. So I decided to quit sugar as well. For the first two days it wasn't bad, but seeing my family eat all these incredible deserts and foods made me jealous. Then after 2 months, I noticed I felt really good, I was alert and awake, I didn't have to drink coffee in the morning, or go to bed super early to wake up at 6:00. Sometimes you might feel like quitting like oh its just one day. And then that day turns into a week and so on. I found that setting a date that you will have sugar on, for example I have sugar on my birthday once a year. And that gives you something to look forward to, and keeps you in check. Quitting sugar also gets rid of sugar crashes, and has opened up my pallet for all kinds of new foods. It's been a year and a half now, and I feel the best I ever have, running the fastest, play sports the best, so just try it, I promise you'll feel so much better.

I quit sugar for 90 days straight, back in 2017. This was the time I also started working out regularly. The only sweet I used to eat during this period was in the form of fruits. It was really difficult for the first two weeks because I was so fond of sweets. But then, that feeling gradually faded away and I never really felt the urge of eating a sweet even if it was kept in front of me. The benefits were so many. I felt so light and nimble. I felt my digestive system became more robust. I was less irritable (part of it also because of working out regularly). Most importantly, I felt in control of myself. Eventually, I started using natural sweeteners like jaggery and raw honey and have completely eliminated sugar in any form from my life. Couldn't be happier by this decision. I think everyone should give it a try and see the benefits themselves.

I myself really want to commit to not consuming sugar, I’m currently 15 and am 192 pounds at a height of 5’4, I remember being 120 when I was 12, so within three years I gained 70 pounds, and I can contribute this to my family (mostly my siblings) who literally buy junk food and my mom and father who do the same- They also aren’t very active and are in denial about being extremely unhealthy, my mother and I recently started taking walks but that’s not enough for my health tbh, I want a life style change,

My goal weight is 111 pounds or 120, and I’m hoping to reach that goal by next year,

@@mgam4963 hey good luck man I can understand that you gained weight in the last 3 years due to corona and shit which basicly happened to me I couldn't go to the gym I had to stay home cuz of lockdowns and stuff and I had eating cravings all of the time cuz of boredom. I believe you can do it man stay away from sugar yeah and eat oats which fill you up give you energy throughout the day and are super healthy aswell

@@Duthum What really contributed to me staying at 180 pounds was the holidays this year, all it took was going to my one of my family member’s house twice (once for christmas, second for new years) and I put on 20 pounds shortly after😀 I feel like once I get to my goal weight, I’ll probably make it a habit to lose 15 or 20 pounds before the holidays just so I won’t have to repeat this cycle anymore

Who needs snacks when you are the SNACC
Edit: I said you'd be getting that 1 mil plaque within the month, looks like that'll be coming true!

{Delete this} there are healthy carbs, but it still turns to sugar in the body. thats why hes still craving sugar.

it’s so hard to stop eating sugar because my family is the same. they’re not as bad as me but if they buy something sweet i gravitate towards it. also i’m super picky about what i eat and don’t like many food (which might be because i’m so addicted to sugar) which unmotivates me because what else am i supposed to eat? i’ll figure it out. first step, only eat one piece of chocolate/sweets a day? 😭😭
also i love love love coke and always crave it so maybe i’ll limit myself to one glass a day again. might update on how i’m doing xxx
