► Robbie Maddison's 5 greatest stunts: www.redbull.com/us-en/robbie-...
Arc de Triomphe jump at the Paris casino in Las Vegas was a unique stunt. Almost all motorcycle-based stunts are distance jumps, usually jumping over something or a variety of things (oftentimes cars, in the Knievel days). But rarely is it jumping off of something. Robbie launched a huge jump on to the top of the Arc (modeled after the real one in France) at the Paris Casino in Sin City, but that was the easy part. He then turned around and jumped off, dropping about 10 stories and almost overshooting the landing completely. Luckily, he saved it, because that one would not have felt too good. He later said, ""I don't care if you offered me $10 million, I wouldn't do it again.""

This is still one of the most impressive things I have ever seen, the jump up is insane. Both ends.
Yep,,, you are correct.
yeah that landing was made so poorly
@@seth5394 do it better than
@@seth5394 Measuring...Seth's "manhood," a solid 2 inches.
That head shake while looking down says it all, this is nightmare level stuff. I truly think this is one of the craziest things to ever happen in extreme sports. Gawd
After years of watching this it doesn’t ever get any less impressive
Same here! This is crazy!
I would pass out just looking over the edge of that building
I would pass out watching it from the ground up lol
Or whiskey throttle to oblivion.
lmaoo
Yes that actually looked more dangerous than the rest
No doubt. Huge leap of faith
That is still, ten years on the most insane stunt I have ever seen! Robbie is a war machine!
I remember this live and it's impossible to appreciate how bad the compression was at the bottom, the ramp for drop off was way too steep and you can see he was right on the edge of swapping out. In the interview he showed his wrist was injured from the impact, the skin literally just ripped and split across the top. This is a long way from the gas it and go for it whiskey throttle days of Evil Knievel.
DrAL00isin he over shot the landing lol
I remember watching live as well and, totally agree with you.
Totally nuts.....
People always under appreciate Evil because they forget he did his stunts on a 1200 lb bike
Ya , I wasn't there but that was a harsh landing its unbelievable he was able to hold on . Its probably hard to understand unless you ride but that landing is the most impressive thing I've ever seen a person do on a bike , a couple more feet I'm not sure if that would of went so well . What a impact guy has a super human set of hands and wrists .
jesus i never noticed how he almost landed flat
Didn't he break something on the landing or am I making that up...
@@willg7344 Yeah i think his hand
Yeah he got too pumped up at the top and gassed it a little bit too much.
@@willg7344 broke and bleeding. 13 years later and still Nobody attempts to challenge this record-setting jump! I could not imagine driving off the top of a building.
@@HypnoToad248 With most heavy terrain challenges people don't understand it's all about going straight. Heavy downhill air is not too bad as long as you don't bottom out. THIS was so far past all that!! And you can see the bike bottom out because he went too far away from the ramps transition.!I believe rider said he'd never do THAT agin!!
I saw this live in Vegas, it was amazing to watch. A memory i will carry forever.
The fact that he was going so close to the edge after he made it up was making me more nervous then the stunt itself... jesus christ
When he was born, the doctor said
“It’s a man”
😂
I was 6 when I watched this and I still think about it. Absolute legend
I watched this live and was speechless. Rip and thank you for everything.
Damn, when he jumped back down, that was so sketchy! And yeah, he ripped the shit out of his hand on that, too.
I remember watching this live, still unbelievable.
I remember watching this live from my friends house. Can't believe it's been so many years now! Still an incredible stunt.
Legends do walk among us.
Harrison Filler I was just thinking about it. Crazy its been 10 years ago. I remember it like it was yesterday
@@redbull When the Red Bull is sus! 😳
i don't know how he could do it, i was scared and nervous only by watching it
Oh.. I don't know.. Being a professional daredevil with a career of such extreme sports? And also being paid $2 million for this stunt?
Not to mention him winning numerous awards for doing such types of stunt including the award for "Best stunts done by a vehicle" and doing 10 backflips on a bike
FatSongProduction Don't be so sure. He said he wouldn't do it again for $10 million.
FatSongProduction You've seriously missed the point.
Failure is Death, this is no backflip where you might break your back!
$2 Million, pfft, great when you are dead. I seriously doubt he was thinking of the money when he jumped off! Ask Maddison personally, he will tell you it was his dream to do these stunts, he didn't start doing it for money.
No ones life is worth losing for money or others entertainment.
FatSongProduction they gamble their life, we all know that...if i was confident in my ability i'd probably do same for that money
BOTH the jump up and the jump down were absolutely insane. MANY people died trying similar stuff. He is an unbelievable man, NO FEAR. Respect!
they said that when he jumped from the top to the bottom, he landed so far down the landing ramp, the impact literally broke the bike in Half, you can hear how the engine of it was totally stuck and reving after he landed.....
Rides a motorcycle but probably walks around with a wheelbarrow to carry his nuts...
Best reply ever! I've never seen anyone jump OFF of a building and live to tell about it.
He had to lose some weight so he could make these jumps
A wheel barrow I think you mean an articulated lorry
Tweegyblink that’s smooth
They would fit in a child's hand.
This takes NO BALLS AT ALL TO DO if you've ever been on a motorcycle.
After watching for 15 years. It still feels unreal
I haven't seen this clip in 10 years, always had it in the back of my head but I never searched it until now. Awesome!
Glad you finally watched it Zack! 🙌
How could somebody dislikes this ? Smh that was awesome I watch it a million times
Good question. I think it's people who can't or don't ride!
People that like cat's videos.
For those who ride bikes know this man on an elite level .my respects to this man
This is one of the most impressive stunts that i have every seen in my life. I didn't know that he had to go down too! Holy buckets.
The jump up was easy in comparison to the guts and skill it took to go down
14 years later and still in aw! That was crazy and still is!)
insane. Now I've recognized that the crazy motorcycle guy in the Simpsons is him.
Seriously I can almost not get trough this video..... My hands are sweating! This is insane!
Almost destroyed himself on that drop. Way overshot, he probably knew immediately he gave it juuust a hair too much throttle. That being said, this feat is insane, still to this day we've never seen anything like it. The ski jump was badass too but this was far riskier.
Pretty secure in saying that this will never be bested!
You never know, people thought the same thing about Evel Knievel
I wonder how he got up there with his balls weighing a ton each... dang
His balls already weighted 10 Tons before making the jump😎😌🤘🙌
This guy has no fear. How he could ride a bike off the monument and free fall like that. He's unreal.
no words can say how brave this guy is and how skilled and talented he is at his chosen sport. Legend God may you keep him safe a hero and a great role model ( check his 4 year old son riding his bike into a pool hilarious:D
little insigniicant, not a man! moT
I get chills to this day watching This. Greatness.
The most impressive thing is that even 15 years later, the video quality looks good. We’ve finally made it as a species.
I love how on the way up he just drops it on the deck of the tower like he's dropping it out of the back of a truck. So smooth.
Robbie is the Greatest
Didn't think it was that amazing watching this video awhile back....but right now I'm looking at arch from my room on the 17th floor at the paris hotel.. WOW!!!! very impressive..
Respect to Evel Knievel, but this is the sickest thing I've ever seen anyone do on a motorcycle before or since.
Think I saw a video of Robbie practicing this he build a replica ion his ranch and jumped up little by little higher n higher. Was badass
pfft...
I do this everyday in Grand Theft Auto
Thats NOT real Life DUMBO DUMBO BELLY JUMBO

Redbull has officially made the world a cooler place with stunts like this!!!
This guy is nutz
Omg amazing x
He took a really hard hit on that landing.. I'm very happy he lived and is relatively ok. He has nerves of steel riding around the edge of the roof, let alone jumping off it!
Hehe he did break his hand on this one.
Robbie Knievel Ain't Go Nothing On This Cat... Balls Craziness YOUR INSANE But what A Show
A lot of people dont know the handle bar ripped his hand open on the landing coming back down. That shit looked painful it was a huge gash!

I can not count how may times I have seen this and I still loos my breath a few time every time I watch it.
I remember watching this live as a kid. Can’t believe it’s been 10 years.
still one of the best things I've ever seen
nbigham123 No one should try this without the motorcycle being prepared exactly perfect. That is the key. The engine is built by someone really, really good. The piston has properly been lapped to the valve guides so that the rings do not stick to the cam chain. The clearance is very important in this step. If you get the gap in that lap too big slippage will occur between the pump and the ring gear which would throw everything off once you leave the ramp. If that gap is wrong there is no use worrying about the chassis. The chassis was prepared way in advance anyway so that the bike could perform a jump to remember. Every single component was bent and reshaped until the right cantelever was achieved in each part, especially where the shocks attach. And the fork is an entirely different matter where a specialist is required to dial the spokes into "true" tune between the hub and ratio of each gear. The drive train is crucial. Without the correct manufacturers recommended grease paste pressed into the embedded cross frame, that machine is not sailing anywhere in a head wind. If there is too much head win it is best to take off in first gear only, use the clutch to shift quickly though the gears after the take off once the ramp is cleared. Do not look down while flying. Concentrate on the duty to control the throttle during the flight. Too much torque can veer you sideways and too crooked to land. If your take off is short you might not make it. The landing might cause pain. To avoid too much pain you must tumble on top of the air for as long as possible resisting the urge to catch yourself on top of the motorcycle. Remember that motorcycles are very cheap compared to the ambulance and hospital. Most surgeons hate motorcycle jumpers anyway so do not make mistakes that require their practice. Let those MD professionals practice on somebody else. This is the reason foremost to follow these preparation steps to the letter. If for any reason that you do not think the bike is balanced at the Apex of the perimeter of both axles than DO NOT MAKE THE JUMP! It may not end pretty. Beware and be careful and safe at all cost. In fact it is best just to forget it and watch someone else.
Nucking Futs!!! But I'll give him his props.
Evil Kanevel would have shit himself doing that....THAT WAS INSANE! I bet evil was saying damn son from heaven :-)
August Janke naw. Evel would have done a ton more if he had the bikes of today. He was limited by weight, speed and lack of suspension.
@@flintrock8433 Evel also did not have or used technology (computers, simulating software, etc...) to planning is jumps. Evel did it all with pencil, paper, his brain and instincts.
I still come back to this video.
This was when Red Bull was making a statement and showing they’re the pinnacle of professional sports man Mx, flying, quads, jet skis the whole nine years rock climbing parachuting the list goes on and on I’m
Glad I was able to be a part of it
A little older than this one, but do you remember when Mike Escamillia did a backflip over a helicopter that had its rotors running? I remember seeing it in a magazine in the late 90's and felt it was "almost" on the same level as this. I've tried finding footage or pictures but cant seem to. That was an absolutely crazy time for extreme sports.
@@bushleague3472 yes I do know what you’re talking about! Back when Mx was at its peak where everyone was wanting to see the next big thing!!!
@@ghostyboy9469 Yeah, the helicopter flip was on a BMX, which is almost makes it seem more crazy. The funny thing, I saw a recent interview with Mike on the crazyest things ever done on a BMX, and that didnt even make his list. Apparently because he was able to work up to it, he didnt feel it was that big of a deal.
@@bushleague3472 ohh I thought you were talking about the one where they sent a dirt bike over a couple helicopters
I don’t think I’ve seen the one on a bicycle??? I’ll have too look into that now you’ve peaked my interest lol
I was there. Was spectacular 🎆🏍🎰🎲💕🎼Such confidence & skill!
i can do that, hold my beer.
He claimed he would never do it again not even for $1 000 000
QuinnyPigOmega He got $2 000 000 paid for this stunt and said he wouldn't do it again for $10 000 000.
Parabéns para REDBULL e Robbie Maddison's, foi a melhor apresentação já vista pelo Homem .
Going up is one thing , going down is insane
I’m scared to drop in a bowl on a skateboard 😂
that landing is sketchy af
His girlfriend was looking at the ramp and him at the same time lol!!
I feel bad for laughing, but i couldnt not notice. She's like a rick and morty npc
She wanted to be a teacher but she couldn't control her pupils!

1) While this was the comment I was looking for it was written in a far wittier way. Well done! 😁
2) I see I am not the only one to get this video in my recommended feed this week.
He could have easily died and on the way back down it was very, very close to catastrophy. Thank god he stayed on and corrected on the ramp. That would have been a bad video otherwise...
Props to whoever built the ramp, I thought he was gonna go straight through almost flat zoning it like that on way back down. That sound when he hit makes my back hurt.
Seems like yesterday..I watched it live...totally awesome
I fell out of bed watching this :D
He almost didn't stick that last drop. I remember this happening but never saw it in a whole. Ridiculousness brought me here.

Ok, what's with the googly eyed chick? Is she looking at the camera or up at the rider?
You're a dumbass.
Sorry about your eyes Ethline. I assume you're talking to me? I can't tell who you're looking at. Lol
