- You NEED a bed step for your truck! I am installing this AMP Research BedStep. It has hundreds of positive reviews and I want to see what it is all about. In this video, I go through a full install, review, and then talk about my usage of it for the past few weeks. This has made accessing my truck bed SO MUCH BETTER!
This install is on my 2018 Ford F150 5.0 V8. It will be the same for model years 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020.

Seems like a better solution than bolt-on ladders that attach to the tail gate of the pickup. Newer models of pickup trucks have ladders built into the tail gate; there's no after market mod that I am aware of that could add a similar ladder to an older pickup.
Yea, I agree that it is better than the ones that attach to the tail gate. My last F150 had one built in and I used it pretty often. This was a good solution for one that doesn't have it. I don't know of any similar ladder for an older pickup. Luckily they are typically shorter than the new trucks.

That's really nice brother. I was initially concerned about the decrease in departure angles, but since it tucks up underneath I guess that's a moot point. I like it, if my truck wasn't about to be replaced I'd certainly put one on.

I was expecting something like $1000 when I read your comment. I wouldn't expect it to be less than $400. Right now, it's listing for $329. As far as I'm concerned, that's a very reasonable price.
@@curtisreynolds7375 I was expecting it to be around $50 to $60. But, if you're putting it on a $55,000 pickup, I guess it's reasonable.

Just put one my truck a couple weeks ago and so far so good. Do wish the metal bracket went under the plastic step more - the way it mounts seems a bit flimsy to me, only time will tell.
I do feel the same. Having that metal bracket extend further over the plastic step would have definitely given it a better feel when you step on it.
Question…were the bolts to the step still not torqued down when you attach it to bumper bolts? I just ordered one! I’m hate trying to jump up in my f150..getting old as well! Ha ha! Thanks for your help!
Yea they weren’t. If I remember correctly I got everything attached and then torqued after. Had to make sure everything lined up first. Getting old is tough! Lol
How is it stepping down out of the bed?

The price for this is way too high for what you get.
I honestly that that before I bought it. After living with it for a few months, I'm really happy with the quality of it. It's held up really well to me + barrels as well as dealt with the mud around here in the spring time. After owning it, I'd personally say it is worth the money.
stupid expensive, can buy ladders for 1/4 the price.
And I bet they charge over $100 for something that costs $20 to build.
Try over $300. They make cheaper Chinese ones though, but doubt they last.
