One of Lynn's favorites...Hand-And-A-Half Sword. @d-a-half-sword/ Enter for a drawing at the end of April for a full set of Razor Tek Knives. www.coldsteel.com/razor-tek-5...
I own this sword for several years and in general I like it very much. Although it does not have a distal taper, it is still well balanced. With a weight of approx. 1.3kg it is a very fast sword that is easy to handel. The sword is very sharp, the handle is comfortable and fits well in the hand. It behaves well in cutting tests. However, the leather of the grip and the scabbard is very thin and damage after some time, here there is room for some improvement. Another (small) problem is that the pommel is screwed and not pinned. The advantage is that you can disassemble this sword into its individual parts, which simplifies maintenance. The disadvantage is that the pommel nut loosens after some time due to vibrations. This causes the crossguard to start to wobble. However, this problem can be solved with a drop of screw lock without much effort. From a scale of 1-10, I would give this sword a solid 7. It‘s a quite fair price/performance ratio. The Crossguard could also be a little bigger, but that's a matter of taste.
I've been a Cold Steel fan since the late 80's when bought a tanto, urban skinner and a shinobu tanto. Those 3 knives were stolen but I have since built a sizable collection. Love these blades
These are made in India out of the finest old car bumpers and lamps you can find. They possess little lineage to the old Cold Steel of the 80’s & 90’s which produced at least decent knives.
@John Jacob That's not the problem. The problem is that they use garbage steel to make their blades. I pay no attention to the troons as they are irrelevant (clearly not to you, though. ya friggin horndog)
There ir nothing more beautifull than a collection of coldsteel swords and axes. I'm from Argentina, and I fell in love of coldsteels knives since my first Gurka Kukri.
Excellent blades! I have two of these beauties, your craftsmanship and professionalism are here in Romania at thounsands of miles away. I wish this sword and I will definitely have it! Thx Thx
When I started collecting knives and swords I knew I wanted a good katana I looked at hundreds, then I stumbled upon cold steel katanas and the reviews were nothing but praise so I picked one up, 5 year’s later and a ton of cutting it’s still like new!
Love Cold steel. Bought my first in 1987. A San Mai Master Tanto, together with several ParaEdge's and SuperEdge's and one of the original Voyager large Tanto's. Love em all still going strong 💪😊
My brother just gifted me the hand and a half sword. I have had a fascination with the Medieval since I was a youth and have always wanted to own a sword. I couldn't have asked for a better fit than this!
I used to possess the 88HNH ( Hand and a Half Sword ), It's a really good blade for the money if you get it from other sources like Kult of Athena or any other Cold Steel dealer. The stabby part stabs, the cutting parts cut, the scabbard is adequate, sword ran fine on a 45 degree angle hang from the web gear. The only issue it had was that it's construction wasn't exactly completed, the blade was mounted onto a thread and nut construction on the pommel, and the torque going through the sword into the tang eventually stripped the threads and made the pommel free swivel a full 360 degrees. The nut did it's job in keeping the pommel from free flying off the blade, but eventually I had to take the pommel apart, paint the threaded tang section with a heavy coat of loc-tite, reassemble and let cure for 24 hours. After that, the sword ran fine again with no new signs of malfunction. I'd give it an 8/10, decent buy.
As for how my sword went missing, I had left it as a keepsake for my father when I left the state. He had went to settle some errands and business for a few days, and during that time frame some family visited the household and had taken it as well an old Browning Auto 5 12 gauge shotgun.
I just bought one of these and it is incredible! I have cut through so muck cardboard and a few tatami mats. It is balanced right, solid and beautiful.
I'm still surprised at my folding kiri ashi in 4034 steel. You guys are awesome. I've had it since it first dropped. And haven't had to sharpen it yet. Just a little stropping and done
Lynn Thompson is a LEGEND! He make awesome knives and swords and even attended the Dog Brothers gathering which puts him way above and beyond any cutlery maker! Beyond tough!
I have several failed cold steel knives AD10 Rajah-ll and srk in sk5.. Issues with lock blade play and loose handle.. Sent my Rajah-ll to customer service and they have had it for almost 2 years.. Ridiculous.. And they tried to compensate me with the Rajah-lll3.. A 64$ knife.. So disappointing.
I have this sword and its the most badass thing I own. Cuts nice and I'm confident it will take off whatever it hits. Love this Bad boy. Feels awesome I'm your hands because you know its deadly .
owing one of these myself, they simply made an understatement in the advertisement, they are rugged and can be sharpened to a degree i simply can describe as scary, damn scary.
As a lifelong CS Fan will pass on this contest. Awesome prize etc but firm believer in Knives for defense now! Happy to state publicly that have equiped Wife & G/kids w/both a Fixed blade & folder. After watching many videos & practice time they are all REal Handy w/them also. During my GI Day's trusted only one Knife the CS USA Recon Tanto. Aquired a nylon sheath w/xtra pocket for it. Carry a handbuilt Japenese Tanto folder in that pocket. My personal goal someday is the double edge ring fixed blade Uall sell. Doubtful that will hapeen since w/7 gkids need;s never end 4 them. ;)
I became a fan of cold steel at a very young age, thanks to my father. The first blade (and so far, unfortunately, the only sword) I personally purchased for myself was the heavy duty sword cane, and I love it. I recently aquired the drop forged boot knife, and it never leaves my side. Grateful for the quality work that cold steel does.
Keep up the great work. I have A Grosse Messer, love my great sword as well. I have handled & cut with the Italian long sword, all pretty good models 👍⚔🤠🐎
Cold steel knives are better than any other that I have had before. Bought the sr1 lite and finn wolf because of the tri ad lock and because previous knife locks have folded on my fingers doing simple and easy tasks. Blades are extremely sharp and made well. I also own the gi tanto and leatherneck tanto along with the cold steel grik awesome knives
I have carried a cold steel AK47 model for decades now. I collect knifes and this is the best knife I own for daily use and carry. It has a thumb stud on it that drags the pocket instantly opening it when you take it out of your pocket. The fastest knife ever. Even faster than a fixed blade
I am ashamed that I don’t own a cold steel yet. I usually go for 3.5” or under, thin slicer blades. But I want a Cold Steel beast of a knife! Lynn Thompson is such a cool dude, I love his passion.
Love yall at Cold steel unfortunately most of your stuff I want is not in my price range! Awesome Products from Swords to bats an more I'm in for sure yall are awesome!
Liked, subscribed, tweeted and already entered email. Hand and a half is one of my favorite weapons. You can laugh. Weapon I normally chose in gaming when I was younger.
My Hand a Half Sword comes tomorrow. I'm outrageously excited. I have the Messer, and it's incredible, but wanted the HnH for about 10 years. Can't wait.
Lynn Thompson has always been One of the most trustworthy men in the knife industry if he says it’s good it’s good!
The man makes some good knives
Never had an issue with their knives
weird you have two comments in a week. But I agree that their products will do what advertised.
LMFAO smh ok

Cold is steel is a good entry level brand, but their swords have quality problems

for me, this is the most classic sword of all. and classics never get boring! 👊👍
Cold steels what got me into knives and still years later are some of the best cutting instruments I’ve laid my hands on thanks Lynn!
Lynn knows how to makes some knives
Sure does!
There ir nothing more beautifull than a collection of coldsteel swords and axes. I'm from Argentina, and I fell in love of coldsteels knives since my first Gurka Kukri.

My brother just gifted me the hand and a half sword. I have had a fascination with the Medieval since I was a youth and have always wanted to own a sword. I couldn't have asked for a better fit than this!

Me too!

I just bought one of these and it is incredible! I have cut through so muck cardboard and a few tatami mats. It is balanced right, solid and beautiful.
Been a cold steel fan since I was 12. Their swords are what caught my eye and I carry the holdout series daily in a kilt.
These knives have never let me down.
I've had my eye on this sword for several years - and the matching dagger!
I love ColdSteel, been saving up for a Gurkha Kukri in 3v... Those knives in this video look cool, wouldn't mind having them in my collection.
