If we assume you have to sustain a (physical & emotional) connection with the other one you swapped bodies for at least a minute to reverse the effects [as seen with bunny!shy & mare!Angel switching back]; then if Zecora DID NOT reversed the effects after bodyswapping with a long_lived creature (like a dragon, for example) & then turned her old body into stone (with the help of a cockatrice), trapping the ex-dragon...
-> Yeah, she COULD still be "out there", hiding from Opaline all of this years.

people have said and I think actually many CZcams’s have said that , the voice actress of twilight is not a reliable source if that makes sense. she doesn’t know anything about g5 so I doubt it. hopefully she does comeback tho

hmm... i know im a bit late but what if twilight sparkle was a villian and wants to get revenge on opaline since i read somewhere that twilight sparkle got killed by opaline which i find it not true i hope she comes back not as an alicorn but a wise unicorn who knows whats happening around her.

The writers of MLP have done a far better job of storytelling that you all have given credit--re-watch the G4 series and pay closer attention to the dialog and certain episodes that contribute to a greater storyline--the writers have already told you what happens after the close of G4
