I love visiting Edinburgh in October. Walking around Greyfriars Cemetery in the Autumn is a wonderful thing to do 🍁🍂. I also like to do the spooky ghost tours at Halloween.
I was last in Edinburgh October/November 2019. I got engaged in Oban on that trip! We loved the lack of cheesy Halloween decor in Edinburgh unlike American cities! It was just subtly spooky, very Harry Potter-esque. We loved it and even found some pubs already serving mulled wine. 😋
Hi Kat, this was so beautifully produced, you guys are so talented. Keep up the great work. Best wishes, David 🙂
I loved Edinburgh in October! The colors, as you said, were beautiful! And all the fall flavored treats were incredible. I was at Mimi’s every week for their incredible Pumpkin Spice Latte.
And I did Edinburgh Cocktail Week! That was a nice surprise.
Samhain - something I was not aware of and you just introduced to me... thank you! After watching your vid, I looked it up and shared the info with a few of my fellow Canadian friends of Scottish and Irish decent. Thanks for the great October scenes and information!
My last trip to Edinburgh in 2019 was October. (Previous was September) I think I preferred September as I found October to be cold and rainy and a lot was closed or less available. I think traveling on the shoulder season was far more fun. That being said. I love Edinburgh and I would travel there any time of the year if I could. As always thank you for making me feel like I am not that far from my favourite city. I appreciate it.
I get pathetically excited when I see you have a new video :-) And yes, it was an unusually wet October. It's like God was punishing us for actually having a bit of a Summer this year.
Aaaawww this is the sweetest comment!
Edinburgh looks great in the fall. Can’t be any colder than here although I suspect windier. I would love to go in October or November and catch a wee bit of the Christmas festivities before it gets too crowded.
What do you all think we should do next month? :)
Whatever you would like! I personally would be happy to see maybe another food tasting video, you guys did some really cute and funny ones in the past. Cooking?
Post a video on the Guy Fawkes celebrations!
I'm gonna be there this October for a congress. I don't like rainy so much, but it seems the weather will be pretty similar to my home town in winter. An Umbrella is needed, hahaha. Any extra tips for the trip?
I’ve married in Edinburgh in October three years ago. And Mimi‘s made our splendid gluten free wedding cake btw. 🥰 I’m dying to get over again, missing Scotland so bad. 😢
Hope you’ll be able to soon, especially if it’s such a special place for you ✨
I'm surprised your leaves fell off before hours (up north on the Moray coast). Our leaves are just now getting peak color.
We still do have areas where the leaves are holding on! Seems like the botanics are peaking now, but the city centre, especially around Princes gardens, is really getting quite wintery looking, I guess these spots don’t have much cover from wind!
Thank you! Please do Edinburgh in September :-)
Will do! .)
Hi! What’s the name of the bakery/cafe with the fall themed macarons / desserts in the highlight reel?😊
How much heavy clothes should I bring
Samhuinn Fire Festival was ticketed to keep the numbers down this year. It was still free but you had to book your place. Generally the crowds can get up to 7000 people so to avoid that this year it was managed for Covid. Fingers crossed that Beltane Fire Festival on Carlton Hill next year will be completely open and things will be more normal for everyone.
Also, wind and rain is pretty common in October lol It's been really mild this year for some reason.
Oooh did you attend the Samhuinn event this year? To be honest after the two years of social distancing I can't even imagine 7000 people fitting onto Calton hill haha!
@@Kakibot No I stayed home this year, I wasn't ready for the crowds. We had 7000 on the Mile one year. It was so packed. Beltane on the Hill has hit10 000. Not sure if I can do crowds right away out of the last two years either. lol. I've participated in the Event a few times as a Photographer. It's a great event to get involved in.
Not been two Edinburgh..yet. But, planning to in Mid April…fingers 🤞 crossed.. going to stay in a hostel for the first time too such should be…interesting 🤔 and coming from East Texas.. we don’t do hostels here
I’ve heard good things about some of the local hostels so I’m sure it will be a good base! Are you planning to be in a shared room?
@@Kakibot probs a 12 bunk room.. spending most of my budget on buisness class…first time. (Economy travel is hell Lol.. )
don’t hink I need fancy hotel 🏨 though as I will be out and about exploring all all day.. thanx 4 the reply
