    Was in Edinburgh during end of November (twice) and I absolutely loved it! Wasn't very cold during the day but truly freezing as soon as the sun went down.

    Hi Kat, hope you’re both well. Another fabulous video. Despite being born here, I too struggle with the lack of light in the winter. People often think it’s the cold and bad weather that’s difficult, but it really is the long, dark evenings & nights, but we’ll get through it 😀 We just have to distract ourselves making videos! I’ve ordered Xmas cards and the puffling badge from your store which I’m really looking forward to receiving. They look great. Can’t wait to see all your festive videos, the time, effort and quality you put into them all is amazing. All the best, David

      Thank you David! And an extra thank you for your order .) hope the parcel made its way to you already, although with the pre-Christmas rush it might still be sitting somewhere in a Royal Mail warehouse x)

      @@Kakibot Hi Kat, it arrived really quickly and I absolutely love the badge and cards. You’re so talented. Hope you and Simon are having a good week. You’re such a lovely couple. Can’t wait for your next video. All the best, David

    Yes, taking multivitamins help during short daylight periods… Parts of USA experience same short daylight as well and multivitamins always helped me. Give it a try 🤗 Great helpful video again. Always enjoy your channel 🎄

    Thanks for another lovely video about Edinburgh! If you ever design your own poppy pin for your Etsy shop, I’d definitely buy that! It’s hard for us in the US to get a nice poppy pin for Remembrance Day (we call it Veterans Day), and we also have Memorial Day so we have two opportunities to wear poppies. :D

    I'm visiting end of November! I'm so excited since this is my first time visit and i cannot wait to go to all the bookstores and romanticise life in a bookish city! If i believe all the pictures I've seen, this city is like stepping into a dark academia book 😍😍

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  Před rokem +3

      You're gonna have a great time! Edinburgh really is one of the best spots to step into that kind of dark academia fantasy .)

      I’m also visiting in the end of November, it’s ALSO going to be my first time there. I’m so super excited! I want to go to uni in Edinburgh, so I hope I just fall more and more in love with the city by visiting.

    The latitude is quite astounding. I'm from what's generally considered "Northern" Canada. For people familiar with Vancouver, think 1hour East and 8 hours North by car. It gets to -40° C in the winter, dark early etc... The North! And it's like 2° on the map more to the South than Edinburgh. Blew my mind when I found out. Same thing with a co-worker who came from Belfast, then moved to Edmonton. Belfast is more Northern than Edmonton...

    I loved how the music at the Christmas Market section. Sums them up really....as you say very expensive and could be more Christmasy. Funny my son was asking why Saint Andrew is our patron Saint? Apparently one of his bones was brought over here a long meny a year ago? Also he is the patron of Greece.

    I’ve not been to Edinburgh for Christmas but I did live in Germany 1988/1990 so I did go to the German Kristkindlmarkt. The one in Nürenburg Is incredible

    I remember when it snowed, on that day I decided to go out of my house for some fresh air, I thought the world has ended. EVERYTHING was white so I screamed a little when I walked outside. It was the first time in my life seeing and walking on snow cuz where I'm from the temperature never goes below 30 degrees, man I really just wanna touch snow all day its so cool

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  Před 2 lety +2

      That's amazing! Thanks for sharing your experience! I have a friend who saw his first snow in Prague when he came over for his studies and once it started falling he just excused himself to "go to the bathroom" and instead just wandered out into the street to enjoy the snowy glory! .D

    I’m going to start a restaurant and I’m going to call it EdinBurger and serve hamburgers made with haggis 🤩

    I didn't realise it gets dark that early this time of year. Waaaaay back I spent a lot of time up in Newcastle on semi regular family visits, but I don't remember it getting dark that early. Even for someone like myself who likes the atmosphere of rainy days, I could see that grating after a while. All the same, Edinburgh still seems a beautiful city and place to be :).

    • @Kakibot
      @Kakibot  Před 2 lety +1

      It really depends - at least nowadays people tend to be a bit more flexible about their work time, or when they take a lunch break, so there's a better chance one actually witnesses some daylight before it's too late! I remember in the uni days I found this extremely frustrating, coming to school for 6 hours or so and those being exactly the 6 hours of daylight in Scotland .D aaa

    Wow, how depressing...we live in Canada and are used to night coming early so our visit wont be ruined by that. I was hoping for some great ideas not this?

      I wouldn't call November depressing in Edinburgh, much like any journey if you plan well you'll have fun, and the city won't yet be swamped by Christmas tourists

      Edinburgh is lit with lights and bustling 24/7 despite the early dark days, it is a PACKED city with endless things to do and discover... you'll be alright
