There is easy formula for learning even the most difficult songs.
Look over my shoulder in this tutorial as I use my formula to learn the great song, MOVEMENT by Hozier. I'll teach you how!
To be clear, this is not the type of song I usually sing which is why I took it on.
Watch as I breakdown exactly what you can do to learn songs that you may not think you can sing!
If you're a singer I know you'll benefit by leaning my formula and I Know you'll surprise yourself with what you can sing!
    Enjoy!
    Mike

I’ve never seen anyone learn a song that way. Great video! I also think songs sounds better when singers cover songs in their own voice instead of trying to make it sound like the original.
You can feel the sincerity in their voice when it’s their own.

Awesome breakdown, thank you! I only sing for myself in the car but it’s always disappointing to run out of steam halfway through. I barely know the sound of my own voice because I’ve always tried to mimic the artist. Your (literal) pro tips in videos like this are helping me figure it out, which is awesome, because who cares if I sound like Hozier if I can actually sing Take Me to Church?! It’s so much more fun that way. So thanks again!

@iamblazerazgriz1 You're welcome and thanks for watching! I used to do the same thing...imitated everyone! haha (and not very good!)

The part where if you go to low and try to get back up really resonated with me. When i'm a singing mood some songs higher notes (if i can even do them) are kinda reachable in the first go, but when coming down sometimes i end up getting to low without understanding and when it's time to go back up the voice just cracks.
ps: 30min in my opinion it's not to long at all, but i'm not a zoomer :D

@4GoodFever *Hey, thanks a ton for your comment!* I get it about going back up. If we go back up to the higher notes without allowing the resonance to transfer from the throat to the mouth and we don't know how to pass off the balance between the TA and CT muscles of the vocal cords we will pull too much weight and crack. Beautifully done Mike. To be vulnerable and show your process and not try to pretend to be the artist etc.. is a very rare and beautiful thing. You’re inspiring us to be the best version of ourselves. Powerful stuff man. Btw I had two lessons with you in 2014 and still go back to those recordings! 👊

@davidlaflamme7246 Hi David! Thanks for your kind words! That's so cool that you still have the recordings
of our lessons! Great to hear from you and I hope all is great with you!

its the shift from low to high that gets me, i cannot belt at all because i have a very soft voice naturally, which sounds decent in the lower parts but does not help me in the higher parts. any tips on how to build up your voice to a belt without straining it? i always had trouble with that.
