    I've heard a lot of music in my life so far. Songs of many singers can go near them with effort. However, I think the song she sings has a tremendous amount of singing skills so that it seems very difficult to go nearby even with effort. I think she is not a human.
    Thank you for a good video. I'm looking forward to another sohyang's song video.

    Great video, very clear and concise. You and your lovely wife are both knowledgeable and great practitioners. This video will help many aspiring singers. 👍
    (Sohyang received some coaching Seth Riggs too, btw, in her mid 20s iirc. A couple of sessions only, but apparently enough to guide her to the right path. Sohyang possesses a naturally high tessitura, but in her earlier years her techniques weren't healthy. It took years of disciplined training for the 20s Sohyang to reach her 30s' level. So, singers shouldn't need to feel discouraged for slow progress, while at the same time, shouldn't expect overnight mastery either, since even someone with raw talent like Sohyang went through the same thing, with copious amount of patience and self discipline.)

      Hi Bob! Thanks for the kind words and you're right about some singers letting go. These are the ones that don't understand how to fill it in. They stop too soon, just happy to have the notes. Getting the notes is only part of it. Then we have to learn to press in to them to get to our full potential. Few do it. (-: Thanks as always!!

    Hello professor can you talk about how can one do a heady mix voice? I can do a regular mix voice, to do a more heady mix do i just build my range so it naturally becomes heady or is it a different technique?

    • @MikeGoodrich
      @MikeGoodrich  Před 4 lety

      Hi Leadro, I go over some of that in this video so make sure you watch the whole thing. It depends on where in the voice you want a heady mix and how heady. I'll do a video on this as it's a long answer needing some demonstrations. The short answer is to: For a man, work on falsetto and sin it with lots of feeling at a volume that allows for a pure not (not breathy). This will help release compression and begin building in the coordination necessary fr a heady mix. For women, it really helps to find a model of the sound you want to produce. A singer you like. Play with doing head voice (like a man plays with the falsetto) and keep it as pure as possible - not breathy. For both men and women, consciously try to blend it down into a light chest voice as the song or scales descend. Be patient. For more explanation I will need to do a video. (-: Hope this gives you some ideas!

    sir I have a few questions. hope you acknowledge my comment. first of all yes Sohyang is *Queen of Asia's Goddess Vocalist* with super healthy technique that she puts high standard in Asia / World on how to project/belt perfectly.
    my question are
    1. Sohyang has been interviewed by Turkey man named Emre and she claim that her highest note is Eb7. We as a FAN do really believe that Sohyang hit it using super headvoice. Because why? Here are our theory. Sohyang used to sing Emotions and hit Mariah' whistle F6 only using F6 headvoice. 2nd is Sohyang do a WARM UP using Fly Like A Bird , a song from Mariah and hit A6 whistle of Mariah only using A6 headvoice. From there itself, we do believe it is in superheadvoice not a whistle since she doesn't show it to us she ever use whistle. So my question is, do you believe it sir? If yes, elaborate why.
    Btw, there is no video back then to record Sohyang ever hit that Eb7 but Sohyang's music team detect and acknowledge it.
    Please sir👆 I need ESTABLISH VOCAL TEACHER like you to give a profesional answer. Well I wish, if Seth Riggs itself answer this since she knows Sohyang voice's capability.

    • @MikeGoodrich
      @MikeGoodrich  Před 4 lety +2

      Thanks for your comment and question! Honestly, the only version of Fly Like a Bird I can find of Sohyang is a short clip of her playing around. It's probably not her best but all I can find. Mariah seems to have a little more ability to dance and riff up there but Sohyang may have a bit more weight it the notes. I've heard some pretty awesome ones by Mariah too. I've always thought of superhead and whistle as pretty much 2 different ways of talking about the same thing. My friend and great teacher, John Henny may know the science behind this and may be a good one to ask! Type John Henny into youtube! Thanks!

    Hi Mike, listen to you first part of your comments, I have to say I disagree. I know you didn’t do comments on soul singers, but it’s more than worth it. I give this link czcams.com/video/SpWpvY6fz64/video.html and will ask you to look at it and commented on it. This is a part of a tribute to the American soul music and you read the comments. The concert series start in 2014 and has 5 concerts in a row each year and there should always an American soul artist as a gast. The versatility of each of these singers is amazing and you can spend days on them to hear and see which skills they have. Each of them has her own career and joined only for the concerts of “Ladies of Soul”. The soul music was great in the 60’s until mid 80’s even over here in the Netherlands in that time. I like to see your face when you see this, please enjoy because good music is good music independent the styles.
