    This video has officially convinced me to move up to Vero Beach from Miami…! Grew up here but has become too expensive and chaotic… especially after starting my career. ahh, the location freedom that comes with working remote :D may even try to convince my family to come up there too if we like it (which it sounds like we’ll love it)!

    Great video! You are the greatest ambassador for the Treasure Coast. You may want to consider being a travel channel host..lol. Can you share the beach location?

      Thank you Robert!
      And I was right across the street from the moorings. I have a friend in the neighborhood who allowed me to park there!

    Great video! Thank you, Andrew, and your lovely wife as well! Always appreciate the content you put into each video you do. One thing I would love to see is a video or two for folks who are interested in buying land in the Vero Beach/Sebastian area. In particular, buying land to build a small/tiny home. The pre-existing and new build homes are certainly beautiful, but many simply don’t have the need for that kind of square footage, nor are they looking to incur the high costs that come with those as well. Thanks again, and keep up the great work! Hoping to work with you in the future to relocate as I get closer to my retirement 🎉

      I appreciate the recommendation! I actually had a conversation with someone wanting to do this today. Will make a video soon!

    Hi Andrew, nice video. It was so nice to see your wife, Hannah, joining you. She is lovely. Your son is also adorable. Beautiful family! You guys talked about the places that we have considered coming to from New York: Vero Beach, Naples and Venice Beach. I was also turned-off to the red tides. The west coast is also far from family. I have family in Wellington, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, and Boynton Beach. I personally love North Palm Beach. It's so quiet, pretty, and safe, but close proximity to everything. I wasn't crazy about the beach choices, however. It's also too expensive. Now my big decision includes Port St. Lucie. My question would be a comparison of it to Vero Beach. I know the obvious is the beach. What do you think is better for out-of-towners, as far as socializing and meeting new people, whether in a gated and active community, or not? Our comparison is to living in Long Beach, NY. It's Maria btw. Thanks!

      I think a visit to both areas would be 100% absolutely necessary. They are very different from one another. We’re only 30-45 minutes apart, but the way the counties are both ran are very different.
      If you enjoy master planned communities, then PSL may be the preferred choice, but PSL lacks the charm that Vero Beach has in a lot of ways.
      Give me a call anytime if you’d like to discuss.

    I wanted to ask about the issues you had with Pensacola. You mentioned red tide, but Pensacola isn’t really known for having red tide. I believe that is Tampa bay, Sarasota, clear water, Naples areas that get that. As far as I know, Panama City to Pensacola don’t get the red tide

    • @livingthefloridaeastcoast
      @livingthefloridaeastcoast  Před 2 měsíci

      Hey! I don’t have any issues with Pensacola. My wife and I were married there, and it was a great area.
      It’s a completely different feel than Vero Beach, so it’s not even fair to compare.
      Indian River County (Vero Beach & Sebastian) have an extremely slow permitting department, and this helps limit our growth on purpose. There are no high rises here (except for one), and extreme projects are not usually approved. There truly isn’t any other area like Vero Beach or Sebastian that I can find in all of FL that compares.

    When your kids do move out, do you think you and Hannah would want a home of your own with a pool?

    • @livingthefloridaeastcoast
      @livingthefloridaeastcoast  Před měsícem

      It would be the opposite. I would want a pool for my son, but I doubt my wife and I would use it much on our own!

    Sounds like a silly question. But are there a lot of trees?
    Own a tree service in phoenix that we are selling. and would possibly look at part time there

    I saw a person walking a dog behind you, when we visited I didn’t see a beach that allowed dogs. Is it legal where you filmed? We are planning to move with our dog in April.

      I was on a private beach across from the moorings where a friend of mine lives. There are beaches where you can get away with it, but not on the main beaches like south beach, Humiston park, Jaycee Park, etc.
      There are remote beaches north on A1A where a lot of people take their dogs and bend the rules there.

    Are there any nice retirement living with amenities close to Vero beach you would recommend?

    • @livingthefloridaeastcoast
      @livingthefloridaeastcoast  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes! I would recommend looking into Harmony Reserve. They’re in their final phases of building, but have an existing clubhouse with plenty of active amenities

    Vero is like a little poorer version of naples but i do not like. To far from airports in both towns. Vero is a nice family town.The beaches of Vero better than Cocoa beach. More affordable than Palm Beach county. Nice choice thou.

    Why are all the public schools rated so poorly in this area? All of them are getting 3s and 4s out of 10. That is pathetic for what appears to be an upper middle class area. We looked at a couple places in Arizona and California that have public schools rated at 7,8,9 out of 10. I feel that pubic schools are a bellwether for how good or bad an area is going to be in terms of crime and caliber of people that live there. Does Florida not take education seriously?

    • @livingthefloridaeastcoast

      What determines the score? I’d like to know what the scoring system is based on, that way I can give you a clearer answer.
      I can tell you that I grew up in the public school system here, and so did my sister. I have stories of students graduating and achieving everything they’ve ever dreamed of, and I can also show you examples of students that graduated and got hooked on drugs their whole adult life.
      An online school score doesn’t determine how successful a kid will be into their adulthood, and the majority of my friends who graduated high school went onto FSU, UF, and FIT and fell into great careers.
      If you believe in the online scores too much, maybe this area isn’t right for you, but I had a great experience growing up, and chose to move back to this area to raise my son.
