Hector and Issac stopped releasing them in mass after Dracula died. At this point most of the weaker night creatures will have been killed off and only the really dangerous ones would be left.
A bit of weak ones being culled, but perhaps a larger portion . . . Alucard is drunk and depressed. He's still impressive but he's clumsy- a lot like Belmont at the start of season one. He's deep in the throws of that "killing you was the point; living through it was a luxury" mentality.

I love Alucards sword play, he's not doing anything fancy like flipping his blade around and crap. He does throws or calcuated crowd control because HE is a Vampire and he's capable. Plus the fact he mostly uses defensive sword play in order to keep people away from him while looking for a weak spot. Well done attention to detail.
The town name is definitely an Easter Egg to the missing 4th companion Grant Danesti from Castlevania 3. And, I wonder if Greta is sort of the spiritual incarnation of Grant even though it's obvious that she doesn't stick to walls.

Not just that, that demon consciously put himself between the other demon and Alucard, *and only defended himself*. He recognized Alucard was here to save the villagers, and he knew attacking Alucard would just open him to be countered and more easily dispatched. That specific demon had enough emotional capacity to understand the biggest "fuck you" to Alucard would be dead villagers

I love the way alucard’a fighting style evolves from season 1-4. He starts off essentially fencing, playing pretend vampire Jesus and getting by on his natural speed and strength advantage. By season 4 he’s totally different, fighting more like a warrior with tighter movements and an actual shield for defense instead of just his vampire zoomies

Carmilla yeeted a massive stone table like it was nothing before fighting Isaac. The vampires in this show are very, very strong, and Alucard is among the most powerful characters as well.

Well, remember he had basically turned into a drunk and was probably not sleeping well either after he had the worlds worst threesome ever, those things more than likely affected his combat abilities a bit, also it feels like the night creatures he was fighting were far more powerful than in Season1-2, it kinda makes sense when you think about it, only the strongest ones would survive this long, he still dispatched most of them in 1 hit though
All the characters were at the lowest point in season 3 and 4, but the point was that even after all that they'd still pull through. Alucard then goes hard in later episodes cause he gets his shit together.
