Something that kind of impressed me about this series is usually when you see promotional stuff showing two dude characters with swords who are obviously physical fighters and one lady character who is obviously a spellcaster they end up writing the latter as way less effective in a fight and generally unable to keep up with the former often being the one who gets overwhelmed and needs saving by the others. Sypha is a breath of fresh air in that regard as she not only always holds her own in battle as well as either of her companions do but also her knowledge and spells are the only reason they managed to get as far as they did. @Bryson the Mad Pencil No, that's false. You are referring more towards the cultural difference in writing, along with pen techniques and animation styles many refer to actually originate from Russian Illustration and animation. It's also worth noting many American animated shows outsource to studios in all Asia (Korea/ China/ Thailand/ etc). This includes Japan. So if they still 'don't count as anime'; you are choosing to be culturally ignorant.
"chinese and American animations" Weird logic. Firstly, most China audience animated shows are controlled due towards the countries government policy with media. You get majority based on ancient China’s Qin Dynasty mixed with F2P MOBAs usually ripping off Blzzard games. Poorly written and poorly animated, gloried adverts. Art usually looks good though. Character variety is lacking_
I personally like Japanese animation when it's a good show, however I don't rely on any region for my enjoyment of animation. I base quality on what's delivered.
America is certainly no better, for every one good show they have fifty cash-grab trash and ten fart jokes (Rick and Morty being one show that is more than just a stupid fart joke).
Some of my favorites in recent years includes Ducktales, One Punch Man, and Wakfu. All coming from different countries. So while you focus on pro Muria and somehow like Chienese MOBA adverts, I will just like quality animation.

@@kaihedgie1747 From the get go, we're introduced to Rey as someone who seems pretty darn independent. Fine, cool, she has been on a remote desert planet for much of her life since her parents left, that can be understandable. (This is episode 7 by the way)
But throughout the movie without any explicable knowledge of the force or how it works, she just suddenly becomes a prodigy whereas the greatest Jedi known to the universe at the time was Luke Skywalker, and even he had to go through training with Master Yoda, and CONTINUED his training as depicted in the canon comics.
Back to Rey. The most training we witness of her in any fashion is in episode 8, and she moves a few rocks and does a couple of lightsaber waves unsupervised.
The fact that she could even touch Sidious in Episode 9 is blasphemous to Star Wars, and writing in general, for she was nowhere near powerful enough.
The epitome of "mary sue with no training defeats Dark Lord of the Sith strong enough to resurrect himself through the force after years of death."
This is the reason I love Sypha so much. We watch her grow and grow as a character, and we see her magic improve as she spends more time fighting night creatures, and journeying with Trevor. She shows emotion. The way she thinks, feels, and acts develops and changes as she faces adversity.
To be honest, I was hoping Trevor would die so she'd be the focus of a possible spinoff later on to raise the next Belmont.

      @kaihedgie1747 Před 3 lety

@@huddahhuddah3315 Your criticisms can just as easily be applied to her male predecessors, but before that
No, she does not become a "prodigy" in any sense. You want to focus solely on Episode VII but ignore her training moving forward. There is also nothing to suggest prodigious talent
As opposed to Luke failing tests on Dagobah, but still being able to beat Vader, someone who was not only an actual prodigy, but has been trained in the Force since he was a child and has been in far more lightsaber battles? That's not even getting into Legends Luke, who actually carries all of the hallmarks of what one would call a Gary Stu.
She doesn't "touch" Sidious. She beats him when she's empowered by the Jedi of the past. You also leave out the part where she dies in the effort, something that didn't happen to Luke and Anakin in their respective times when faced against similar threats.
You left out the part where Sypha is the only Speaker that does any fighting period and her training is never actually seen. It seems to me you like Sypha because she's not as over-the-top like Alucard and Trevor and seem to despise Rey for being the female central protagonist

But here in castlevania, she didn't need one to make herself stronger. I also like how the team here actually really works as a team and doesn't have just one member plotting amd carrying them. In some shows, if that one member gone, then the entire team dynamic falls apart. Castlevania is such a fresh realistic look on fantasy stuff as a whole and i yhink that's just lovely

If you look closely at 1:32 you can see how Trevor grabs the spear from seemingly super high in the air and lands in one piece killing the beast. It's actually reminiscent of an old technique used by people who live in mountainous areas of the world. They'd have a large wood or metal stick and they could jump off large (within reason) heights and use the stick to break their fall by having the stick fall first and then bracing themselves on it. It's exactly what Trevor does and I absolutely adore it.
(I also love how Trevor, the only non super powered member of the group to ironically, be the FIRST to notice the night creatures, shows just how in touch with their senses the Belmont's are

Sypha is super badass, I love her, she could be like damsel in distress but she is super useful, she actually do stuff and do it right.

Pretty much all Castlevania gals are like that, wait until they show Maria Renard, Charlotte Aulin, Yoko Belnades and specially Shanoa in action.

I love how the animators made the characters look so amazing. IMO, Alucard looks the hottest while Trevor makes me think of Braveheart. Sypha makes me think of Erza in Fairy Tail, but with magic instead of weapons.

Bruh. A reference to castlevania bosses is always the best!
