  • In this video I will be showing how I propagate Boxwood. This specific variety is Wintergreen. I purchased several boxwood for a Landscape project and I liked them so much I have decided to create more for a future Garden Room.
I hope you find inspiration to get out and dig in the dirt.

I have a few boxwood hedges that were there before we moved in. If boxwoods thrive better in acidic soil, should I mix sulfur into the soil where they've been growing?

Please, what is the name of the boxus variety you are cutting?
I will appreciate this information 🌻🐝 I love the shiny leaves of your boxus.

Whats the next step? I have a whole bunch of boxwood plants that I propagated from cutting. They are doing well, but I am wondering what I need to do to make sure they grow to be bushy plants. Do I need to keep pruning them back hard to encourage new growth, or will they branch out on their own?

I will prune twice a year or as needed.

Every time you prune it takes a few weeks for the plant to recover. What zone are you in?

How big are the plants? What size container or are they planted in ground. You really want to h e babies to get some good roots. I would wait a bit if they are new. See how your growth is next June and decide from there. My previous comment was based on mature plant.

@@naturebluegardens I have 140 of them planted in the ground in a little tree farm in my front yard. They are about 2.5 years old and are maybe 18 inches tall, but are very thin. I have been thinking that I should probably cut them back about 1/3 or even 1/2 in the early spring.
