    My cuttings are just starting to take root. Should I keep them in doors over winter? They will only be 5-6 months old when the snow starts.

    How long does it take for the cuttings to actually grow to the size of the parent plant? A year or two, or much more then that?

    • @JJr-ce3vv
      @JJr-ce3vv Před 7 lety

      Aneta Kudasik , it takes two months. if the leaves are alive, you got roots.

      "to grow to the size of the parent plant"
      well, now, that would depend upon the size of the 'parent' plant.
      Martha Stewart mentioned ten years from cutting to full-sized hedge.

      Years and years. Boxwoods grow slow, but if you have a big yard and you what to fill it with a formal garden of boxwoods, a little patience is a lot cheaper than buying hundreds of boxwoods at a local nursery.

    My cuttings are dying after 4 weeks. They are inside in a seed starter tray with a lid in indirect bright light. Should I just start over?

    • @mansardmanor3869

      Died or just brown dead leaves
      In California I plant directly in moist to swamp like conditions in hot summer days
      As long as the main stem is bendable, its trying to grow, if it snaps its dead

      Amy Rajnoor , yes, you can. however, you must keep the water cleaning, and often change the water to avoid fungi growing, 99% cutting plates were killed by fungi.

      Teresa Williams, for this kind of evergreen plates, you can do this in most of the time, winter should be avoided unless you have greenhouse.
