Love my boxwoods, and I want more, so I googled "propagating boxwood from cuttings" and up popped Bill! Great way to start a Sunday morning! Deer will not touch my boxwood, and they are wonderful in my front yard. Thanks for the tutorial - I'll do this in a few weeks! Cheers with my tea mug...

That’s amazing! I’m just trying to learn how to do this and this was without a doubt the best video I’ve found! Thank you for sharing! Cheryl register, from Clinton NC

I want to do this but it’s September already. I’m in zone 9b where temps are still in the high 90°s. Can I give it a try still?

Cutting the tips also help promote root growth.😊

Please what can I do if I don’t have the rooting hormone powder?

Go to a nursery and buy a grown plant.

You don’t necessarily need a rooting hormone, it’s just to speed up the process.

Am I able to fix a bald spot in my boxwood or is all hope lost? 😩

    • @PlantzNThings

There isn't an instant fix for that... just time and pruning. Boxwood is known to produce new growth on older wood. So hope is not lost. I'm dealing with some bald spots on a Boxwood growing in a container.... if removed all of the dead wood... trimming back until I start seeing green in the wood... now its a waiting game

Did you use any rooting hormone? I hear for water propping you can crush up a weeping will branch or an aspirin tablet in the water it acts as a rooting hormone
